Over 13 games (that's one more since I am not sure if you know how to subtract), he had 643 yards and 3 TDs. This was without great recievers taking away coverage for Watson while Clark benefitted from Pro-bowlers Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. Watson had...Reche Caldwell and Doug Gabriel.... This is what I am basing on.

Okay...so when Watson has worse stats than Clark this year, it's BECAUSE he has such great weapons to compete with. But when Clark had worse stats than Watson last year, it's DESPITE having great weapons to compete with. When Watson produces worse with great recievers this year, he's doing it despite them taking away PRODUCTION. When Clark produced worse last year with great recievers, he did it despite them taking away COVERAGE. Nice double standards you have.

BTW, I'd appreciate it if you'd keep the mindless, petty insults to a minimum. It makes you look really immature.

manningbowl135

First of all, learn English. I am an Asian and I can write better than you already. Second of all, Please no more, no more. This is torture. This thing you call writing doesn't even make sense.

When Watson produces worse with great recievers this year, he's doing it despite them taking away PRODUCTION.

So, if I translate this to a more readable form: "When Watson's stats were worse with great recievers this year, Watson is having a bad season despite the three great WRs taking away production." This doesn't even make sense. Read it for yourself, you said the same thing twice.

When Clark produced worse last year with great recievers, he did it despite them taking away COVERAGE.

So, if I again translate this: "When Clark's stats were worse last year with Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison, Clark had a bad season despite Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison taking away coverage." So, when Clark's stats were bad, he had a bad season despite those two taking away coverage? This again doesn't make sense. You said the same thing twice.

when Watson has worse stats than Clark this year, it's BECAUSE he has such great weapons to compete with. But when Clark had worse stats than Watson last year, it's DESPITE having great weapons to compete with.

These first two sentences were better, I actually understood it. So, I will translate again: "When Watson has worse stats than Clark this year, it's because Watson has such great weapons to compete with. But when Clark had worse statistic than that of Watson last year, it's because Clark doesn't have to compete with great weapons to compete with." This again proves your point invalid. Clark has ALWAYS had great weapons. Clark, this season had them. Marvin Harrison only missed a game while this is the first year in which Watson actually played with great recievers. Despite them coming in to take away production from him, he was actually on a pace to beat his record from last year, and much, much better than Dallas Clark's last season. Thus, Watson produced and was going to produce better when Watson DID have great recievers this year than Dallas did last year WITH great recievers. Tell me why is that? Simple, Watson is just better.

Also, there is no double standard here because Dallas has never been in a situation remotely closely as that of Watson because Dallas always had an amazing group of WRs. Watson had no WRs on last year's team and drew double-coverage every game while Dallas has never had a game where he was double-covered continously. I can't even remember a single Pats v. Colts game where Belichick would double-cover Dallas Clark. This is the first season Watson ever had a great group of WRs.

Double Standard? Honestly, is this the best arguement you can come up with? Try again, please be my guest.

There is a double standard there. I'm pretty sure you can see it. If you can't, then...well I will take a different route and not insult you.

BTW, I've never seen Watson double covered. Ever.

It's tiring to read your posts. Other than the last paragraph, everything else is geared toward insulting me. Why put in all that effort? My english was fine. Don't try to insult me for the sake of insulting me.

Let's see:

When Watson produces worse with great recievers this year, he's doing it despite them taking away PRODUCTION.

You understand the first part? I'm saying Watson is producing worse with great recievers this year. The second part is explaining the reasoning you're giving for it. "Doing it" is "producing less", pretty self-explanatory. "Them" is the "great recievers" in the first part. I used a pronoun b/c it was much better for transition. Got it?

The Clark sentence was exactly the same. Learn english better. You'll be able to comprehend these sentences better without me having to write a paragraph explaining it.

And to answer your question from the 2nd to last paragraph, maybe, just maybe it's because last year Manning had a normal season for him and this year Brady is having the greatest season in NFL history.

LOL, I was just playing with you. It's quite fun sometimes to have this intense arguements. I haven't had one since last year about Kobe Bryant. I am just gonna end this since it seems to be getting too tedious and intense. And to your answer on the last senetence, it could be--who the heck knows? In the end, it really doesn't matter, because you are a Colts fan and I am a Pats fan, and fans stick to their own players. By the way, I have been wondering why we are fighting over TEs and not the QBs. It's pretty much obivious that TEs are pretty much irrelevant to these two teams. Even if they go down, Pats are still going to score over 30.

It is fun. I used to have some in the Madden 07 forums. They're pretty rare nowadays though. Even System Wars has few of these.

In the end, it really doesn't matter, because you are a Colts fan and I am a Pats fan, and fans stick to their own players.

Exactly why these arguements are so pointless yet so fun.

