What does the perfect ps3 game need to have in your opinion. Now it doesn't have to be super specific but, is the lead character male or female? In depth customization or play as a predetermined character? Is the emphasise on the gameplay or the story? Or maybe Graphics? and on that point, realistic graphics or stylized or even cell shaded graphics? is there a love interest? what genre is it? does it revolutionize the genre or does it just perfect it? Multiplayer or not? and if so is it online, offline or both; co-op or competitive or even both?

As for me, the lead character would be a male or female depending on my mood that day, as i could customize my character however i pleased, and the game would have a deep story backed by solid gameplay. As for the graphics, the don't need to be groundbreaking, in fact i prefer stylized graphics. Of course there's a love interest, in fact multiple, depending on the action of the player. Genre would have to be Rpg/Action Rpg, and it doesn't have to revolutionize anything to warrant my purchase, tho that's a plus. As for Multiplayer, that's always a bonus, be in online or offline.

Something that can get the good old LOLHYPE and actually...dare I say....exceed the hype and go way over and beyond in every area. Revolutionary gameplay and a story you just won't forget. Also, so Final Fantasy VII fanboys don't go biting, this game I speak of simply can't be topped with the next big game of its genre. In fact, the clones won't get anywhere near its originality and polish. (Something FFVII can't say it does) And finally, the hate brigade will be the ONLY people able to complain about the game. That and Gamespot's review staff.

I don't think any game can be perfect, whatever it has included in it.

But that's kind of the point of this thread, to get a basic description of your "prefect" game in your mind; Come on, use your magic markers!!!!

It will have to be the story, but one that really touches people and that's a bit difficult to pull off in games where you start off fresh and create your own characters. Then pacing. How many good games suffer from boring middle sections ( Dead Space eg). Upgrading certain parts of your abilities to the point where it makes some sort of difference to your approach later also adds. I would say Bioshock was one of the most enjoyable games i have played on PS3, and i actually gave a crap about understanding what's going on and why. Also i was touched by Mirror's Edge and this is what elevated these two games above others which were visuallymore impressive at the time.

My ideal game would be an open world survival horror, set on the necromorphs home planet. The planet would be in constant darkness (but still able to see of course) and would never receive sunlight. The player would take control of Isaac Clarke (with his cool Dead Space suit), and would work alone, but receive directions and objectives over a similar use of see through holograms displayed in real time. There will be different factions for the player to work for, and they would all resolve around trying to put a stop to the necromorph species for good. There will be a big focus on melee combat, where ammo is scarce. You will be able to carry a range of sci fi and sharp bladed weapons to dismember the aliens, and Isaac will be notably more agile to pull off various combos, and gory finishing moves. It will also contain similar and disturbing visuals like in Dead Space. It would be called "Dead Planet" .

MGS4 is far from perfect with or without trophies

like how? engrossing storyline, great characters, sneaking, non-sneaking, unarmed fighting, lots of shooting, customiztion for character and guns. very linear tho that, imo is its only bad point. what else are you looking for?

Lets dance: Big budget game can't afford its own main theme song? Storyline isn't as emotional as the previous ones? Graphics have already been trumped by a game that's been in development far far less? Bosses are far inferior to previous ones? What do you suppose some of us are looking for? >=D

Note that obviously my own "favorite game ever" is, just like every game released, isn't perfect. So I won't be defending it for "perfection". I'm still waiting for a "perfect" game. A game that can even escape subjectivity and (real  ) ignorance. Yeah. I went there. xD

wow, soo many people are missing the point of this thread. No game out right now is perfect, thats why your, suppose to image your ideal game, not your favorite. Im sure while playing U2 or mgs4, there were parts that you would like to have changed, thus the game is not perfect, as no game is.

Female lead.
Mirror's Edge ambience.
WipEout futuristic art design and colors.
Grand Theft Auto (s)tyle free roam and exploration.
Final Fantasy caliber story-telling.

I think the closest thing to this is Final Fantasy XIII, minus the ambience and the free-roam.

Well, let's see. Metal Gear Solid 4 was a bit like paying $60 for an underdone movie. The gameplay was lacking, and after all it was a video game. I liked the previous MGS games, and I was excited for MGS4, but it completely let me down. It felt like they made you do all the sneaking and crawling around, and then when Snake does something cool... it's in a cutscene. Really, really, boring. I could have gotten the same enjoyment from a book, for free at the library.

Your game describes GTA San Andreas almost perfectly. I dont really have a perfect game, something like GTA San an would work, or half life, but those came out so I pick them as my perfect game.

No game is perfect? What's wrong with Uncharted 2?

