Yeah!!! Till the buckeyes lose it!!! GO BLUE!

Not trying to be negative to Michigan fans, but after their seasons major downfalls, I mean embarrassing losses to the point where people will talk about it for years to come, how can they even be hopeful to beat OSU?

Michigan vs.Ohio Stateis greater than any other rivalry in college football, to millions of people andto the top sports analysts in the country. These two schoolshave one of thelongest histories of playing each other, theywant to beat each other more than anything I've ever seen. The fans also play a huge role in this rivalry by supporting their teams with such emotion and they think about this game all year long.

Sure there's other great rivalries in NCAA football, but you can't put anyone next to or above Michigan vs. Ohio State simply b/c of how good these two schools football programs are. And as state before, this game usually decides who's going to the national championship or the rosebowl for the big ten crown which can't be said for Auburn and Alabma

Toyeboy

Thank you. As much as people love to hate OSU - Michigan game, it's the biggest. Anyone in denial is a hater and is just mad because those two teams have something theirs never will.

I just hope that if Michigan can pull it out that they play Oregon in the Rose Bowl... unfortunately, Oregon needs some help from USC for this to happen since Arizona State is in the drivers seat for the Pac 10 as of now... those Arizona Wildcats ruined the potential Oregon v Michigan rematch... I want redemption! Doesn't look like I'll get it this year haha. If Michigan can get into the Rose Bowl, I think the long rest before it will do them TONS of good, and they WILL show up to the game this year (unlike last).

you'll probably want to watch other games then, because I promise there are more engaging story lines than either osu or mich winning the big ten every year

The fans also play a huge role in this rivalry by supporting their teams with such emotion and they think about this game all year long. Toyeboy

i think thats pretty much the standard for all rivalries, please don't act like other players and fans dont pour their hearts and souls into their rivalries

And as state before, this game usually decides who's going to the national championship or the rosebowl for the big ten crown which can't be said for Auburn and Alabma Toyeboy

i think conferences that have more than 2 competitive teams get pretty bored of this non-argument

While I agree the media hypes it (and this is prob. because beside the SEC's hate for the Big Ten, OSU is still one of the more popular and profitable college teams in the league). Yes certain rivalry is more important to respective regions, I won't disagree with that...and highly respect that.

But calling OSU-Michigan as a whole with that type of history over-rated, is nothing but pure joke in it's finest form.

All you SEC posers need to give it a rest, your complaint about the Big 10 only having 2 legit teams is silly, what 2 teams have really made any national orCONFERENCE noise in the SEC? LSU and Florida? What do you call that? Oh sure Auburn went undefeated a few yearsback and got screwed (I'll give you that) but what else has Georgia, Arkansas, Tennesse('98), Alabama, Miss., Miss. St., Vanderbilt, Kentucky, S. Carolina done? Nothing that's what, but you want to cry about themhaving to beat up on each other that it makes it such a tough conference, well guess what knuckleheads, Wisconsin, Purdue, Iowa, Mich. St., Penn State, North Western, Minnesota and now Illinoisall have to beat up on each other also, which means that just like the SEC, the Big 10 has solid teams that could challenge anyone out there but because of the competition in the conference, it is hard to go undefeated and on any given Saturday you can get knocked down.

It'sthe same sports writers/announcers that say day in and day out that you have the best conference, that are calling this the best rivalry EVER, but now you want to cry about it,it's not the U-M/OSU alumni who make it responsible for all the hype that gets placed on our rivalry, it's the people who know just what it is...THE BEST RIVALRY IN SPORTS! We know we have the biggest and best rivalry, and it is alive and well, in the Big 10! So stop your whinning, or at least get some cheese to go with it.

