I'm feeling pretty good about the future of the Bills relating to Manuel, but this isn't worth getting associated with that guy. So I'll just pretend they'll be the worst forever now. Thank you, Troy.

RevanBITW
I've seen how much getting a good or better QB can change a team. The Colts and Redskins perfect examples. Oh well, I guess seeing is believing if Manuel plays well when the regular season starts.

There's a difference between having a good QB and being a Superbowl contender.

Entertaining article at ESPN about the Seahawks:  link, describing how they've become the hippies of the NFL:

  • "kinder, gentler philosophy"
  • meditation
  • yoga
  • organic food, with leftovers and scraps used to feed their own free-range chickens
  • "happy players are better players"
  • when a reporter interviews a player or coach, the player/coach should let the reporter know how much he's appreciated and thank him for his time
  • yelling and swearing are frowned upon
  • all coaches and staff are instructed to use only positive reinforcement and encouragement
  • psychologists, counselors, and mental health specialists
  • monitor sleep habits and send players home from practice early if they're tired and need a nap

That is so perfectly suitable for a Seattle team.

if they have a really good season, especially those taking full advantage, expect some copycats next year.

$30 to see the 49ers in San Diego, $100 for the Cowboys...... http://www.sbnation.com/longform/2013/8/20/4636066/ricky-bell-profile-san-diego-chargers-tampa-bay-buccaneers ^ I wonder how much of that is because of Pete Carroll, i liked how he was a successful chill coach, people probably assume you have to be the angry kind of coach in order to succeed (but obviously there are a bunch who don't)

Watching the Ravens offense teeing off the Panthers is pretty fun to watch. I can't help it, even though it's against a terrible team.

Not only do the Jags have the worst uniforms in the NFL, but they have the worst uniforms out of all 122 teams in the 4 major sports according to this ESPN poll.

It's bad enough they look terrible at playing football, but now they'll look bad whilke playing terrible football. Yay! (On a side note, the unis wouldn't be terrible if they just had solid black helmets...)

Obviously who ever made that list prefers the more simple unis over flashy ones. I think the Jags are kind of generic and it doesn't bug me at all. The worst has to be the bengels and those stupid stupid helmets.

That dude complains about some of the weirdest things.

The Orioles' secondary logo, which appears on their alternate cap, has an upside-down apostrophe! How many people in various MLB offices signed off on that mistake? Grrrr.

They were generic before they changed their helmets to that two-tone spraypaint design.  Now they're just bad.

Although... maybe you could argue it's perfectly symbolic of the organization's half-assed efforts of producing a quality team?

Redskins ranked 74th because of the name and the the uniform/jerseys? :|

Whatever it's his list but some stupid reasons for some uniform rankings.

I do agree with Lukas though that the Eagles need to go back to the Kelly Green. The Midnight green jerseys are ugly as sin. The kelly green jerseys were a classic look

Well, the new owner seems hell bent on keeping the team in Jacksonville (he's pouring in millions to renevate the stadium) and the new front office seems fairly competent. I'd give them at least 2 season before saying they don't care about the quality of the team. I realize they'll be playing in London, but the fans don't come to the games so you might as well try to market yourself somewhere.

Although this year is going to be equally as brutal as last year's team was.

Not first ballot, but I think he should get in. He has good statistics, longevity, and I believe he was on the 99 Rams that won the Super Bowl? You know how those hall of fame voters have massive chubs for rings.

Too much neon green for my tastes. The 2000s look was solid, but their original uniforms were so damn classy. Silver helmets are beautiful.

Not sure why Harrell is still considered the top backup. If I'm on the coaching staff it's VY all the way. Also, nice move by Stoneburner. Dude stops five yards away from the endzone thinking the play's over. WTF?!

Almost all NFL teams are f*cked if their starting QB gets hurt. Colin Kaepernick/Tom Brady-type cases (where a backup could lead the team to a SB) are extremely rare. Think about it for a second: you've been talking up Vince Young. Vince Young was just about done with football until the Packers picked him up off the scrap heap. Maybe he's better than Harrell but that doesn't really matter because he's not going to lead that team anywhere if he has to play significant minutes.

Anyway you can breathe easy now. Excited?

Glad he's gone. Too bad about Gillett. I was starting to like him. I'm sure he'll find success elsewhere. Now hopefully Crosby gets the axe. :D

Yeah... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000233647/article/mark-sanchez-hurt-has-xrays-after-exiting-jets-game
It looked for most of Saturday night that Sanchez would win the Jets' starting job by default. If Sanchez can't get healthy quick, it'll be Smith's job. By default. This is a competition that will end with no winners.Gregg Rosenthal

I really hope Geno Smith's safety unseats Mark Sanchez's buttfumble as Sportscenter's Worst of the worst play just so so we can continue to laugh at the Jets.
