Game 6: Los Angeles Lakers beat Phoenix Suns 111-103. LA wins series 4-2.

Besides, the zone really didn't kill the Lakers last night. Lakers still scored insanely high and they had a one point lead going into the 4th. It's those darn threes that killed the Lakers and lack of effort in stopping the Suns as well.

Kobe said last night they're defense was the reason they lost. Not the Suns defense but the Lakers. Like he said, "We sucked at defense."

The zone is overrated, IMO. Suns bench just went crazy on a fluke night. That's all.

Alvin Gentry is one of the reasons - he's far superior to Dantoni.

Zone helps because the Lakers have 3 7-footers (or 6'11''s not sure) and it helps counter this advantage for the Lakers. Not to mention Nash and Stoudemire are also poor man-to-man defenders so the Zone helps them as well. Basically, it allows Kobe to go for 35+ points and such, but Gasol, Odom and Bynum are rendered almost useless. The zone defense also held Bryant in the last quarter well enough to not let him take the game away from the Suns. The question is will Phil Jackson make adjustments? He should've after Game 3 but didn't. If the Suns can make the Zone defense more bullet proof this series could get VERY interesting...

With the series going best of 3 and being played in LA, I think the Lakers will win it. Suns are not a good road team to begin with and Lakers will go back to good defense.

Question for Lakers fans.. if you where a coach on the Lakers.. what would you try to do to play better against the Zone? Since the suns have gone to the zone the lakers have settled for so many jumpshots and 3 pointers (thus not getting to the line as much as the suns).

How would you tell your team to attack the zone? This is a very interesting series to me, as the lakers dominated first two games and then since suns went to the zone they have been doing alot better. Suns made the first adjustment... can the lakers make the next one?

Good defense, but we should be up by more than 8. We commited some silly fouls and shot some dumb shots after we got that 17 point lead and let them come back a little bit. But we have the pace where we want it and we're holding their bench down and making them commit turnovers so I'm encouraged.-Halftime-

The Suns are proving they can play in LA. If the Lakers take that game, which I think they will, they will not want to face the Suns in a Game 7.
