I know it's about a month off (which was a stupid change fwiw) but what does every see going down in the draft and personally hope for their own teams? I've maintained and continue to maintain that Clowney belongs at #1 overall, and personally think the closer we come to the draft the more momentum for that move will pick-up. After that I think the Rams go the safe route and keep #2 to get Greg Robinson, Jaguars add a piece for Bradley's defense with Mack at #3, Browns pick Watkins to pair with Gordon at #4 and Raiders draft whatever QB prospect comes out ahead a month from now at #5.

As far as the Patriots I'd really like it'd to be awesome and see one of the top 2 Safetys, Aaron Donald or Eric Ebron fall all the way to #29, though more reasonably I'd be fine with picking up second tier prospects at DT (Re'Shade Hageman, Louis Nix) or TE (Jace Amaro, Austin Jenkins).

You're wrong about the Raiders. They'll pick whichever QB runs the fastest 40. Fact.

If I were the Texans, I'd take Clowney. With JJ Watt, that'd be unstoppable. Then look at a QB in the second round like Carr or McCarron. I stand by not picking a QB unless you're absolutely in love with him. Picking one just because you need one has almost never works (Locker, Gabbert, Ponder, Weeden, etc).

I want the Packers to at least pick up a free safety, tight end and center in the draft since they, er, refuse to fill holes in free agency. Those are our biggest needs right now. Packers will get the usual wide receiver since Thompson likes to draft them a year before they're needed (Cobb, Boykin). Our running backs are finally stacked and our front seven on defense looks decent, as do our cornerbacks. Could use a decent backup QB if we don't resign Flynn. I hope the Packers front office learned its lesson after last year's fiasco with not having a decent backup (which was why I was complaining about it in the first part of the season).

So who does everybody think the NFL's weakest division this year is going to be? I think it still goes to the NFC East. The Cowboys got worse, the Redskins big name signing came from within the division, the Eagles are about the same, and the Giants did a bunch of band aid signings.

The AFC East.

Patriots are top dogs in the division, and it's barely close.

Jets are mediocre, and have Geno Smith for a QB

The Dolphins are scrubs

The Bills are twice as scrub because they still don't have a decent QB.

Maybe the AFC South is worse.

@jg4xchamp: I disagree solely on the fact the Pats are SB contenders. The NFC East doesn't have one of those unless the Eagles ramp it up.

I'd say the same, though I could easily see improvement from the Redskins and Giants. AFC South might be the closest to that, the Colts haven't and aren't going to improve enough (particularly without a first rounder) to become legit SB contenders, and I'd honestly be pretty surprised if any of the 3 other teams ended up with a wildcard berth rather than the say, the improved Dolphins.

@Boston_Boyy: I think the Skins still have holes on D and the Giants have a lacking offense. Improvement yes but not enough for say wildcard. I agree with your assessment of the AFC South. I still think the Colts can be scary though. Luck has elite written all over him.

Clowney goes #1 but a guy with a questionable motor worries me, Rams draft Robinson, Browns draft Manziel or Bridgewater, Jags draft whichever QB is left over, and Bortles falls to the middle of the 1st round.

I'd like the Saints to draft a linebacker like Mosley or Shazier in the 1st because the LB corps is the only glaring weak spot on the D. This is a pretty deep WR draft so maybe someone like Jordan Matthews or Davante Adams in the 2nd. Throw in a center and some depth in the later rounds and I think we're good.

They are superbowl contenders

Because

A: The AFC kind of sucks

B: The rest of their division is scrub status, that they instantly get 5-6 wins on the board.

C: Bad teams would have a punchers chance with Bellichick and Brady

Not disagreeing the Pats are nice, but that division should not be excluded from being called shit, because one team is good. The other 3 are worse than mediocre. At the least the Cowboys-Redskins-And a giants team where Eli isn't the human interception machine are just as good if not better than the bottom 3 teams of the AFC East/South(no offense Yoko). Eagles were more than respectable, and they got hot late. Plus again, being the worst division in the NFC is not nearly as damning as being the worst division in the AFC.

Edit:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000340526/article/joe-montana-tom-brady-among-best-nfl-quarterbacks-ever

That list is insane. I mean the top 3 is respectable. Probably on point. Peyton is probably a little higher than he should be for his playoff failures, but Dan Marino at 5th is ridiculous.

@Chutebox: The words 'sexual assault' were thrown around in the initial (TMZ) report and people ran with it. If they'd posted what was actually happening then no one would have ever given as shit.

I'm hoping Clowney drops to the Jags and then they take McCarron in the 2nd round. I'd love a duo of Clowney/McCarron or Mack/McCarron. Grab some players for the O-line and corners in the later rounds. Have McCarron learn for the first year and then get him some offensive weapons in the next FA and draft.

Gus Bradley will guide us to the promised land.

What an awful off-season for the 49ers. This team could very well be a train wreck next season.

Anyone can beat anyone in football, but I feel like our path back to the SB just opened up wide. 49ers are still talented, but are having a ton of internal issues right now. Carolina lost their star LT and all their receivers. Seahawks only real loss was Tate and he's very replaceable.

Loading Video...

Aaron Rodgers gives the Packers a puncher's chance, but yeah we've seen plenty that the Packers can't protect Rodgers long enough, and don't have the defense to make timely plays to win a playoff game anymore.

Side note

*the video because new gamespot format sucks*

I want that to be a thing. The lines will be glorious

Glad to see the Packers bring Flynn back. He's not much but he's better than what we had when Rodgers got hurt.

Can someone honestly explain to me what the hell has happened to Teddy Bridgewater? Mel Kiper has him going 33rd overall right now, and while that is probably some mix of a headliner grabber/overreaction, I'm starting to see more and more people put him as the 3rd or 4th quarterback in this class, and I just don't understand that. A lot of people point out the fact that he had a poor pro day/combine but I don't buy that being the primary cause, dude was a 3 year starter in college, and we've seen players like Cam Newton overcome bad press from those sorts of things and still be the first QB selected.

@The-Apostle: If he has a good season they'll probably be forced to, the cost of overpaying a young quarterback of that quality (a few million a year than he's worth) is far outweighed by the potential cost of not (see: 49ers 1999-2010). Besides Cutler and Stafford got extensions in that neighborhood recently.

@The-Apostle: You do realize that this matchup has been guaranteed to happen since the end of the regular season right? The NFL doesn't just pick random teams and match them up against one another, they've got a system that decides matchups, tonight we're just learning the order/time/dates that they'll actually happen.

As for the Patriots the schedule looks pretty good with 5 primetime games including a Thursday and Monday nighter, even if the two biggest on the schedule (Packers, Broncos) were both protected by their networks). 3 divisional games to close out the season should be fun to watch. I like our bye week position during week 10. Only thing I was a little disappointed by was the fact that we go to Minnesota's outdoor stadium in September rather than say, December in whether Brady traditionally excels in.

Jags should be able to go 14-2 with that cupcake schedule they've been given. And that's being conservative. I smell a 15, shit, 16-win season in the works.

No, I like most sports. I just don't care to post on this pos site to talk about sports usually.
