@Chutebox: Where did I say he will get impeached or Trump did something illegal? There's a pretty big gap in between Trump "coming out smelling like roses" and him doing something illegal. Besides, this is the only the beginning and the special counsel investigation will get a long time so you better get used to it.

He's clear. There's nothing. That's the big thing here. Never under investigation for ties with Russia is pretty big. Not only that, he wanted Comey to make sure no one else was. That's pretty big...

It doesn't matter. Trumpkin fans will just deny whatever he says.

Hell....you still have people saying the FBI, CIA, HLS, and NSA are all lying in their December and March reports. Even after classified documents were leaked showing that they have detailed proof. It's all a "media narrative".

For god sakes.

Have you ever sat down and read your own posts?

Because doesn´t your own hypocrisy sometimes shine through to you?

What comey says does not matter to you more than what you claim does not matter to people who are not alt-left like you are. You already have a opinion and no matter what facts comes up, that opinion will never change.

He's looking like a complete shit bird, anyone who denies that is being extremely partisan. Who the hell behaves like that lmao, Comey was stunned as well. The far right still defending Trump blindly on this issue after the facts presented by Comey are just hopeless.

While it's all very embarrassing and shows mass idiocy, it is nothing that will get him "impeached". The far left is nuts on that one too.

Meh, random failed attack. There is no hypocrisy because I don't deny facts simply because I support or unsupport X or Y position.

I'm simply calling out the Trumpturds for what they are known to do, and they are already doing it even as Comey talks. The far left does it too. This isn't complicated. Don't overthink it.

You were agreeing with yet another Mike Cernovich (Pizza Gate) conspiracy a few days ago. You're one of the last people who should be continuing with this off-topic personal attack.

lmao, are you people watching the same hearing I am or are you just trolling for fun? Comey straight up said he documented all this stuff to protect himself and the FBI because he thinks Trump is capable of lying.

And this juicy bit

My common sense told me that what was going on is, either he thought or someone told him, ‘you’ve already asked Comey to stay, and you didn’t get anything for it.’ And the dinner was an attempt to build loyalty...

What the president whispered in my ear was, I really look forward to working with you...

I’m sitting there thinking, three times we’ve already talked about me staying. My common sense told me, he’s looking to get something in exchange...

You're right. Lets impeach him for....?

He did nothing wrong and wasn't under investigation.

One could correctly say obstruction of justice. Telling or hinting at the head of an investigation while including their job in said conversation certainly qualifies.

And what did i agree with? try not be vague.

That's not fishing. That is obstruction of justice. Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with these terms if you are going to discuss them.

Second I never claimed to be a lawyer. One does not actually have to be one to understand the law....but if it makes you feel better I have actually had some legal classes.

But if we are going to hold users here to actual experience and knowledge of these subjects then very few of us can discuss the intelligence community and how it works. Fortunately for you I do in fact have that. So instead of listening to you discuss the topic one should pay attention to my posts.

Glad we got that sorted

Can you link when I denied a fact due to political views? I REALLY hope you aren't talking about Khand threads were he uses faulty data that is quickly refuted.

Good off-topic quote chain with completely bogus accusations about me though. You seem mad that I called out Trumpturds for what they famously do.

Oh my, John McCain performance at this very moment. Wow. You have to question his fitness to serve in office. He's mumbling and confused.

This is literally sad.

Someone needs to ask former Attorney General Loretta Lynch why she insisted to former FBI Director James Comey that he referred to the Hillary Clinton email investigation as a "matter" and not an investigation.

I think in the end, on balance, Republican "won" this round. Nothing nuclear came out of this and they ran through the point that he (personally) wasn't under investigation.

My main takeaways:

  • Comey calling the President a liar or that he could lie multiple times.
  • Comey burning people left and right.
  • Loretta Lynch and the "matter" or investigation thingy.
  • John McCain's fitness to serve in office.

Based on a couple comments Comey made about not being able to discuss certain issues in public it seems there is more going on that we aren't privy too. Including some issues about Trump himself.

