What happened to this song anyway? It didn't even appear in the game..SuperSmashBro1It's a bit too tame, I think, and doesn't have any sort of Sonic feel to it.
I like this better. I LOVE THIS SONG!!

Let's face it, modern Sonic's got some funky fresh moves. How about a dance off with Mario?

Now let's give them Ectasy and glow sticks.
Times like this make me wish my Mario DDR mat still worked. How dare Mario betray's Konami for Ubisoft.
I say Konami should team up with Sega and make DDR:Sonic Boom Mix.Solid Snake could even be a guest character.
500 play coins later,I finally finished all the missions in Sonic Generations 3D,and S-Ranked every level,so basically completed both versions of Generations 100%.
I even saved mission 100 for last, there was nothing more epic then fighting the Time Eater with the Super Sonic Remix playing.
Well I nearly got all the red rings finally. For modern Sonic the only red rings remaining are that one in the temple in Seaside Hill which is such a pain to reach and 2 in Planet Wisp I just haven't found yet.
My 6 year old nephew has the 3DS version and I played it. It's not bad but definitely doesn't have the wow factor of it's console big brother. Though my nephew is ga ga for Sonic. Old/New, 2D/3D doesn't matter though in this game he just calls them "big Sonic" and "little Sonic."
Oh and he loves the special stage music in 3DS Generations. No, he has not played Sonic Heroes.
Worst side missions? That's a tough one for me since I actually enjoyed the side missions a lot more than the main levels. Yes, I know the Doppleganger races were basically the same level, but with tougher time constraints, but at least you weren't driving yourself crazy scrambling for collectibles and I usually commenced the missions long after I'm done s-ranking the stages, which made them feel more manageable.
Alright, lets say the doppleganger race in Sky Sanctuary Zone Act 2. Basically because it's a doppleganger race in my most hated stage in the game. That section where you abseil and are expected to jump to the right to find another rail I can never get to trigger at the right time.
Planet Wisp Act 2: Challenge 4 was kind of irritating because I'm just not a fan of how they implemented the lightspeed dash in this game. (mind, it's only a problem on two occassions in this mission).
Edit: Oh God. Forget I said any of that. Totally agree on the Rooftop Run balloon mission. I must have tried to erase it from my mind.
Just had a randomly inspired thought:
After beating Generations, it should be an Easter Egg that if you go back and re-fight Metal Sonic, you do so in the Good Future of Stardust Speedway. You did fix time, after all.
sonicphc
You should send that suggestion to Sega for DLC.
I still think for DLC there should be Lava Reef, Metal Harbor, and either Windmill Isle or Aquarium Park.Cloud_765
We've already got a fire level, though. I think Sandopolis would be a much better choice over Lava Reef. Modern could get outside the pyramid where there's lots of room to run, and Classic could get inside the pyramid where the slow, ghosty platforming happens.
So I played and finished the 3DS Generations and it's ok but I don't recommend it unless you just want to see the different levels used.
While I don't hate Dimps (or like everyone else, liked them until it was announced they were making Sonic 4 and then they were the devil), it does mostly feel like Sonic Rush 4 with some stages that don't have a dash attack and I don't mind retro Sonic having a homing attack, personally I would've liked if the console version had the option to let classic Sonic use a homing attack, like as something you bought at Omochao's shop so you had to option to use it.
While it was nice seeing different stages used like Casino Night, Mushroom Hill, etc. I was rather disppointed that there were less stages. Nice to see Sonic Rush get a stage even if it was the obligatory water level but why not use something from one of the Sonic Advance titles or Sonic Rush Adventure (Coral Cave would've been my pick there). Also it's the same story minus Sonic's supporting friends and less epic showing stills from the console cutscenes.
This will probably be one I trade in soon for Kid Icarus Uprising.

You can unlock the Homing Attack Skill for Retro Sonic in the console versions by collecting all 5 Red Star Rings in Planet Wisp Act 1. The difference was that it was optional instead of required.

Alot of fans agree that there should have been more handheld games represented. I would have loved to see Music Plant or Cyber Track.

*Says we have a lava level already, there's about three city levels*
Well Mario always gets flack for using the same level themes over and over but Sonic is just as bad.
The first level of most games is almost always some tropical, beach like area with palm trees.
The water level is almost always accompanied by ruins of sorts.
City Levels
Lava levels
Casino/Carnival levels
Forest levels
Snow levels usually with snowboarding
Eggman's levels are almost always some sort of mechanical, space or flying fortress type area
Give Sonic Colors credit, because it did somewhat break out of the mold. The first stage wasn't a beach and the water level didn't have ruins and for me at least Planet Wisp felt distinctly original.
I would have complained about the city levels more if they were actually bad (Crisis City was done better in this than it's debut, although I still say the platforming can be a bit unforgiving as well as that damn tornado), but I love what they did with Speed Highway (I really like Act 1), and everyone knows how much I love following my rainbow in City Escape. Act 1's music is sex.Soniczero1993
Oh hell yeah though Brainscratch made the comment that the updated Crisis City is still the glichiest of the stages but the upside is when using a Sonic 06 level there's no where to go but up.
Speed Highway was well done but I am rather surprised that was the pick for Sonic Adventuregiven the other urban stages. With Emerald Coast being referenced too many times and in the 3DS version, my SA pick would've been Windy Valley.
City Escape was a no brainer. I mean that's the stage everyone thinks of with Sonic Adventure 2. I mean it starts with Sonic jumping out of a plane using a wing piece to snowboard down San Fransisco and it end with him outrunning a truck. Also I know it's being nitpicky but in the 3DS game the SA2 representation is Radical Highway which was not a stage Sonic played, but Shadow. Yes Shadow controlled just like Sonic so it doesn't matter.
Also Rooftop Run was also a city though a different sort of city with more old world flair and most of the Unleashed day stages were in towns though Holoska, Mazuri or Chunan might have been nice. (Holoska music FTW!!) And Chu Nan is awesome because it had giant dragons to run on (in the 360/PS3) versions.
Supposedly these stages were chosen by fans who were asked which stages from each "main" game should be shown off. Still I am wondering if we're ever going to get any DLC from Sega.
Better than all of that. Mine kart level.
For those who don't know the reference, this is it. Exactly like that. That speed, that one hit kill.
Oh, no no no. That would be too nice. If you mess up, you get trapped in a completely inescapable situation which continually gives you hope that you might be making progress towards the end. Once you realize what's going on, you can't kill yourself - you can only wait for Time Over. One screw up and you get crushed.
