Red Dead Redemption.... Game of the Year?

I have seen alot of information, gameplay and screenshots for read dead redemption and it looks really incredible. I loved GTA IV and since it is rockstar creating this using the same engine and physics it looks similar but a whole lot improved. I know its early to judge but in my opinion this could be a possible Game of the Year. Who else agrees?

Yep definitely looks like it could be GOTY

way too early to be having any thoughts of that nature i think. ill wait to play it first before i judge if it will even be a decent game,

I would deem it a contender but not GOTY. Not alot of people are Wild West fans.

You're ruling out crysis 2 being GOTY and I can't see them slacking when making this game.

Should be good, but I mean Red Dead God of War?? GT 5? I mean the fakers can wish but its 2 in a row sorry.

think about it - Alan Wake oozes flop-nessness - & Halos just Halo & Mass Effect 2 was aight?

what else is there coming up? - the new Fallout could be a contender?

I have no doubt that RDR will be a game of the year contender. No doubt in my mind at all.

i think it's too early too say which ones will be goty. there's still many games to come :D

It's no doubt a contender, but it's gonna have bigger names to go up against, such as Gran Turismo 5 and Heavy Rain.

I would love if it won the GOTY award at least in 3 categories

There has been A LOT of amazing games that have come out this year... and A LOT yet to come in the fourth quarter.
Considering you haven't even played the game yet and you're juding everything based on videos... I wouldnt make any assmptions yet.

I personally think it's going to be an amazing game. But I also think GOW III was amazing, Heavy Rain was amazing, ModNation Racers is going to be amazing... plus games like Brink, Fallout: New Vegas, and Mafia II coming out later in the year... RRDemp has some serious competition.

anything can happen, the game looks incredible so far. but i don't know if it's game of the year or not because there are lots of games out there such GoW3, Heavy Rain, Mass Effect 2 ..etc.

if you were following last year's gamepot's awards, Demons' Soul got the GOTY award and everyone was betting on Uncharted 2 Among Theives and Modern Warfare 2.. (yes, such an irony)

this year's no different, i think either God of War 3 or Mass Effect is the GOTY but who knows, Gamespot might screw us once again, just like last year.

Yeah the game is amazing and a first-day-buy for me But.... for my personal game of the year, and possibly for the media, there is game that will surly blow our minds and take the "top spot" "The Last Guardian" by TeamICO Hopefully it comes out this year Q3-Q4 ;)director13

See, I could care less about The Last Guardian. I disliked Shadow of the Colossus (yes, I'm like the only one who did.) and I never got a chance to play Ico. And I really don't see the media clamoring over TLG when the likes of God of War 3 and Heavy Rain are contending for the GOTY.

The online auto aim is killing it for me (online).....from what I read it can be turned off but man it doesn't even look like some of the players are aiming they just hit the trigger

way too early for this kinda speculation. i liked the original red dead. but after the atrocity that was gta4, i will NEVER trust rockstar again. lots of great games already came out this year, and more are coming. im more hyped for the new castlevania (being a kojima project) to be a contender.

i smell flop. but i hope this game proves me wrong though. its be nice to see an american western get the same respect that all these jrpg's get.

It can't possibly be a GOTY contender yet without being released, being played, and reviewed by the general public. If the case was otherwise I would have argued for Haze to be the game of the year in 2008 because it looked cool leading up to release.

Contender I am pretty sure but no way its actually gonna get Game of the year, that isn't happening I would be shocked if it did considering I don't like the whole wild wild west lore.

It might but I doubt it, GoW3 probably will.

My vote is GT5. While RDR looks great it's way too early in the year to be calling this one.

Don't get me wrong the game looks great.. but IMO God of War 3 is going to run away with the GOTY
