@Solaryellow: Well you main the claim so I was hoping you’d back it up and list some examples. For example, c*** can’t be as bad as the N-word since you yourself are perfectly okay saying c*** in this very same thread but only refer to the N-word as... the N-word.

Not doing yourself any favours lol. Where was all this defending when Hillary Clinton got called stuff way worse than Ivanka?

Our moderators will not allow (nor should it) such hateful words to be typed. I know full well what would happen if I spelled out the N word just as I know what would happen if I spelled out the C word...which I haven't BTW. As a matter of fact, a post or two of mine had the edited C word completely removed.

The defense is not if someone is racist or sexist. The defense is not excusing either individual of what she said. The defense is the double standard. Neither chick should lose their job over a stupid comment. Even the MSNBC chick who is under fire now for questionable tweets or blogs should not lose her job. I can't pretend to know what specific incidents you are referring to with Klinton so I won't. Be specific if you want an answer.

on substance we agree.

I feel neither one of them should have been fired or censorred for the comments HOWEVER, that doesnt give a person immunity from blowback from others. nor does it 'trump' a companies desire and plan to make money. but pure on substance of comment in of itself people should be allowed to say,

that said, in my mind the two statements are not equivalent. but by the same token the theory behind free speech teaches that we can not censor based on which one we consider worse then the other

The babe in the woods routine is not flattering. Every individual group has something extremely offensive whether it being a woman, homosexual, religious affiliation, etc..,. Perhaps you've been told there aren't worse words than those used to denigrate blacks but that simply isn't true.

not remotely true

when the history is of a black man calling a white man a 'cracker' after he walks away vs a white man calling a black man a N while he burns his church down and hangs him is completely different.

Blacks aren't the only ones to be persecuted after being called harmful words. You have it embedded in your mind the N word is the most offensive word in existence and quite frankly, your foundation is not solid. History has shown us otherwise. Unless you are in the shoes of the individual you do not have the position to dictate to others the toxicity of words and how offended or scarred the focus of such words should feel.

'persecuted' is not a fair word to describe what blacks had to suffer in this country.

sorry but there isnt any equivalency and whites will just have to suck it up and cry a river in thier own time over being called a cracker.

Visit an MRA/Red Pill/MGTOW/PUA forum full of Trump supporters and see all of the awful things they say about women. Then come back and try to tell me with a straight face that these same people are outraged by the C word.

From what I saw, both of them were wrong. Roseanne was wrong for her racist tweet, and there is no excuse for racism, period. Bee was wrong for calling Ivanka the c-word, and calling her that isn't going to magically make our immigration policies more friendly to foreigners.

What a lot of people here don't seem to get is the outrage was more because of the double standard than anything else; with Bee being able to walk away and keep her show after apologizing (along with several other comedians that have insulted conservatives, such as Steven Colbert's holster comment about Trump and Putin) while Roseanne was fired within hours of her comment.

But at the same time, it was two different networks, who knows if Bee would have kept her job if she said that on ABC, or that Roseanne would have been puled if it was on TBS?

By the way, before anyone throws Ted Nugent at me, him calling Hillary Clinton the c-word was absolutely disgusting, and I don't know why anyone would defend him for doing it. You can show that you disagree with someone's political policies without lowering yourself to insults.

Considering the nature of ABC, if Bee had said the same thing she would not have lost her job if her show was on ABC.

The problem ABC have is with conservatives not the once on the left, just ask the cast of Last Man Standing.

although that is most likely true, consider the context of the specific value stances that define a 'conservative' within the context of what was said.

put that on for size and see how well it fits
