I think the whole superstition about touching the trophy is way overblown. Sure, I like the idea of not touching it because it's not the goal, but the notion that touching will send a team to eternal sports damnation... bit out to lunch.Vikes88pens touched it when they won their most recent cup ;)

I believe Mike Richards took it when Philly went to the final 2 years ago. Didn't win:P Yes Kings! Just 4 more wins. Right now, my Conn Smythe would be one of the goalies. And monkeytoes, I think the hit was clean, but was late. It's a really tough call. It was shoulder to shoulder, and the knee hit after. But he didn't change the path of his leg like most players who get a knee on knee penalty do. And it may have been late like I said, but he may have also not had enough time after the wistle to hold up. If the play kept going, idk if it would have looked as bad.
This Devils/Rangers series is greatLos9090Agreed. Both goaltenders tonight weren't stellar, but this was the first time I've seen in the playoffs where Henrik actually looked human. Nevertheless, kudos to the Rangers for climbing back from a 0-3 deficit and make the game a nail-biter winding down.
I don't know enough about hockey, was that a cheap shot by Dustin Brown? Looked clean to me, but I am not positive. monkeytoes61ROFL, Phx so much butt hurt, it wasn't, and besides they had plenty against us that weren't punished, they think they were targeted by biased officiating but it went both ways. I don't understand why the fans were so butt hurt over a team they don't even support.
Gotta give props to the Devils. Even though I didn't like either team that much, I'm kinda glad to see them win. Well, mostly glad to see DeBoar win.
They're well coached, got some great players up front, and Marty is playing like he's in his prime, not 40. This team will put up a fight against LA I think. I don't know if they have as many weapons as LA, and Quick is better than Marty right now. Still should be a lot of fun to watch
What you have to like about the NHL right now is there is a lot of parity. LA and NJ got hot at the right time heading into the playoffs and made their run to the finals... similar to what Boston did last year out of nowhere. It's nice to know from year to year most teams can have that special year and it's not always going according to form with the top seeds winning like the NBA usually does.
It appears Nick Lidstorm will be retiring tomorrow. He is holding a press conference to announce it. Swanogt1918 defenseman were picked ahead of Lidstrom in the '89 Draft. Bet all those teams that passed on him regret that decision!...though the Wings took Bob Boughner before Lidstrom

Sad to see another legend go but he has played long enough.
Hope the Wings get themselves back together for next season. Still can't believe how things went during that last like quarter of the season...
[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]http://www.bloguin.com/puckdrunklove/2012-articles/may/sluggish-ratings-for-game-1.html Buffalo was watching...Minny, Pitt and OKC?? WHAA??Los9090Nice fine...yeah, Buffalo will watch the NHL over anything else these days. Pittsburgh has a large NHL fanbase. its not surprising that they're one of the top ones.
Up 2-0 going home? This is going to be very, very difficult for the Devils to come back from. They gotta win 3 IN LA of the 5 left. But maybe what's worse is that LA would get 2 more in NJ. Now 10-0 on the road this post-season.
