What Do Your Parents Think About The PS3?

What do they think? My mum isn't interested at all, but my dad seems to kinda like it. He comes into my room sometimes and asks what game I am playing and then asks if he can have a go! He also saw a Blu-Ray film playing on a 50 inch Sony Bravia HDTV at Comet and said, " Wow, the quality is amazing! So if we got a HDTV we could watch films like that...? " Luckily enough, we are getting a 50 inch Sony Barvia for the living room in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure if I will move my PS3 out of my bedroom to the living room or not, ( Don't want my sister mucking around with it... =/ ) but when we get it I will probably try it on it!

So yeh, what do your parents think about the PS3?

ehhh mines are the same man, my mom hates it and cant stand it and has no reason for it to ever have an excistence except waste my time.

and my dad likes shooters or realistic games and is outstanded by the graphix. but wont play at all!!

My parents are RETARDSSS!!!!...they are like "OOOH that game looks fun!"... (motorstorm).. they buy it claiming they will play it, they never do, it sits in the corner collecting dust, and I feel guilty... the sad part is its happened like 5 times, and motorstorm was the best game they ever chose.....

my mums view:

2006 = Ps2 is ruining your life!
2007 (start) = why do you want to buy an insanely expensive machine which will ruin your life!?
2007 (whilst playing uncharte demo) = woah...

my dad remains impartial just cause he never cares about anything

I think my dad likes it manily because of the built in bluray system,but he likes assains creed alot.He wont try any of my other games he thinks the rest of them are stupid.Lol he says all you do is shoot the crap out of someone.try to convince him otherwise but nope wont change his mind about it owell.:D

my dad liked it so much he bought one on Friday with COD4....now i have to ask him to let me borrow it....

I LOL'd at your sig. I don't have a PS3 yet, but my mom likes to play DOA with me on 360 and the only games my dad will play are the ones that came preloaded on his go-phone, but he is seriously addicted to those.

Mom- loves it she's the one that wanted it, to bad its with me in college ;). she helped pay or has paidfor all of my gaming consoles thus far. PS1, PS2 (3 actually), XBOX, PS3

I wasn't even expecting it. turns out we now someone that works for SONY, and since they just Happened to win one at a raffle drawing we bought it from them.

My dad doesn't care. he just thinks its a waste of time and and my money. In response to this i tell him he bought it. LOL.

My parents drive me insane sometimes on their policies.

What pisses me off especially is how my brother got a ps1 from my grandparents in like '97 or '98 and then in '01 he bought a ps2, i think for $300. Now the ps3 is out, he still lives with my parents and i(which i don't mind sometimes) and he is really edgy on getting one because my parents are making him feel like he needs to move out very soon or the world will end. Also, i can't even buy one, simply because 1. the only model i would consider buying is the 80gb since the 40gb doesnt have as much features and no BC. 2. Because my parents won't really let me get a job and in fact i really dont feel like getting a job this school year, maybe next tho. and 3. Because i know for a fact my parents (especially my dad) won't buy something, no matter if u get the bang from ur buck, above $100 or $150 and because my brother is almost trying to control me in that he doesn't want me to buy a ps3, because he knows he won't be master of it then (kind of a git in this case because he has the advantage of the fact that he has a much easier chance of getting one than i do). Then he tells me he MIGHT get one around the second quarter next year and raises my hopes. But i know for a fact he will alot of times try to be f***ing controlling of it(and treating it like his old f***ing labtop that he first played BF2 on and didn't let me even play a little bit or even touch the stupid thing or pick it up even tho i am probably just about as careful as he is with expensive stuff. So, to sum it up, I'm treated like an underdog majorly when it comes to expensive stuff, just because i like tossing things around and doing tricks with them. They don't even realize that i have never tossed expensive stuff like a ps2 around. I mean why do they think i would do that if they've never seen me do it before? I would much rather play a f***ing ps2 than juggle it around and probably break it like a f***tard.

I mean, what they're acting like is just about the same as what their parents acted like when hard rock music and electric guitars first came out. It's **** and i can't believe they have never thought it like that before. Because nothing is a waste of time as long as it provides either entertainment or hard work. but parents nowadays almost always take the idea of wasting time as sitting around playing video games, when watching tv is just as much of a waste of time and there's alot of parents that watch alot of tv and don't see the fact that arguing against playing video games when they burn as much calories or do as much work watching tv is dumb.

LOL Oh it's even better when they're there when you buy it lol Cause if I'm excited to get something, I usually tell my mom I'm going to buy it. It was even funnier when I got my HDTV lol I got the whole "you can get a TV *like it* for much cheaper!" and "what's the difference?!"

The good thing is though, when she sees it and what it can do, then it fades away and she likes it lol

I've realised that a LONG time ago. It is pretty much just that. Video Games today are what Hard Rock was in the 50's. "Waste of time!" "You're going to rott your brain!" "It will bring chaos and make everyone murder eachother!" Same old song and dance. But you know what? It's going to pass eventually. Video Games will be a strong establishment of society and they'll move on to the next new thing and condemn that too.