Almost as dumb as democrats are if they think the AG meeting Comey does not seem to have been a badly done attempt to influence the election by influencing Comey.

But i have to say Comey seems to be a guy who is not dumb. Hitting both sides to seem more credible

But Trump is not looking good but also not too bad either and it's certainly not enough for a impeachment.

My takeaways:

  • I see the Russian meddling in the 2016 election as the most profound and blatant attack against America, its interests and values, since 9/11
  • Trump lied about why he really fired Comey. To fire the FBI director to, "in some way", alter an ongoing investigation is "a very big deal".

Sen. Angus King (D): When a President of the United States in the Oval Office says something like 'I hope'... Do you take that as a directive.

Comey: Yes

-

Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona): are you aware or anything that would make you believe that information exists that could be used to blackmail or coerce the administration?

Comey: that's a subject for investigation and not something i can comment on here.

-

Comey: They’re coming after America. Which I hope we all love, equally.

Comey We're talking about a foreign government trying to shape the way we think, we act, we vote

-

Sen. Ron Wyden (D): Did that dinner suggest that your job might be contingent on how you handled the investigation...

Comey: ...I got the sense my job would be contingent on how he thought I conducted myself and whether I demonstrated loyalty

What I saw from the part of this that I watched:

Trump wasnt under investigation back then. Not surprising as he's not smart enough to collude. He's just a useful idiot to Russia.

Comey definitely realized that Trump was trying to influence him to end Flynn's criminal investigation.

Flynn is under criminal investigation for dealings with Russian intelligence.

Trump is a terrible decision maker for getting involved with Flynn.

Trump is a liar, something we all knew anyway.

There always have been, it's just right-wing sites get more attention than left-wing. We just have to do ourselves a favor and only pay attention to the news organizations that do their best day-in and day-out to bring the facts to light.

CNN, BBC, PBS, ABC, CBS, Washington Post, and New York Times among them. Any talk that any of those organizations are false is itself false 99% of the time.

Anyone else notice how Trump supporters are using Mike Pence as the boogeyman right now like, "Don't vote out Trump because you totally hate Pence. You, not us, definitely not us, and you totally don't hate Trump as much as Pence. We love Pence, we're just thinking of you."

No they can't, or they would. You're being ridiculous.

Well you've got this odd situation where the Special Counsel has expanded his investigation to include the firing of Comey, which we know if nothing else by Comey's testimony that Mueller asked for the memos (why else would he need them?). Now, it's entirely possible that nothing comes out of that thread, but it just goes to Trump's inability to get out of his own way that in an effort to show everyone he was not being investigated, that he may brought himself under investigation.

Jeff Sessions got hit by a pretty big bus in this hearing. Comey states a lot of his decision making to not go to Sessions was motivated by facts the FBI knew about Sessions but could not share in a public setting.

Anyway, it's a waste of time to re-try the case with every new scrap of data. I don't think there's enough pointing to Trump and I think both the left and the right give him far too much credit. You've got one side that looks at every thing he does and spins into genius and the other side that spins it to something nefarious. He's not the Kwisatz Hadderach, he doesn't work in mysterious ways; it's entirely possible he's just a moron. Secondly, let's not lose sight of the Russian involvement in our election and the French election out of a need to indict or exonerate Trump. Whatever else, that happened, and even if it didn't affect the vote totals in the end, you don't let the gunman off because he missed.

This Loretta Lynch "matter" thingy might have some legs.

it could, but more likely because it allows people to change the story. On its own, a politician massaging verbiage is pretty unremarkable, but there's no harm in following up.

Comey stated he saw it as an attempt to line up the administration's message (something the current administration fails at every day) and felt that was wrong because the DOJ and its subordinates should always be independent in its actions and messaging. He's absolutely right. Lynch was wrong. But unless there's more to this, it sounds like accusations of gambling in a casino.

It is an unresolved matter as of now, with the president saying one thing and the former director of the FBI saying another.

Personally, I think it will come down to the 'tapes' Trump tweeted about and if/when the Senate receives them or subpoenas for them. If they exist at all, and if they don't....what in the hell was Trump tweeting about?!
