Poll Rate the Trump presidency in 2018 (37 votes)

A 14%
B 8%
C 5%
D 22%
F 51%

My score is a D. Lets look at some highlights as to why:

  • Stock market is performing at its worst since pre-2010
  • The world is laughing at the U.S for the first time in its history
  • Trump couldn't repeal Obamacare with a republican held congress
  • Mexico didn't pay for the wall, neither did taxpayers
  • Putin won the war in Syria, Assad will come back to power
  • Trump's inner circle are getting indicted left and right
  • Trump payed hookers using campaign finances
  • Trump used his organization to benefit himself instead of his communities (disgusting)
  • He should get banned on Twitter
  • Lost the house
  • Doesn't release his tax returns
  • North Korea hates the U.S again, didn't denuclearize after a big media stunt

-----

Positives?

  • Unemployment went down

I'll go with a "C" he's just average & he does everything half right when it comes to being Commander-in Chief.

Instead of being so uneducated like 99% of Trump's base, you Russian troll tell me which statement of my post is fake news? Like your fake lying orange president?

As I expected. Just like your lying president. You Trumpsters are like a cult.

Just answer me one "talking point."

Did he repeal and replace Obamacare?

Experts are predicting the stock market might crash soon in late 2019 or 2020. This is not going to look good for him or the GOP.

It's been 10 years since the last recession. So, I heard it's due time for another recession. So, get ready.

It's not him though, it's the fed.

I think that is the whole point of the trade war, to provide cover while the Fed implodes the economy.

F. Nothing positive yet. Unemployment was on a downward trajectory but is not expected to rise. The stock market tanked again.

Of course, the Supreme court should not be political and considering one voted against him, it´s not.

Conservative justices are just more in tune with the law than liberal justices who not only feel that it´s ok to be lawmakers but that foreign law is also relevant in America for some absurd reason.

Link? Also conservative judges don't always interpret the law in tune with the law.

So looking at how other countries solved issues is a negative? Nowhere in that article did it state she would apply foreign law. Just use it as a guide. Fail.

Also you didn't comment on conservatives and their incorrect interpretation of Amendments.

He gets a C from me. The left have lost their minds with how they react to him. He needs to help our health care system for me to give a higher grade. Too important to kick the can down the road.

no lies FACTS, the truth will set you free, i dont like the republicans or democrats, your girl nancy pelosi deserves to be in a white padded room, bunch of kooks, how anyone can support these establishment liberal and conservative kooks amazes me. I cant stand politicians because they all sound like robots, at least trump tells you what he thinks whether you hate or like it, all the past presidents just said what made people feel good inside and did the opposite.

B or C depending on the day.

Some of the things he has accomplished that I agree with are his attempts to improve services for veterans (the VA is one thing that gives me pause on the idea of giving the government control of healthcare), his willingness to help some reformed criminals, him actually putting our country over others, and his attempts to secure our border. If he can get us a better deal on trade then I'm for it, if he can't then it sucks for us.

On the other hand, I am not a fan of many of his views on climate change, and while I am against using the military as a social experiment, I disagree with him doing an outright transgender ban and feel that it should be a case by case basis. In other words, if they can meet both the physical and mental standards then let them serve, but don't lower the standard just to satisfy people that think the military should be more inclusive.

By the way, people that hate Trump should be against him being banned from Twitter. The satisfaction you would get from him not being able to rant on Twitter will only be brief, and would pale in comparison to the amount of people that would rally behind him with the view that the establishment is just trying to silence him and it would only help him in the polls. Not to mention the ACLU and other organizations have used his unfiltered tweets against him in court, something he wouldn't have to worry about with his advisors and lawyers able to filter his words.

Could have fooled me, with your topics as well as your responses to people you assume are hardcore Trump supporters that are filled with ridicule and/or hatred. I have no issues being friendly with people that have different political views than me; the woman that works across the hall from me attended the first Women's March and we get along just fine. How do you get along with people that don't share your political views?

You seem mistaken from my post. I wasn't asking you to get along with me, I was just pointing out that if someone is to the point that they won't even give someone that has a different political opinion than them the time of day then they probably need to chill out. Whether or not you do so is up to you, but I know that when I go out in the real world, I don't judge people by their political leanings unless it crosses into bigotry.

