[QUOTE="Yorro"][QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"] I Also love all the Fake fans in the building being totally quiet!!!X360PS3AMD05
I almost feel sorry for them.
Why? They paid thousands of dollars to be there, just a bunch of rich celebrities, they don't go crazy like real fans. Just look at Boston fans......Actually i was talking about the Lakers. No love for them.
If MJ was on this lakers team instead of Kobe, the lakers would of won tonight in a 4 game sweep. Just my opinion.cookdog420
Yeah. MJ thrives on competition. No one stays calmer under pressure than MJ did, NO ONE!!! Kobe maybe the best closer in the game right now, but MJ is the greatest closer ever!!!

I praise MJ very much but who deosnt? Anyway if MJ was in the Lakers for Kobe the Lakers would most likely take the championship but in a sweep? No I dont think so, maybe 4-2 or 4-1 cause the Celtics right now is better than any team MJ faced in the championship and he and the Bulls never swept anyone in the Finals (Correct my fact if wrong). Oh and I'm sure most of you should know that the late 80's Pistons showed what a defensive powerhouse team can do to unstoppable player and the Pistons showed that to MJ twice in 2 years. However, the Celtics of 2008 is not in the same league as the late 80's Pistons.
:|, i duno how my fellow celtic fans can claim this series being over, seeing as how the red sox have come back to win a series being down, twiceBeanTownBrown86
Ya I wouldn't count my eggs before they hatch, I mean I know that no one has come back from such a deficit, but no one has come back from down 24 points in the finals to come back either (that I know of, correct me if I'm wrong). We haven't done anything yet I think people should calm down and really look at the situation, there is still one game left to play.

The Blazers, Lakers, Knicks, and even early Magic of the 90s would wipe the floor with either of these teams. If you were around back then I can only assume you would agree. Finals teams do not blow leads of that magnitude.[QUOTE="bl33kda58"][QUOTE="gamergeek545"][QUOTE="JCblueside"][QUOTE="-Tish-"]I like how Phil Jackson said they'd be all right before the fourth quarter started. Yea but he had big help from some small people called Kobe Bryant,Shaq,Michael Jordon, and Scottie Pippen. Jordan wasnt sh1t before Phil Jackson, he was selfish and wasnt a very good teamate. Um,
The Triangle Offense, also known as the Triple-Post offense, is an offensive strategy in basketball. Its basic ideas were initially established by Hall of Fame coach Sam Barry at the University of Southern California, and his system was later refined by former Kansas State University head basketball coach and former Los Angeles Lakers consultant Tex Winter, who played for Barry in the late 1940s.
Doesnt seem to me like he created it..

Not to mention it is very easy to stop and only works with players like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant because they can bail the offense out when the triangle falls apart.

Tex Winter is the man behind the Trianlge. After he created the Triangle he decided to start taking naps on the bench during games. hahaha
very nice...lol, yea i'd be frustrated too after losing a 24pt lead and getting absolutely humiliated by ray allenThe TRUTH hurts.

He didn't create it. It's just the system he used to perfection withe the Bulls back in the 90's and the Lakers during their 3-peat. Of course, it helped having guys named Jordan, Pippen, Shaq and Kobe.

He was so unstoppable that Bird said he was "God dressed as Michael Jordan". He managed to score 63 points in a rough playoff game against the best defensive team of his time who were almost undefeated at home.

I'm pretty late to the party here.. but damn I'm still basking in the glow of game 4 :).
I know our guys are hungry, they've all been so focused on a championship from the very first big 3 press conference that there is no doubt they won't let this opportunity pass them by now that it's only one tough win away. They deserve it, every last one of them, from Doc to Wyc to Eddie to Powe and down on the line. Just a great, historical team in every sense of the word with men that compliment each other's talents, play together on both ends of the court, mentally tough in big moments, they do the little things it takes to win and they genuinely like each other as teammates. And the funny thing is, they've still never really played basketball on the level they are capable of playing at for more than stretches at at a time all season - this team can, and will, play even better next year.
The Lakers will not go down without a fight, especially Kobe, who of course has greatness in him as well that can win games singehandedly against any opponent. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain which is always dangerous, plus one more game in L.A. to take advantage of. But this Lakers team is not a Great team, and it would take a Great team to be the first to come back 3-1 in the finals against the Celtics right now. Phil has been outcoached, the bench has shown flashes but also their immaturity, and big time players like Gasol and Odom have not been able to overcome their flaws on the big stage. They too will be better next year, how much better depends entirely on their commitment to defense, which is good but not championship level good, and that has made the difference in the series.
Right now, I want game 5 more than anything. Win it in L.A, silence the few remaining doubters, and return to Boston NBA champions. Green 17 baby.. can't believe it's actually this close, but like Pierce, I won't exhale until it becomes a reality.
There really is no better two teams to face off to bring the NBA back to glory. For the last few years MLB and NFL are kicking it's ass.
That said tho, Im really tired of the Celtics and more importantly their fan base. I am glad that the celtics have made a turn around in general, but nothing pisses me more off than all these fans coming out of hiding (for 20 years) to claim they have always been supporting, and worse yet, claiming this is a dynasty. You can't call it a dynasty the first time they actually do well, especially when 2 of the big 3 are on their first year as celtics.
Also, what was up with the Pierce Leg Injury? How can you be carried off in agonizing pain, only to return in THE SAME QUARTER, unfazed? SOunds like a staged act to ge the crowd more fired up.
The celtics are the only team left in boston I can tolerate, but if their fans are like Redsox and Pats fans, then they will be doomed to be hated by the rest of the nation

