What makes a person a Trophy ****

Hello my fellow gamers :D
I just wanted to get your opinion on something.

So i often hear people calling me a trophy whore, i got like 884 trophies.

I usually only get trophys by playing my games, get them as i go. But somethimes yes i do try to get platinum on certain games.

Whould you concider me a trophy whore?
I dont even play that much, i just happen to get trophies easily :S

I know ppl that buy games only for the trophies, and they're always searching for games that are easy to plat. That's what I call a trophy wh0re. I don't see what's the point in playing a game that you don't even like

I've had this argument with friends (even though I don't have as many as you do yet). Personally? I think it comes down to the player's motivation. If you are ONLY playing to unlock trophies and, in turn, playing terrible games just BECAUSE they have trophies, you're a trophy whore. I myself prefer the term "trophy hunter" for me. I only play games I like and Platinum ones I really like. Case in point, you'll never see me shooting for the Terminator: Salvation or Hannah Montana Platinums.

I never buy games just because of trophies xD

well except one time i picked up godfather because it was like 10 dollars.. and i knew it was a easy plat.. but Infamous ,RE5 , Uncharted 2, Burnout paradise and call of duty 5 are all games i loved playing .. so i just got platinum by playing them =)

Ive seen people with 300 trophies that has 10 platiunmes :O

But like on Call of duty 5 i really enjoy the trophies though .. because im such a big fan of the zombie mode ! I actually managed to get the hardest trophies on map pack 3 within 2 hours :D

Like survive to lvl 20 without buying a single perk ! I was proved of that one for a while hihi:)

Well trophies do give games replay value, but i never focus on trophies untill my second playtrough.

Even though sometimes i come over trophy lists for games that arnt out , like uncharted 2.. I might try and get some of them along the way because i already know how to get them but i will focus on enjoying the singleplayer instead of getting trophies.

The biggest reason why i have alot of trophies is because i have a lot of friends that have the Playstation 3. SO i can just borrow games from them ^^

well i actually got that platinum trophy in 3 days. but that was all because id played the game many times b4 the trophy patch came out ^^

Oh and the people who "cheat" to get online trophies..

like killzone 2 just start a room with a buddy and do headshots and get ribbons and crap..

littlebigplanet hit up the forums to get people to heart your levels..

ect..

that is not right, and a huge factor of why trophies are bad..

EDIT - and those people who don't get their own trophies.. like "i'll get you dead space platinum if you get me R2 platinum".. GOD i hate those people..

A person that play games just for the trophies. You know, those kind of people that rent the Hanna Montanna game even if they don't like it just to get its trophies...

Buying games JUST for trophies is the only really solid way I can think of, if not it's a very fine line.

Technically nothing in the poll makes one a trophy hound, personally I reckon a trophy hound is one that buys games for trophies even if he doesn't enjoy the game but would waste money on them just to raise trophy number and level.Swift_Boss_A

The top people in the world with about 60 platinums and play games just to try and be top in the world!

I only get trophys on games i really enjoy :D even though i have gotten trophies in games that arnt so good , but i didnt know they sucked b4 i tried them

i dont agree with any of the options but i would say if you have A LOT of bronzes and no platinums your more likely to be a trophy *****. or if you rent games to get trophysgrand17

My def of a trophy whore is someone who buys games just for the trophies even if they have no interest in the game, but to be labeled that bc you have alot of trphies is idiotic someone who has alot of games is bound to get a lot of trophies and its fun to collect all the trophies for that much sought after plat trophy but to buy a game bc it has easy trophies as your sole reason for purchase that makes you some kind of trphy hooker

People who have rediculous amounts of trophy games, and maybe have games that suck, but have easy trophies/achievements.

What does NOT make a trophy whore-

Having platinums for GOOD games, and actually playing things that dont give trophies once in a while.

People who don't spend all their time trying to get that one... last... bronze...

and finally, people who actually have an inkling of an online social life.

I agree with some of the folks that have already posted. I would say that if youplay games that are terrible just for trophies, you are a trophy whore. If Hannah Montana is on your played gamelist, there is no denying that you are one.

Nothing wrong with trying to get a platinum for a game u enjoy but if u buy crap games just for trophies, then u r a trophy *****. I only have 1 platinum myself and its for Infamous, one of the best games of the year
