Fo me....it was probably Crash Bandicoot and then the Jet Moto series....those are pretty much the earliest PS games I remember playing....
Oh yeah, I almost forgot about Destruction Derby 2....fun gameright there.
But I think Final Fantasy 7 is what hooked me on the Playstation name.
it was 1996... I had just gotten paid and was wanting to buy something... went to some game store and asked about the different game machines available... they told me Playstation is where it's at (competition at the time was the Sega Saturn I think).
I bought it and also bought Aliens and Kings Field (I think that was the name)... ALiens was a pretty cool fps at the time. Kings Fields sucked a$$ very much and I threw it away.
WHat really got me into the whole playstation thing was when the original Resident Evil came out... then there was the original Tomb Raider. Was Totally Awesome! Then in 97 or 98 Metal Gear Solid came out. THose were good times :)
*edit: oh yeah, how could I forget FF7. I remember all the hype about before that game came out abuot how excellent the graphics would be and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference when cut scenes end and gameplay begins. Was a very fun time until a few weeks later and I began to think the game would never end. lol
the first game i ever had 8 years ago at 7. parrapa the rappa. the best game that ever has and will be in the universe.

Kick! Punch! It's all in the mind
If you wanna test me, I'm sure you'll find
The things I'll teach ya is sure to beat ya
But nevertheless you'll get a lesson from teacher
Kick- Punch- Chop - Block
Once more now
Kick- Punch- Chop - Block...
Before I discovered the PlayStation, I was a Nintendo gamer. I wasn't as much into games back then, and the games that I got for the Nintendo 64 were...dismal (except for Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, but even that bored me after a while...)
I was about to stop gaming when I went over to a friend's house one day. He had his PS2 hooked up downstairs, and I watched him play Metal Gear Solid 2. Now, I wasn't interested in playing per se, but the game was awesome...I then played Enter the Matrix, and I thought it was cool...(I know, it's pretty mediocre now, but hey, I'm a Matrix fan...) I got it for the PC, only to discover my graphics card (or lack of one) sucked...
So I went to EB Games and spent $129 on a used PS2, and later, that game. I enjoyed it, and soon after that, I bought my second game, which made me switch over to the PlayStation for good. What was that game?
Final Fantasy X.
And now, I'm a happy PS gamer, waiting for Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Lair...and later Heavenly Sword to arrive while I play some goodies (like Devil May Cry 3 SE as Vergil, or DBZ Budokai 3)...I love Sony.

Yes, yes it did still think MGS1 was the best game that ever appeared on the PS1 though.
I remember being in 3rd grade when FFVII came out and even though I had no idea what it was about everyone at my school was buzzing about it all the time. The later I heard about MGS and didn't know what everyone was talking about that. Then once I got older and my brother got a PS1 for Christmas (he was younger I had an N64) my life switched over to Sony when I first played Legend of the Dragoon. It might not have been a FF game but it was just as good. I enjoyed the story of that game so much!
DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER IT!?