And oh yeah, before I forget, Go Blue, we are gonna kick OSU's A$$, Buckeyes are going down as long as Mike Hart and Chad Henne are in the game, if they aggrevate their injuries and leave the game, then it will be a uphill battle, but we will still claim victory and put ourselves back on top where we should be. (Not bad after starting the year so dismal, but we righted the ship and made a run at a title)

[QUOTE="geaux321"]

[QUOTE="ScoopyMcScoop"]Auburn Alabama does not = Michigan OSU. Maybe to you, but to the rest of the country UM OSU is bigger. This has been seen through polls for years. Even in an off year people love this rivalry... not to say Auburn Alabama isn't good though, it's an awesome rivalry too, but it's not on the same level for most people, and that's fact, numbers don't lie.murlow12

I'm sorry, I can't take rivalries serious when they aren't in the same state, it's at a different level. The media is just on the side of Ohio St. and Michigan which is why most people tend to think it's the best rivalry.

That's true. Natural geographic rivalries mean more. But to be fair, Ann Arbor and Columbus are only 200 miles apart. That's much closer than my favorite inter-state rivalry, Dodgers/Giants.

Don't kid yourselves. OSU Michigan is THE biggest rivarly in sports. Did anyone watch the HBO special on it? It comes from territorial disputes in the 1830's over the toledo region. In the words of my high school weight trainer, "football's the closest thing we've got to two towns coming together and fighting." The territorial dispute is the root of the rivalry, and these football games have been its medium of expression. OSU Michigan is HUGE, bigger than Auburn/Alabama or Army/Navy - just get over it. For over a century it has been, and it will stay that way.

This rivalry isn't as good as it used to be....Ohio State just won and it was a VERY dull game and a POOR performance by my Michigan Wolverines, I hope Llyod Carr get's fired....Michigan didn't even act fired up for this game and their offensive line and wide receivers play a VERY bad game. My Michigan pride has been damaged...and it won't get any better until a NEW coach comes in and puts together all of michigan's talent in the proper way.

Well this one is in the books. Michigans season started off terrible, and ends the same. Lloyd Carr will no longer be Michigans head coach. Michigan fans were all over the TV crying after the loss. Great job OSU!!! You've had a better than expected season. Big 10 champs! Next up, Rose Bowl!

Oh, who called it? Check out that Buckeye defense. And what a classy way to end it. All together now...

Oh come let's sing Ohio's praise
And songs to Alma Mater raise
While our hearts rebounding thrill
With joy which death alone can still
Summer's heat or winter's cold
The seasons pass the years will roll
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!

These jolly days of priceless worth
By far the gladdest days on earth
Soon will pass and we not know
How dearly we love Ohio
We should strive to keep thy name
Of fair repute and spotless fame
So in college halls well grow
And love thee better ... OHIO!

Though age may dim our mem'ry's store
We'll think of happy days of yore
True to friend and frank to foe
As sturdy sons of Ohio
If on seas of care we roll
Neath blackened sky or barren shoal
Thoughts of thee bid darkness go
Dear Alma Mater...OHIO!

I agree with that statement, but OSU just can't score to keep up with any of those teams. They just have to hope that Oregon somehow beats UCLA next week to secure the spot. Without Dixon, OSU has a chance.

If it's so boring to watch the big ten why watch it? And boring is an opinion not a fact, so in your opinion it was boring.

It was cold and raining, lets see how well your PAC-10 survives in a trench matchup in those conditions. Running and Defense wins those games.

Say what you want about the Buckeyes, but the PAC-10 isn't anything special either.

and what do you mean score? other then Oregon (which averages 40pts a game, but thats was with Dixon) OSU averages more poitns a game at 32 then the rest of the PAC-10 (ESPN), and only allow 10pts.

Come on now... we'll see though.

Michigan got spanked. OSU is better. Cry like all the little Michigan babies on TV did after OSU ran all over that field and embarrassed all Wolverine fans and OSU haters. OSU haters are eating their words once again!

The South stinks. North vs South, remember that? Biggest CFB GOTY will always be OSU vs Michigan, that's fact, not opinion.

This is the biggest joke ive seen here.

Anyways, this rivalry is overrated.

You saying the rivalry is over-rated is also a joke...and you have nothing to say that can say that it's over rated.