I cant believe i am still hearin about PIerce being a faker when he is clearly the biggest trooper when in comes to pain. Several years ago he got stabbed 11 times in the face neck and back at a club. He was driven to the hospital but walked ffrom the car to the ER where he needed surgury on his lung among other wounds. He was back on the court in a couple weeks and playing well. Or the time he got his teeth knoccked out and kept playing only to undergo 7 hours of reconstructive surgery to his face the next day. Or when he got his jaw broken by the pacers and would have kept playing except he got T-ed up and ejected for freaking out about the fact that Tinsley had just boken his jaw. Pierce doesn't fake, he just doesnt care about pain and competes on a whole different level

Lots of Basketball stars have been hurt and came back to play, its not a big deal. Why that is pretty commendable for Pierce to come back into play after those times, but game one was rediculous.
Something doesnt add up. There is no way you can be that hurt, almost in tears and being carried off the court, and come back in, SAME Quarter and play like nothing happen. I know you think hes superman apparantly, but even this gangsta (Getting stabbed? real nice) would not be able to play after showing that amount of pain moments before. Its clear that it was partly staged, or he just over reacted.
Great player, but how can you not be, when you have 2 superstars on yourside (Allen and Garnett). Its similar to the Kobe and Shaq. While Kobe has proved himself, he was incredible when he played with shaq, because Shaq could clear the path.
I cant imagine how these games would turn out if Kobe had the help that Pierce has. Gasol doesn't count, as we have seen in the past few games.
Ugh. Let me try..
Paul Pierce has earned his reputation as a warrior in this league time and time again. He is a very tough, extremely durable player. That's never been debated.
He's playing the series with a strained meniscus, and he's been playing with it since game 1. He did NOT come out looking exactly the same at all after being hurt, he didn't drive to the basket once, he barely had any lateral movement guarding Kobe but he did it anyway. Plus, you SAW the play, right? Looked like a pretty awful twist on TV to me.
The man heard a pop in his knee, it was obviously painful enough to not want to risk jumping back up, and good trainers will keep your leg steady in case there is an ACL tear in such situations. He could put weight on it in the locker room, so he plays. Yes it was dramatic, yes there was no need to film him in the wheelchair and all that crap, but why do you have to read some grand conspiracy or staging on Pierce's part out of this? If you ain't gon ride fly, then you might as well hate.. indeed.
Also, why not learn something about Pierce, his past and stabbing before you ignorantly label him a gangsta and a faker. There really is no better two teams to face off to bring the NBA back to glory. For the last few years MLB and NFL are kicking it's ass.

Clearly you have never been to Boston, and can't understand the passion most of the people feel towards sports. All of our teams are planted in tradition (the Sox, Celtics, and Bruins), and have been around since their respective leagues started. I can't really explain how awesome it is to be at a soldout Fenway game in the middle of June, and everyone into it as if it was a playoff game. It is part of the atmosphere.

Anyone who thinks a proffessional athelete would leave a game for 5 minutes (1:30 in play time) to "pump the crowd" is just crazy. No one would do that. If u had watched the game you would know that they had already started to come back and paul leaving during the comeback was NOT a good thing.

I HATE Boston sports teams with a passion.
Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, Patriots...but I'm actually rooting for the Celtics (God that hurts).
I like Kevin Garnett. I think he's a great story and seems like a really good guy with a lot of class and plays hard everytime. He stuck with the Timberwolves for all those years and never got the recognition he deserves.
PLUS its cool to see a team go from the Worst in the NBA to being Champions in just one year
18-5 Lakers so far. Lakers aren't blowing this one. I don't want to see Boston win it, or at least win at 4-1. No offense to Just_Osmo, but some of the "Boston" fans at my school, if you even call them Boston fans (at my school), boasts like it is nothing, but seem to venture away from them when they do terrible. It stands to reason that because of Boston's recent success, it would be the most prevalent right now.
