Kings made a nice little infograph for the local media http://www.jewelsfromthecrown.com/2012/5/22/3036345/hilarious-kings-infographic-educates-local-tv-reporters-about-players Dwight Schrute gets hooked up with tix http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/rainn-wilson-k-dwight-schrute-given-los-angeles-132828266.html

Woot! I love the guy on the south side of the rink who sprung out of his chair and grabbed the top of the glass, almost looked like he wanted to jump over onto the ice! The fact that players don't celebrate or touch the trophy made me realize that players celebrate a bit too much in baseball, after every round it seems and even clinching a wild card :?

I think the whole superstition about touching the trophy is way overblown. Sure, I like the idea of not touching it because it's not the goal, but the notion that touching will send a team to eternal sports damnation... bit out to lunch.

I don't know enough about hockey, was that a cheap shot by Dustin Brown? Looked clean to me, but I am not positive.

I believe Mike Richards took it when Philly went to the final 2 years ago. Didn't win:P Yes Kings! Just 4 more wins. Right now, my Conn Smythe would be one of the goalies. And monkeytoes, I think the hit was clean, but was late. It's a really tough call. It was shoulder to shoulder, and the knee hit after. But he didn't change the path of his leg like most players who get a knee on knee penalty do. And it may have been late like I said, but he may have also not had enough time after the wistle to hold up. If the play kept going, idk if it would have looked as bad.

Agreed. Both goaltenders tonight weren't stellar, but this was the first time I've seen in the playoffs where Henrik actually looked human. Nevertheless, kudos to the Rangers for climbing back from a 0-3 deficit and make the game a nail-biter winding down.

ROFL, Phx so much butt hurt, it wasn't, and besides they had plenty against us that weren't punished, they think they were targeted by biased officiating but it went both ways. I don't understand why the fans were so butt hurt over a team they don't even support.

Everything in sports has both sides, it seems. The other side of the argument, when you watch the hit more slowly, is that Brown stuck out his knee at the last minute, and the subsequent lack of a call on that play led to a face-off in the Phoenix zone, which led to the goal. I've watched the hit about a dozen times now, and it's questionable. Ergo, with no real definite answer (it really is borderline, and could have gone either way), there's not a lot they could do to punish Brown.

Shoulder to shoulder, it was so questionable that they didn't even bother looking more into it, just butt hurt because they got swept right out a few moments later, a "5 game sweep" like they said, Morris had a worse one against Scuderi earlier in the series and nobody said Jack diddly, oh they will get what's comin to um next season the Kings were just focused on winning.

Games 3 and 4 on NBC Sports Network, wow, must be great for those Kings fans who don't have cable, nice one NHL! NTM Bob and Jim won't even get to call the games so should they finally hoist the trophy we won't get to hear the lifelong voice of the Kings.

I had a few heartattacks tonight, and it wasn't even an elimination game for us. Great win, though. Henrique coming up big again. When Lundqvist sat there after the overtime goals, you could just see the devastation written in his body language. Even though I was ecstatic to have won, I felt for the man. He played his heart out for most of these playoffs--all but two games, in fact, from what I could say. But yeah, Kings and Devils. I'm excited for it.

Gotta give props to the Devils. Even though I didn't like either team that much, I'm kinda glad to see them win. Well, mostly glad to see DeBoar win.

They're well coached, got some great players up front, and Marty is playing like he's in his prime, not 40. This team will put up a fight against LA I think. I don't know if they have as many weapons as LA, and Quick is better than Marty right now. Still should be a lot of fun to watch

Bottom line is the Rangers can't score. Devils scorers came up big... NYR stars like Gaborik and Richards came up really small in this series. Game 5 the Devils tried to hand the game to them and they couldn't take it. Lundqvist probably thinks he has to pitch a shutout every night to get a win. Tip of the hat to Broduer for proving all the critics wrong.

Grew up watching the Devils seemingly always in the playoffs and winning Cups, along with a legendary goalie this should be a good series. So the east coast pundits are saying the Kings are only a month removed from being terrible? Have not faced any adversity and have not played an OT game  I loved this one http://www.theonion.com/articles/phoenix-coyotes-pretend-homeless-drifters-at-greyh,28330/

It's amazing how lackluster our PK has been these playoffs, after being first in the reg. season and setting that NHL record. We were terrible against the Panthers, then found it once more against the Flyers, and were off and on against the Rangers. Rough stuff, but we just have to see how these stats go up against Devils and Kings. Can't wait for the matchup, in any case.

What you have to like about the NHL right now is there is a lot of parity. LA and NJ got hot at the right time heading into the playoffs and made their run to the finals... similar to what Boston did last year out of nowhere. It's nice to know from year to year most teams can have that special year and it's not always going according to form with the top seeds winning like the NBA usually does.

Haha, no worries. I obviously want the Devils to win, no matter what we've done in the last so many years. But I think there are a number of players on the Kings who I've been wanting to see win the Cup for years now, so whatever happens, I'm just looking forward to a great series. I respect the Kings a lot more than other Western conf. teams, so I can't wait for the Finals to start.

Interesting game one. The game was very one sided for each time for several minutes of play. Early on it looked like the Devils were going to take it in OT and then out of no where Kopitar gets a break away.

I did not know the Devils had a new arena..............lol Some guy posted this one: The 4 stages of hockey denial that the opposing team is better than you: Loss 1We didnt play our best game. Loss 2They had all the bounces. Loss 3The officials were unfair. Loss 4They have some good players over there; give them credit.

18 defenseman were picked ahead of Lidstrom in the '89 Draft. Bet all those teams that passed on him regret that decision!...though the Wings took Bob Boughner before Lidstrom

Sad to see another legend go but he has played long enough.

Hope the Wings get themselves back together for next season. Still can't believe how things went during that last like quarter of the season...

M.Gaborik was playing with a torn shoulder muscle. Surgery and out for 5 to 6 months. No wonder he was so invisible most games.

Up 2-0 going home? This is going to be very, very difficult for the Devils to come back from. They gotta win 3 IN LA of the 5 left. But maybe what's worse is that LA would get 2 more in NJ. Now 10-0 on the road this post-season.

10 wins straight on the road is pretty mind boggling. Goes to show home ice advantage(and seeding) means absolutely nothing in hockey. Just look at these playoffs in 2012 besides the Kings and there were plenty of road wins by the visiting team.

Kings deserve it, they're just incredible. Quick especially. It doesn't mean I can't go crying in a corner, but it's not as the Devils didn't play their heart out to get here. I pray against the sweep, but yeah. Unbelievable play by the Kings this postseason.

Cool if the Kings win, but I am kinda annoyed if they win in 4 the game won't be aired on national TV. I wouldn't mind it be extended to Monday so it can be. But you take what you can get.

"Well Panger what do you think the Devils have to do to get out of this 0-3 hole" "Devils this devils that devils devils" "You need to elevate that dang Puck! See what those guys did? Jeez why can't you do that NJ?" There were a few of us who didn't want to sound cocky, but we were thinking "What if it isn't the hardest series yet and this team keeps on steamrolling?" Kudos to Sutter and Lombardi, nobody would have seen this one coming halfway through the season. I also thought it would be funny if the PP all of a sudden started clicking at the end of the series and what do you know......

I personally hope the Kings can finish it up tonight.
