Why all the posts about game's failing recently:(...it's post and threads like this that make's game's fail before there even out...as big as mgs4 may or may not be constant doubts or hype means the game will stuggle to meat anyone's expections.
My advice is to wait untill it's out before you decide what to do if it fails, and remember kids it's only a game;)
[QUOTE="Deviltrigger"]if a mgs game never failed, why would this one?The_Tombo
are you seriously an idiot, why would you ask that question to a 30 year franchise which has yet to failLaszkiewicz
anybody remember snakes revenge ? :P
i'm pretty sure that's not even cannon...
Anyway, i think that the moment a MGS game will fail, will be the end of the gaming industry 'cose any other game already failed.
Really, the MGS games are the absolute highest quality video games in the industry, they usually have a development time of 3-4 years and cost 20 million $ + to produce per game (MGS4 is rumoured somewhere around 40 mil) and they are made by arguably the best dev team in the industry lead by the legendary Hideo Kojima, the most influential game developer ofour timesacording to the Times Magazine.
^ if that fails, all fails.

Ryan pyton.
Is that the guy looking over the US version? If so he has nothing to do with the outline of the game. The game is still a "like said" 40 million dollar or so project, being done by the best in the bizz. That dude just wants to make the game appeal to the US market. And thus make the game insanely hard.

he works for hideo as a 'developer', hes screwing up the game, it wont feel like a mgs game, beacause the dude wants the game to appel more to eastern gamers, in other words, he wants mgs to be a bioshock, halo, call of duty wanna be.
What will you do if Gear of War 2 sucks?
Sounds like Microsoft's Viral Marketing team is trying get a headstart on the war with MGS4. You see, they have to convince you that it sucks BEFORE you actually get a chance to play it for yourself. Because if left to his own devices, the customer will assume that Metal Gear Solid 4 is as good as the other Metal Gear games and buy it. MGS4 failing is so unlikely that it is unrealistic.

"What are you talking about?""
Hang around long enough youll see them. Hard to distinguish characters really. Sometimes they pawn themselves off as all around gamers or Sony fans for months, even years. It will make even more sense latter. If companies can find a way to sue the user. Which thats being looked into.

HUH? really i dont understand what you are implying, sorry im still half asleep, DAMN YOU COD4!
Well thats kinda the problem. The public cant know all that stuff as of now lol. Ill tell you this thow. How I know what some companies whant to do to the Users, is via my brother first. He spent 8 years at USC and now with IBM as one of the leads in the E commerce area "Mainly, hes been all around." Me and him are close, so I would take trips with him to where they would have work on repairing some "Versions" messed up system. On these trips I meet tuns of programmers and such, from all around. Thus I got to know them well, and when we talked about the tech industry and gaming. And over time a few mentions about companies advertising illegally came up. Or companies de faming other companies came up also. Like user reviews that are not really by the user, but via the other companies and such. You know how like CNET has user scores on products. And thus companies slap scores up via what "may not be" real users. Well now companies want to stop that. But you have to find a legal way of doing it. So what they want to find now is, can the user be legally hit, or sued or whatever. Just like can a user who post or de fames a product, can they be legally sued? And Micro and their user base is one of those areas. And the bigger question is to them, is the user just people, or employed. Which thus would make a users review illegal.Same goes for De faming products threw what seems to be just basic users. I mean how cheap would it be to just pay some rug rats to spit out some reviews, instead of spending millions on just one billboard in time sqaure. A user can be anyone, even a defaming on a message board. So will see over time?
Nah, MGS2 didn't fail. I do agree it's the weakest one of three available but no where was it bad.
I loved it it as much as 1 and 3.
Some things are not meant to fail, and Metal Gear franchise is one of them.
MGS4 wont fail. sony is so confident in mgs that they will give it the same treatment that heavenly sword got.....unlimited funds. heavenly swords only problem was that it came out after god of war. Metal Gear Solid 4 will be sonys new flag ship along side of heavenly, Gran tourismo, and Ratchet.
Snake is the new crash bandicoot

Lol, I can't argue that bud. He did looked like a girl the first time I saw him.
Overall I enjoyed it, not as much as the third installation but it is a direct continuation to MGS4. And raiden is back as well, but he sure has undergone some changes. I honestly believe it will be epic ending of the franchise. A icon figure as big as Mr. Kojima will not mess up this title.