I can't think of one part of U2 that i'd have changed. The whole game had a pure epic vibe to it, the story kept me engrossed throughout and the puzzles offered a nice change of pace from firefights and platforming. I'm not a huge platformer fan so the linear and fairly easy platforming is fine by me. And the multiplayer is amazing IMO. I personally enjoy it more than MW2 simply because i don't like the whole 'you see first, you kill first' which is normally how it is in COD games.

IMO Uncharted 2 is a perfect game, and as to not being trumped by another game this gen, guess the perfect game will have to be Uncharted 3 then.

Im asking that you think outside the box for a minute. Thinking of something that as been already create as perfect will only limit the growth of creativity. Nothing is perfect, there is always room for improvement. If you were to ask Naughty Dog "Is Uncharted 2 perfect?" im sure you would be answer with a huge list of things they would have like to added or maybe changed, but couldn't have do to current restrictions, be it technical or time related; But its that kind of thinking, always looking for ways they can improve their creations, that they able to make AAA games.

The only games I think that have the potential are GOW3 and "Trico". But if they can achieve perfection thats up to the developers.

first off let me say i feel privileged to have my words in your sig. honestly i do. But as for our "dance", i know what you said, so you may deny it but i know what you said earlier.

as for vets leaving, i used to read and contribute here (very little tho lol) a few years ago but gave it up due to the whole flaming/bashing thing and that i could'nt be arsed really. i would'nt call myself a vet tho to be honest lol.

if you care to dance tho, go ahead and do it with some other kid. i've better things do be doing with my time at the moment. so don't be expecting anymore replys from me.

as for this topic/thread, i'm really sorry to everyone (except Symphonycometh) it came a bash-a-ton. but back to topic, i beleive that mgs4 is quite a perfect game for ps3, altho others may agree or disagree. heyy thats whats makes these forums interesting. :)

First of all, it needs to be a long game. Uncharted was great, but it only takes on average a short 8 hours to complete. At least 40-50 hours long, that way you'll really get your money's worth. (I spent $13 on Tales of Legendia, that game has well over 50 hours, and in the month thatI've had it, I've played it for about 30 hours. I've still got ways to go. Ghostbusters the game cost about $40, and it has a much shorter story mode of about 6 hours which I beat within 2 weeks, now I hardly play it. But still, the campaign was great for what it was.)

It needs to be story driven, half of the reason I kept playing Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Legendia was to find out what happens next because those two games are extremely story driven. Uncharted 1 and 2 also had good storys that made me want to keep going.

Online and offline splitscreen multiplayer for more replay value.

A good soundtrack. Fighting a boss to this music was epic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mswnlFYnT00

A game where you play as a train, fighting other trains while you eat their cargo. Did I mention... it'll be an ON-RAILS SHOOTING GAME??!!!!hazelnutman

I could have sworn you said this before... in another thread that was about something different completely... and I remember it had something to do with Thomas.

A game called Final Fantasy 7 - It's quite unheard of and not many people talk about it -

[QUOTE="Symphonycometh"]

[QUOTE="karatemaster"] Your an ignorant person for simply bashing me because i asked why. then to tell me i have no right for you to respect my opinion... grow up already.karatemaster

What are you talking about? I gave the bloody game a 9.5! The points I illustrated were the reasons I didn't give it a perfect ten. But now I'm being called ignorant and crazy because I dare give reasons to why the game isn't perfect? (By the way, tell me where I flamed you in that post. I daresay if anyone is flaming for an opinion, it is you and x8vxu6.) I'll sig you until we clarify this dance.

first off let me say i feel privileged to have my words in your sig. honestly i do.

I deny nothing. Doesn't the fact that your quote, the other guy's quote, and my post doesn't flame you a bit? The fact that my post isn't edited? Nor do either of the three's posts talk about respecting opinions up until you called me ignorant for it. The only thing I can imagine what the flip you're talking about is.....my previous sig. The one talking about respecting opinions. As for "growing up", I believe no man should ever run away from a topic until it's done completely. So again, I ask you, where was the flame on my first post that warranted the statement? Once again, I'd say you're the only one close to trolling here, all while trying to look down on me for daring to answer your question.

[QUOTE="karatemaster"][QUOTE="M0wen10"]

MGS4 is far from perfect with or without trophies

Symphonycometh

like how? engrossing storyline, great characters, sneaking, non-sneaking, unarmed fighting, lots of shooting, customiztion for character and guns. very linear tho that, imo is its only bad point. what else are you looking for?

Lets dance: Big budget game can't afford its own main theme song? Storyline isn't as emotional as the previous ones? Graphics have already been trumped by a game that's been in development far far less? Bosses are far inferior to previous ones? What do you suppose some of us are looking for? >=D

Oh thank God it's not edited. My entire point rests upon if I edited this. XD