I gave him an F on the poll, but looking at a few recent news. I will upgrade that to a D. Bringing back troops is ALWAYS commendable.

I think when grading the President on his job, it's good to use an objective formula. This is my template, and my main factors for judgig the performance of a President is to grade him against each of the titles he is Chief.

https://assets.pearsonschool.com/asset_mgr/legacy/200938/section1_jobdescription_26523_1.pdf

Chief of state - The President as ceremonial head of the United States

Chief executive - The President as the holder of the executive power of the United States

Chief administrator - The President as the leader of the executive branch of the federal government

Chief diplomat - The President as the main architect of American foreign policy and the nation’s chief spokesperson to other countries

Commander in chief - The top person in charge of the nation’s armed forces

Chief legislator - The President as the main author of public policy

Chief of party - The President as the leader of his or her political party

Chief citizen - The President as the representative of all the people

Analysis on Trump's performance against this criteria forthcoming, but I'm headed to work now.

So looking at how other countries solved issues is a negative? Nowhere in that article did it state she would apply foreign law. Just use it as a guide. Fail.

Also you didn't comment on conservatives and their incorrect interpretation of Amendments.

Yes, looking to other countries is an issue, they need to look at American law and the intent behind the laws made in this country, not the law in England or Canada.

And not sure which amendment you think the conservatives justices are incorrectly interpreting.

You do know you need to change and adapt? And the second amendment for one......

And you change and adapt by making American laws and interpret the constitution not by looking to other countries.

It's an abysmal failure. He's set the country up for some short term gains by cutting taxes but doesn't care about long term consequences. He's also completely ignored healthcare and is actively working to sabotage it, yet his followings are cheering him on when they're actually being hurt by it. This is ignoring his awful foreign policy record, which has essentially set the table for Russian resurgence in Europe and central Asia, along with him potentially facing JAIL-TIME if he were to exit the White House today.

The only 'plus' a Trump supporter could list is the SC appointments, which if you're a democrat, is a hard negative. The rest is a circus showcased by the revolving door of cabinet members leaving day after day.

@jeezers: dude. It was clitions actions that allowed the bubble to be successful.

And Obama actions did do a full turn to the economy. His bail outs actually helped the economy not become the 2nd depression. He kept the auto industry from collapsing with his bail outs which save hordes of jobs including my fathers and literlly jump start the heart of the then dying us car industry.

Do not tell me Obama did not do anything, I lived it. The economy was so well that it last 2 years into trump's presidency.

Note how all the gains of this year is gone and the dow is officially in a bear market.

That's all trump and the republicans fault. Just like how it happened with bush.

Also added if you have issue with obamacare funding then you need to look to your state as the cause. Many Republican Governers refused their states funding for obama care which drove the coat of insurance up.

I am not a fan of Trump.

But it would be disingenous to say it is all Trump and the Republican's Fault. Hell, even back during the election, people, including trump knew the economic bubble was going to burst soon. Did Trump, make the situation any better? No, he made it worse and most likely accelerated it. But economics is a complex topic. And pinning it all on one cause, is just too disingenous.

  • Obama's economy focused heavily on fixing the short term problems rather than finding solutions for the long term.
  • Global Economy Moves in waves
  • Increasing competition from the east

@Maroxad: I'll give you that. But Obama's action were the first to start to shift the economy out of a dependece on oil and a shift to green energy which is on the raise today. Add we would be in a depression now if he did not do what he did. The only thing he could do is build a new foundation for out economy to expand from. It ontended to be a start to the solution not the full solution itself.

The only reason the bubble of the economy broke is because the current administration deregulation and allowing the 1% to get as much money out of the market before bailing. Trump has literally done nothing for the economy bit deregulate and give tax cut for the rich. That means less money going to the middle class that keepa the economy up and more poor because companies refusal to pay more. Mind Obama on his last 2 year of president was trying to raise minimum wage to $15 because he understood that and he was refected by that by the republican owned house.

For any economy to continue to expand it need money and resorces to circulate. The rebublicans have done everything to stop that from refusal to raise minimum wage to major tax cut for the rich.

No matter how you cut it the current fall of the dow is on their hands.
