Wish Zelensky would stop leeching US money. Wish US representatives would stop selling us out to Ukraine to prop up the military industrial complex.

To me what it's a couple of things.

1. A juvenile like "I must do the opposite of what Biden does". Like, lit child level stuff. An opportunity to tar him.

2. America First! Not our problem! Which translates as "I am a boastful sociopath and totally not xenophobic"

3. Russia is effectively right-wing, utilizing and emphasizing it to get both a Us VS Them rhetoric within Russia and appealing to "anti woke" crowds in the West. i.e. Fox News and the types that watch it...

It's no coincidence the right-wing types are badly attempting to hide, or in some cases, straight up lauding Russia with false narrative.

The war with Russia is really a battle of old thinking VS new thinking, right down to even the way Russia fights.

Said it a couple of times but Russia biggest enemy, is Russia. Had they actually been like the countries they hate so much right now, Ukraine would have fallen a while back.

But... they are stupid. Corrupt to the bone. A paper tiger flapping around their hands to distract from the fact.

@uninspiredcup: You forgot the "I hate the west" types and the "I dont want my tax money to go to this" types. Nevermind the fact that stopping Russia here and now, is going to be signficantly cheaper than WW3. Or the economic crises that would spring up from this (food).

I believe Ukraine should be free from Russia, but I also argue that even on a selfish end, this is a mayor geopolitical win to support Ukraine.

So now they have jumped from "he is not wearing a suit" to a viral comedy sketch parody vid saying OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HE'S A GAY THAT'S NOT MANLY LOL OHHHHHHHHHHH

(mouth dribble)

Not really getting (not that it wouldn't mean anything if he was) that it's not actually reality.

Starting to kind of grasp now why in your America, you kinda view conservatives as low intelligence.

https://news.bitcoin.com/russia-to-ban-banks-from-using-messengers-like-telegram-to-contact-customers/

Russia to Ban Banks From Using Messengers Like Telegram to Contact Customers

Financial institutions in Russia will not be able to communicate with clients through instant messengers based outside the country, local media revealed. A new law passed by the State Duma also prohibits banks from using chats to send personal data and payment documents.

Bill Restricts Russian Banks and Brokers From Sending Sensitive Information Through Foreign Messengers

Banks in the Russian Federation will not be allowed to contact their customers on a number of popular messengers, according to new legislation approved by the lower house of parliament. The ban applies to foreign-based platforms.

A list of the affected apps is yet to be published by Roskomnadzor, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media, but Telegram, Whatsapp, Viber, and the like fit the description, the business daily Kommersant reported.

The draft law, passed by the State Duma in the third reading, also restricts the use of this type of messaging service for correspondence containing sensitive information like personal data or documents related to payments and money transfers.

The restrictions concern not only banks but all other financial organizations as well, including brokers, companies operating in the securities market, management firms, investment funds, and private pension funds and depositories, the article details.

Digital Development Ministry to Oversee the Implementation of the New Restrictions

According to Anatoly Aksakov, head of the parliamentary Financial Market Committee, the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media will be tasked to oversee the ban, not the Central Bank of Russia in this case. Commenting for Kommersant, he also stated:

Credit organizations, of course, are very careful about the implementation of the law, and are unlikely to violate it. Therefore, obviously, they will take steps to avoid falling under sanctions.

Speaking to the newspaper, members of the industry noted that instant messengers are rarely used to communicate with clients, especially by large players who have developed their own applications featuring built-in support chats.

Others employ third-party solutions, most often secure platforms for communicating with clients, exchanging documents, concluding agreements, uploading data, and reporting to the central bank, explained Tatyana Evdokimova, an investment advisor. “We know what personal data protection is, and we have been complying with certain requirements for a long time,” she emphasized.

The Russian Economy is tanking hard, and we are seeing a situation not all too similar to the fall of the Soviet Union.

Afghanistan and now Ukraine. I hope when all is said and done, Putin will be reviled for its cruelty and incompetence.

@horgen: On New Years Eve Russia launched 100+ missiles on civilian infrastructure to try to demoralize Ukraine. Even today they have downed 40 drones.

2 people killed (civs) Which itself, isn't good. But take into account the cost, effort and intent.

"1" HIMAR strike, most likely exacerbated by Russia stupidity, keeping 600+ men, in the zone of combustible ammunition will spread negative news on Russian telegram channels. Where even the propagandists themselves can't hide it. Just turn into a "blame the general" game as it typically always does.

Russia, lulzy tried to claim they destroyed more HIMARS than were actually given. When in reality there is evidence they still haven't managed to get a single one.

Ukraine is so confident with them, they can light them up like a Christmas tree.

They are out of there before the thing even hits its target. Only good intelligence or drone can get them really, and even then, too late. Too mobile.

Mobile + accuracy + US intel + closer frontlines + Russia being a terrible army = good

@horgen:Russia will blame what's beneficial to Russia.

Part of their narrative isn't that they are fighting Ukraine but Nato, and mercenaries. As the concept of Ukraine defeating them up doesn't sound good.

In the case of inside the Russia army internally, it's chain of vranyo.

"oh, i'm outraged as well, we must find out who is responsible"

Which translates as "Oh shit, I must find an easy scape-goat"

That mentality is partly why it's such a shitty army. It's a chain of lies of people protecting their ass that reaches the very top where they get a distorted picture.

@kathaariancode: True, but largely irrelevant. Russia will lie either way. Even the casualty count they are clearly lying.

Even using it as propaganda, making out it's their 911. Ignoring the fact the day prior they are purposefully targetting civs, and the day after day prior they are purposefully targetting civs.

Sad state of affairs but for me personally, any sympathy initially had is gone. It's just fewer killers, rapists and looters. Russia's propaganda has been breeding these people to view Ukraine as subhuman. Which means it's a free pass to enact barbarism. Not nice but it's probably prevented a few hundred peeps from doing some pretty horrible nightmare shit.

Russia is less an army and more a bunch of criminal opportunists.

UK to send Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine

Next question is Leo 2s. Finland and Poland have already given promises to send some Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, but most important in this is Germany who has hesitated. Finland could in theory probably send all our 130 2A4s to Ukraine, we don't really need that many tanks. Our 100 2A6s should suffice for us. Our geography isn't really suited for large scale tank combat, tanks are mostly used in support of infantry. But I think we have promised to send a dozen or so.

Ukraine has asked around 300 modern tanks to spearhead their offensive to try to drive the orcs back to Mordor.

Big question will be training, maintenance and supplies. Too many different tanks will put a huge strain on all of these.

The wording here also reaffirmed what they are hoping for, public fatigue. Which propagandists and Republicans have been attempting to facilitate.

Talking about escalating while they continue to target civilians.
