I thought that was pretty good for PS3.
All it can do now is go up, and by winter then next year, then maybe a price cut.
does anyone realise that sony is majorly outselling M$? think about it, the ps2 has been around much longer than the xbox or xbox360 and it is seeling almost as much as the 360. the prove is in the puddingskorpion352
[QUOTE="magus-21"][QUOTE="MERC_RECONN"][QUOTE="UntoldDreams"]You have to factor in Europe in march.
Sony is firing on 2 of 3 major cylinders.

The thread maker knows this...he's just trying to put a damper on the momentum swing!!! The ps3 has a way to go, but things are starting to pick-up now.
Buddy, no matter how you try to spin it, this is the truth: In NORTH AMERICA, the PlayStation 3 failed to outsell ANY system EXCEPT for the GameCube and Xbox, both of which have been essentially discontinued. This is BAD NEWS for the PS3 no matter how much damage control or spin or whatever else you call it you want to come up with. Too early to say it's dead (after all, the DS dropped below 100k during the spring following its launch, too, and the 360 dropped to only 160k last year), but it's still bad news.I'm not disagreeing with you about the facts bro, sony does have a hole to dig themselves out of, but the momentum is starting to pick-up, and once the big name tittles start to drop, the ps3 will be in a more competative position.
Not at that price point. Stop kidding yourself. Until a big price drop it will not sell like it should.

Once more titles come out and it launches it all regions PS3 will do fine.
but the funny thing is that as of right now ps3 have 2 exclusive titles that is (as of right now) is beating alot/most of 360 exclusive titles in ratings so u do have an option on the ps3 just not a very big option in games as of right nowSeriously, who's dumb enough to buy the ps3 for gaming???
All you can do is watch blueray movies.

I can't speak for europe but here in NA until a price drop no game will draw the mass consumer here to spend $600 for what they perceive as a gaming console. Consumers here are use to waiting for price cuts and they will.
but still u r missing 1 important fact; europe only us and japan have ps3 as of right now, europe don't have their ps3 yet but we'll see if ps3 will pick up by march (which i think with the release of motorstorm and the europe launch, numbers will definately increaseThe canadian figures are just as bad. If people think the sales will pick up they are wrong. It's just too expensive and sadly not everyone cares abotu blu ray.
DS 23,191
Xbox 360 12,390
PlayStation 3 6,084 systems.
PlayStation Portable 9,311

[QUOTE="magus-21"][QUOTE="Sgt_Hale"][QUOTE="bkslayer"]This isnt false, and you know gamespot is slow with the news. The poster from the Neogaf forums has access to these numbers himself, and he makes a post like this every month.Gamespot posted on the Canadian number just hours ago and as of that time the NA numbers still have not been published for February. Furthermore, no other gaming news site on the web has access to these numbers yet, but some forum poster does???? And this sounds believable to you why??? Plain and simple, NPD has not released any publications for NA for the month of Feb.... you can google and see for yourself. Sales may or may not be low... the point is that the post is not true and we have to wait for the REAL numbers to come out to know for sure. You can't Google NPD numbers. NPD numbers have to come from secondhand sources unless you BUY them from NPD. And NPD released their numbers at 4pm. I think they will get lower and lower especially since there is nothing spectacular coming out for a long while. LAIR, WARHAWK, HEAVENLY SWORD, MOTORSTORM that just dropped last week and u r saying that there isn't going 2 be anything worthy on the ps3 no time soon???!?!?!?!?!? some1 please give him the rope
But besides all of that, that is pretty bad for Sony. Hopefully March will be much much different, but it just doesnt seem it will be. Besides Oblivion (which Xbox already has) what other game do you guys think will sell systems in March? This is a deep hole Sony has to dig themselves out of.

Sony did have a small "comeback" at GDC, so I can see PS3 sales rising momentarily up to 150k to 170k. But dang, they need games NOW. The Wii can survive on WiiSports, Twilight Princess, and WarioWare, and the 360 just has a golden year ahead of it, but the PS3 needs something really big soon.[QUOTE="magus-21"][QUOTE="Deihmos"][QUOTE="magus-21"][QUOTE="Sgt_Hale"][QUOTE="bkslayer"]This isnt false, and you know gamespot is slow with the news. Why would it go up in March? Because of Oblivion or Amored Core? yea those are big system sellers even though one is a year old game and a new expansion is already coming to Xbox Live.
no cuz of the PAL launch of the ps3's and the preview of home will boost the sales of ps3 in march, just naming those games that hit in march along with motorstorm is just bonusesThe number for sold units in March will be a whole hell of a lot higher...
I have no worries... :PÂ Â >>>>>PS3 still owns!!!
I can bet you the numbers will be lower or around the same. i don't see anyoen running out to spend $600 because of a racing game.Deihmoswell if that's sales 4 the us only then i really don't see much of an improvement either, but i did realize that motorstorm was flying off the shelves on release day p.s. to all u 360 fanboys: the 360 is only successful in the us so in the actual terms of 360 victory, only in the us sony takes the cake with japan and( maybe) with the european countries (in the comparison of 360 vs ps3 of course)
November - December '05 - Xbox 360 sales:
Â
By year's end, Microsoft had sold 1.5 million units; including 900,000 in North America, 500,000 in Europe, and 100,000 in Japan.
Everyone's so quick to say the PS3 is failing when just looking at the numbers you can see at the same point in the xbox360's life, it was selling worse.
As per: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360#Sales
yeah, i think March will be higher. the thing i'm worried about, is trying to keep the sales numbers at a steady rate, not constantly declining. The number for sold units in March will be a whole hell of a lot higher...