While I agree the media hypes it (and this is prob. because beside the SEC's hate for the Big Ten, OSU is still one of the more popular and profitable college teams in the league). The rivalery is one of the oldest, has featured some of the greatest coaches to coach the game. Is damn near always a blood bath (Ditto for the 70's and 90's here), most time decides big-ten championship, but in the past has several times sent one onto national implications. As well as countless other things I could name.

Yes certain rivalry is more important to respective regions, I won't disagree with that...and highly respect that.

But calling OSU-Michigan as a whole with that type of history over-rated, is nothing but pure joke in it's finest form.

It's overrated. Deal with it. Why? It's not a hated rivarly. Sorry but a true rivalry to me is based pure hatred. Like Texas/OU, Auburn/Bama, USC/UCLA etc. Not this "Oh good luck in the title game OSU - Michigan fan number 24000". You guys kept supporting each other last year and it was pretty disgusting if you ask me. You don't root for your hated rival. There is a thing called respect but you guys just decided to hold hands last year and that Northern lovefest was sick imo. It's my opinion and if you think its a joke then so be it. :D

you base it over one year? You seriously need to watch some previous game from over the years. These teams hate eachother just about as much anyone else.

Seriously, I'm going to send you a OSU-Michigan history DVD. Woody hayes wanted the team to bed/get gas in toleto because he didn't want to be in Michigan. Or the 90's when David Boston and Charles Wootson got into it bad, and wern't allowed each other after the game. These two teams hate eachother...

And what good luck are you talking about? I live in Ohio andI don't remember such things...except a select few being supportive of the Big Ten.

I respect your opinion, thats fine....and I'm certaintly not disrespecting other rivals in other conferences...because Auburn and alabama is a good one.

But OSU and Michigan really don't like eachother at all....

OSU and Michigan can't stand each other, they hate each other! I live in the city where football was made, Canton, Ohio. Believe me, we hate them! Maybe some fans say, oh good luck! I've never seen it though. OSU is a great team. They had an off year and still only lost 1 game, which played again would win. They won their conference, they won their rival game, two major things. Hopefully they can continue a winning trend and win in the Rose Bowl.

Again, no. I dunno where you guys see Michigan fans and OSU fans uniting. I'm from Ohio and I've never seen it, not once. Must be a southern thing.

If it's so boring to watch the big ten why watch it? And boring is an opinion not a fact, so in your opinion it was boring.

It was the only game on at 9 am. By the way, what a profound statement about opinions. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

You're welcome, since you live in california it's understanable you don't care about it, but over here it's the biggest game of the year for osu/michigan fans. And BigHouseFan, what does that make your team if they suck? Their not the best out there, but they sure don't suck.

There has been plenty of hate in this rivarly. Seriously, it might not have appeared so for last several years, but to deny that there is no hate in this rivarly makes both of you sound unintelligent.

I hate both teams, and it was most certainly boring. But that's typical of Big Ten football.

That's b/c OSU doesn't play anybody, and the PAC 10 beats itself up. The Big Ten is garbage this year. Period.

Yep. It's garbage. Next year won't be pretty either with only Illinois and Ohio State looking like a ranked team and with Michigan under rebuliding stage. At the very least, we have four first-day draft players.

I meant from the Mich. only. That would be Hart, Long, Mannigham, and Crable. On Ohio State, I can only think of Laurinaitis, but someone else could enlighten me.

No, it's 2 rounds, so only players worth getting with first and second round picks from Michigan are those four players I mentioned.

The players don't like each other...I agree with that. I meant the fans, which is what really makes rivalry's.

Does anybody know how many dropped passes Mario Manningham had in the game? He had to atleast have had around 4 or 5. Granted the weather conditions where not the greatest but come on...

He dropped ones that were bad from Henne, but I can clearly remember two where he should have easily made the catches.

you base it over one year?

The players don't like each other...I agree with that. I meant the fans, which is what really makes rivalry's.

Last year, at the Horseshoe, Ohio State fans booed us, shoved us, sweared at us, and during the game, constantly harassed us. I don't know about you, but that's a lot of hate.
