I don't know why everybody slags Labrinth off. Replace Sonic with another character and you've got an alright game. It's even better just BECAUSE it's Sonic-themed, and given that the advertising and packaging material for it even describes the gameplay, no one could possibly have bought it thinking it was a "proper" Sonic game.
Anyway, it has to be either Sonic 2006, or the Riders series, which should never have happened.
There's pretty crappy like some of the newer 3D games but then there's games that are just all bad all the time.
- Sonic Labyrinth
- Sonic Jam (Tiger's Game.com)
- Sonic Schoolhouse
- Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis)
- Sonic Spinball (Game Gear version)
- Sonic Genesis (GBA)

add Sonic Next Gen and Sonic Drift and here you have my choices
A while back I complied a list of "Sonicspot's Worst Sonic games Ever" basically I went through our review archive and found the games with the lowest ratings and complied them into a top ten worst list.

Amazingly no one has come into this thread to defend Sonic 06. Maybe it's because Sega admitted that game was crap and wasn't finished properly and if Sega thought Sonic06 was crap, who are we to argue?

I played Labyrinth. It felt clunky. It was boring. Bosses were unforgiving.
Even if it wasn't Sonic the game still sucked.
I would call it a mixed bag, personally. Sub par by series standards for sure. But for every frustratingly awful moment there's an equally amazing one. I firmly believe it would be remembered as the best 3D Sonic game had SEGA finished the damned thing. Fix the glitches, frame rate, and load times and you've got yourself one hell of game. As is, it stands as an embarrassment on the record of Sonic Team Japan.A while back I complied a list of "Sonicspot's Worst Sonic games Ever" basically I went through our review archive and found the games with the lowest ratings and complied them into a top ten worst list.

I played Sonic 06 and reviewed it for this site and it almost really made me mad that the POTENTIAL for something really good was there but they booted it out before it was finished. Why because Sega HAD to have it out in time for Christmas and the PS3 launch. Rumor has it the testers even told them it was broken and needed work and they were fired.

I was fine with the game, except for 4-3. A lousy maze with exactly one answer and not enough time, though with the game's best music.Sonic R
Sonic Labrtyhn
Sonic Shuffle
Sonic Drift
Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis

The none Sonic games
Tails Skypatrol
Shadow the Hedgehog
i thought sonic unleashed was decent yes it was flawed but i dnt think those flaws make it the worst sonic game.
I think the 2 worst sonic games are sonic labyrinth and sonic spinball gamegear
Sonic Unleashed (360)
Why?
Because out of all the horrible ones, this one cost the most money.

.....where exactly did you buy it from?

Gamestop 8)That's odd. The price was 50$ everywhere else.
I don't know about you guys but I think Black Knight would have to be the worst Sonic game in existence. Shadow the Hedgehog was pretty bad too, but at least you weren't forced to use weapons in it.RyaganInstead you got forced vehicle levels.

Define weapon.
I fail to see how Black Knight was a bad game. It was as much of an action title as it was a platformer, but it didn't have to be a pure platformer. It was a spin-off. Complaining that he has a weapon in Black Knight is like complaining that he has a tennis racket in SEGA Superstars Tennis. The game had great graphics, great presentation, great music, good online features, a rock solid frame rate, and a good story. The combat involved waggle, but it was still responsive and intuitive. My single biggest complaint about the game was its difficulty (or lack thereof). But regardless, you cannot deny that the game set a new standard for the series in terms of presentation. The music, the sounds, the cut scenes, the menu navigation... it just oozed styIe. I'm sick of people bashing Sonic games without thinking for themselves. Sonic having weapons is not cause to call it a bad game. Criticize the game itself if you'd like to. Tell me how you had a problem with the controls or how you didn't like the music. Come up with something substantive. Don't just tell me you dislike the concept and therefore it cannot possibly be enjoyable. The entire point of a spin-off is to place a familiar character in a new setting and break away from what fans are used to seeing from him. SEGA decided to make an action platformer, and fans complain that it isn't enough like Sonic 2. I'll never understand some Sonic fans. It's either blind loyalty or blind bashing of anything that doesn't remind them of Genesis Sonic. There can be no in between.savebattery
the problem with black knight was the combat. I found the combat very dull and i noticed a delay at times between when i swing the wii mote and when sonic swings the sword. The problem was that the combat to me felt forced at times kind of like how the werehog levels in sonic unleashed involved forced combat. take a few steps take out 20 enemies rinse and repeat.
With black knight its run for a bit waggle the wiimote for about 30 seconds rinse and repeat. To me it eventually got dull yes black knight is not bad as some people say and i disagree with gamespot and the other websites that gave the game a 4.5 or 3.9 but i dont think the game is an 8 or 7. i would give black knight a 5.7 out of 10. There is some fun to be had but the combat got repetitive and dull atleast for me.
UNDERRATEDDDShadow the Hedgehog. Enough said.
.....Don't get me started on that, please. :x

Swords, guns, etc.
the point is in Shadow the Hedgehog, you could avoid the guns, with Black Knight you HAVE to use the swordAre we all in agreement that Sonic Free Riders is a contender for Worst Sonic Game ever?kbaily
any unfinished game is a contender for worst game. Will it be, probably not. Savebattery did bring up a good point about spinoff games getting unnecessary hate too. People don't seem to play Sonic games for what they ARE.
Are we all in agreement that Sonic Free Riders is a contender for Worst Sonic Game ever?kbailyNo. It'll have bad controls from being a Kinect game, but I doubt it will really be too bad. A port to the Wii/PS3 would likely work out better since you'd get buttons to work with.

Sonic Free Riders isn't taking so much heat for being a Sonic spinoff (a lot of us here like Riders) but more or less doomed along with Kinect. Sega always gets Sonic on the bandwagon when a new tech comes out. Sega Superstars came out not long after the Eyetoy, Secret Rings was heavy into the Wii motion controls (later games toned it back) and there was even an early DS game that was going to be stylus exclusive controls (but it was dumped for Sonic Rush). I'm actually surprised that they didn't make a Sonic game for Sony's Move.

Microsoft grabbed them first, or they'd have a Move game. They were probably promised big bucks to only be on Kinect, not Move. Please Log In to post.