Yep, but system wars is mostly filled with moronic forums and 10+ threads every day saying crap like 360 is better than PS3 because.....

And plus, Ben Watson and Dallas Clark are two great players who give great middle of the field presence.

Where is your so called "one of the best slot receivers in the league" for the Colts tonight Manning bowl? He's not even playing. With your statement, I was expecting to see him make plays. When you compare the Colts and Pats again, please don't ever make such statements!

Oh, so since you are basing your claims on player's production, how is Gonzalez one of the best slot WRs if he isn't on the field?
[QUOTE="dkhw"]

Gonzalez is top 10 IMO, just because many teams lack much depth at WR position. Ben Watson, on talent alone is MUCH better than Clark. ONLY reason he has more reception and TD than Watson is because time Harrison missed and Reggie Wayne getting double teamed every down, while Watson has 5 TD with Randy Moss, Stallworth, AND Welker. So, go talk your ignorance somewhere else. Just because he has more catches and TDs doesn't mean he is better than one player. By way you present your fact, it's basically saying because LT has subpar stats compared AP, AP is better. Your point is invalid. Try again.

manningbowl135

Harrison has missed one game. Clark has caught half of Peyton's TDs. You can call Watson more talented all you want. But he has never produced enough. LT, I can't call him worse than AP based on a few games b/c his track record suggests LT is the best. When looking at the track record of Watson, I see nothing to say even though he's playing worse than Clark this season, he's better. And for someone calling me ignorant, what exactly are you basing your conclusion on? I'm basing it on their productions so far. You?

He hasn't made a play yet. But again this is a game where Harrison has 16 yards and Wayne and Harrison are the only WR to catch a pass. Manning isn't exactly blowing it up today.

Yet? Dude, he isn't going to play! The only way he plays is if Wayne or Harrison becomes injured or the Colts blow out the Jags. If he was this great slot receiver, Manning would want him in there to help him win. It doesn't matter if Manningis having trouble with the Jags.

I'm not watching the game right now. So the Colts are basically going with a 2 reciever set every play? I don't understand why they wouldn't want their first round pick or another WR on the field. But on the other hand Wayne and Harrison is not bad.

I don't want to bring up Clark again, but guess who caught Manning's only TD today?

Hint: It's not Wayne or Harrison.

I highly doubt that in this high octane offense. Manning is just not throwing the ball in the rookie's way. I am upset that Addai's fantasy value dropped because of Keith

The Colts played a 2 receiver 2 TE set with Clark lining up in the slot position. Gonzalez was on the field for that one play where Dallas Clark caught the TD pass. So no, Gonzalez isn't one of the best slot receivers in the game. The Colts didn't think so otherwise they would have utilized him more.

I was impressed with the Colts defense. Very impressive.

I can't remember the last time the Colts drafted a bust in the first round. I'll admit Gonzalez isn't playing particularly well right now, but the Colts wouldn't draft him in the first round to be a slot forever. He's being groomed to take over the 2nd reciever job the day Manning-Harrison era comes to an end. The one game Harrison missed, Gonzalez had 7 catches for 71 yards. He's a pretty good reciever who Manning isn't utilizing more b/c it's not really needed right now. When they need some offensive firepower, I think he'll be the Stokely of the Colts offense.

Again, I know it doesn't seem like he's anything, but the game really isn't overwhelmed by great slot recievers right now. He's as good as they come after Welker.

Nope, you are wrong there. Colts drafted Gonzalez for that reason. Just as Welker is best from the slot, Colts saw a Welker with more speed in Gonzalez. By the way, there is nothing embarrassing about drafting a slot receiver for a first round pick. Look at Welker now, that 2nd round pick is starting to look awfully cheap.

Yes it can. Whoever wins that game wins the super bowl. It may not be technically the super bowl, but in reality it is.

Well, Patriots have pretty tough matchup with the team with one of the best defenses (top 3 defense at the moment with New England and Pittsburgh being the other two). Suprisingly they have one of the best secondaries with two good safties and two ok to good CBs. We should see Maroney more this week.

Yeah. Sean Taylor top 2 safties in the league next to Ed Reed. Yeah, I predict 3 or 4 TDs for Brady and maybe 2 for Maroney in that game.

It's pretty funny dude.

So now it has come down to the defending champion Indianapolis Colts for next week. This is the team that all these gamers claim will beat New England. Once New England beats the Colts, what team will they call out next? Ok, it's too premature to say that but I hope it's a competitive game. New England faced probably the best defense in the Redskins and smacked them 52-7. Bring on the Colts.

Sox is one game away from getting the World Series...Beantown, stand up!!!

They're so rude it's scary...I expect them to follow suit with the Sox and win it all!!! The Brady-Moss calabo is tough!!!
