for me it was tekken 3. i played it in the arcades and loved it so much that i used to own everybody in my local arcade. people were actually scared of putting coins in the machine cos they knew i would be hiding somewhere....waiting for them...so i could challenge them lol. for this game i bought the PS1 and my second game i bought was ff7- i heard good things about this game and have loved the ff series ever since.
The first game that made me go "OMG I WANT A PLAYSATION" was Formula 1... I love my F1 racing. After that the great titles/franchise's just kept coming. Thank god for Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid!
i wasn't as aware of the gaming industry back in the mid to late ninties as i am now, so i wasn't aware of any consoles at the time other than the psone, coz that seemed to be the big name. i had a sega mega drive and loved it. but i got ff7 with my psone and when i turned it on and watched that opening fmv where we pull back from the ally all the way up till we can see the whole city i was amazed. never looked back
MGS for ps, no other game had such depth to it...i fell inlove that instant. The funny thing is i didnt get it, my big bro got it after we beat crash in like 3 hours lol(our first ps game). From then it took me 18 hours to beat mgs, laid out across maybe 3 months? lol...
I went to PlayStation because the Mega Man series went to PS. Mega Man and after playing Super Mario RPG on the SNES (What i owned before PS) i wanted more of Square's games, so i played FF7 and Xenogears (Xenogears being better) and was hooked. The Tomb Raider series also had me stay.

I just found my old copy of Megaman Legends 2. I can't wait to try it out again. That game was pretty good. Not the best. That title, IMO, belongs to MegamanX; a game worthy of a stellar remake (could become downloadable content).

MGS for PS , that game was unbelievable at that time ( and still is for me ) , the story, the gameplay, interaction with player , those are the key factors that amazed me for some time.hailltoyou
Me 2. I loved replaying Twin Snakes on my Wii last week. It's awesome... the cutscenes and graphics are much improved.
Oh wow, who could forget the very awesome Tekken 3 and the totally spectacular bonanza that was Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. I mean that is like the coolest title since the new Ace Combat's subtitle ("Fires of Liberation"). MGS2 rocked in storyline, and AI. I remember the first time that a soldier got me in a locker, SCARY lol. Two awesome games. It sealed the deal for the Playstations (1 and 2).
The original Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation. But not only did it make me fall in love with the Playstation franchise, it made me fall in love with gaming in general.
MGSwould bethe first game my brothers and I ever bought with our own money. It brought me into the world of gaming like nothing else before it so much thatnow we've spentabout or over$6500 in the past three platform generations (PS, Xbox, PS2, 360, soon-to-be PS3).
MGS is my favorite franchise and Snake is the only action-hero typecharacter with enough character to cause me toactually care about what would happen to him enough so that whileI wouldn't care about any other character putting a gun inside him mouth, I did about Snake.
Everyone used to go round my mums friends and play against each other. It was wicked fun. Then i as so shocked when i got a playstation 1 for my b-day. (I was 7 years old), i was like soooo happy and amazed lol.
