I don't think the PS3 will be outselling the Wii per month by next year. The price will still be high even if it drops, and the Wii will still be 'new'. But in 2010, when HD and HDMI will be common in every house holds and that the 'new' feeling of the Wii will have faded out and PS3 games will be much more impressive than they are today, then I am sure the Wii will get third in sales. 

What I find hilarious is that people say the PS3 is not worth it but still cry for a price drop. Why would you buy a crappy product just because it got a price drop? I mean, I for one don't think the "box" is worth much really (but that's just MO) and wouldn't bother getting one even if it got a price drop to $159.00. The few games that interest me aren't worth me buying it when I can simply play them on friend's consoles. So if the PS3 is not worth it and is the same as the "box" then why would anyone care about a price drop anyhow?

Most hate agaisnt the PS3 comes only from there, the high price. Adults who work can get what they want (unless they work at mc Donald). Then people just add stupid things like that the PS3 has no exclusives to justify why they don't have the money.

Actually, even if the PS3 would be a flop, Sony wouldn't go the way of Sega. Unlike Sega and Nintendo, Sony and MS make a lot of profit in other markets than in video games. X-Box was a hole for MS, they never made any profit from it, but they improved and came back. Sony made a LOT of money with PS1 and PS2, much more than anyone ever did in the console market. PS1 was the first to hit 100 milions sales and PS2 was the only one to beat it.

That doesn't mean PS3 will reach it, but it means that Sony knows they can be successful in that market. If they flop, they will just come back with a improved formula. If anything, losing can only make Sony stronger in the next next gen.

And it isn't true that most gamers are kid. A survey in early 2007 said that the majority of gamers was 16 and over. For X360 and PS3, the age average went over 20. Teens at 16 can work to get themselves a PS3 or a X360.

This wasn't coming out on top to much. Statements were made and they were questioned since there were no backup. If we are averaging over 24 :) we should be able to write with facts that are supported. Very nice to find the facts by Trek and to be right, but not to much to ask for that there is some backup to data.

I have a ps3 and xbox360. The box broke down. Ps3 rulez, because the games are great (i have resistance and VF5) and it is much more reliable than the box.

Not bad in spite of all the negative press, a $600 price tag(twice the price of PS2 at the time), and the whole "no good games" crap(I guess I'm the only person in the world who knows about Resistance, Motorstorm, Oblivion, etc.)

unfortunately the bad publicity will bring it down. same exact story with psp. everyone was all..theres no good games the first year, and then even after a ton of good ones came out people stuck with that argument simply because that became the handheld known for its lack of games.

What's with all this crap about the PS3 not selling??? Here is the most recent chart from VGChartz.

As you can see, with launches aligned the PS3 is pretty much EXACTLY where the PS2 and 360 were at the same time in their life since launch.

Its selling good In my last issue of game informer they said its selling just as good if not better than the the PS2.  I cant wait to get me a PS3

Some people have bought two 360s because one broke, but most people have just sent it back to microsoft to get a refurb unit back. Also once again this article confirms that PS3 fans should not be worried. Also the 360 doesn't have blu-ray which will indeed boost sales and profit for Sony.
