I laugh over all of the comments made by people who take the game vs Buffalo and apply it to week 2, thinking a shaky start by a QB in the first half means anything. As if a QB can come back after knee surgery and not be rusty for the first half.

Now that Brady is back in rhythm, anyone who believes the Jets will keep this close is delusional. I don't even care about the defense. They were swiss cheese in 2007 but nobody noticed because NE would score 50 points a game. NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON OFFENSE SINCE THEN. Oh, wait, they brought in Galloway.

And yet, I'm still waiting for someone to tell me WHY it will be close. I'm thinking the universal Patriot hatred is clouding the logic of football fans.

Well I thought the Pats would steamroll the Bills and that didn't happen. And the Jets have a better defense than Buffalo. Should be a battle of defensive masterminds.

Again, Brady just came off of knee surgery. He was over it in the second half, look at the numbers. If he wasn't as shaky in the first half, the score wouldn't have been as close as it was.

they have not only a better defense, but a better offense. just cuz sanchez is a rookie doesnt mean he isnt good. look at big ben's rookie year. he didnt lose til the afc championship, including the 2 teams who were thought to be the best in the league. one of them being the patriots, with everyone's beloved tom brady. for the record im not saying tom isnt still a good qb, but he isnt the best in the league anymore. itll be a nailbiter.

So you know for a fact that Brady's knee was hurting in the first half and then he was "over it" by the second? Yeah, that makes sense  Brady just had a better second half and he will be better tested by a Jets defense that is bringing back Shaun Ellis.

Did I say he was hurting? It was 100% in the head. Did you look at his throwing pattern in the first half as opposed to the second?

The offense is pretty good though, good O-line, 2 good running backs, and an underrated receiving core. But with your prediction and the past success for your team, it sounds like your arrogance has clouded your logic too. C'mon 52-14? and you bring up the games from TWO years ago when the Jets were a much different team? Especially that first game of the season before the Spygate revelation...

I'm going by the fact that nothing has changed for the Pats offense. Same receivers. Same QB. The score was a little exaggerated. I'll give the Pats 42 points instead.

Notice how they went 11-5 without Brady last year?

Notice how Brady threw for over 350 yds on Monday?

Notice how two TD's came in less than two minutes?

Notice who is 1-0?

The team was loaded to begin with so its not like they needed to spy on other teams. Of course they're going to point fingers at other teams for doing the same thing, but the Pats were caught for a reason. But whatever, okay they went 18-1, but they barely escaped from a mediocre Baltimore team and had a couple of calls go their way. And their high powered offense was SHUT DOWN in the Super Bowl.

And every year is a different year, teams change and improve, including opponents. Just because mainstays are still on the team from 2007 doesn't guarantee success.

I agree. But..... 2007 was Welker and Moss's first year with the team. They now have two years under the system which improves the team. The Jets may be better. I don't doubt that. That's why I gave them 14 instead of 7. I believe the Pats will do what they always do. They'll run the ball for a quarter or so until they abandon it and just throw 100% of the time for the rest of the game. I'm not worried about the division as much as I'm worried about the Steelers. That team scares the crap out of me.

So after Brady being crap in the first half, he gets going a little bit in the second half and BAM, holy crap he is back to the same Brady? No way. I watched both games and my prediction may be biased because I am a Jets fan but that score your suggesting, stupid to say the least. They put up an "amazing" 25 points agains the bills, THE BILLS! The jets not only hammered the texans offense, allowing what, 38 yards rushing against a very strong running back, less than 200 yards total, they have picked up big defensive players, will have Ellis back, and with Rex Ryan, a man that almost single handely led the Ravens to a Super Bowl, now turning the Jets defense around, I feel this will be the closest Jets/Patriots game in years, with the Jets prevailingand o yeah, as you said, You heard that here, not first though, as many are agreeing with me.

if nothing else, brady was inconsistent. thats what we can take from it. not take the good only and say thats how he is or take the bad and say thats how he is. if we're gonna use it, we have to take the whole thing, not just the part that benefits us.

I also like how Jets fan acts as if beating the Texans is an accomplishment and at the same time, discredits the Pats because they had a close game with a team that is no worse.

I think you're under rating the Jets D. But I am banking on Sanchez playing like a Rookie QB this week against one of the better defensive schemes this decade. I decided to start NE's D over BAL who's playing the Chargers.

The Steelers D now is the best it has been in a very long time. The Steelers D would make the Pats Offense look like it did in superbowl 42.

Well its Tom Brady against Mark Sanchez, even if Brady plays worse then he did against the Bills 1/2QTR its still better then Sanchez at his best ATM. (Rookie). Its a pretty safe bet that the Pats will win not by that exaggurated amount you stated, but still a wins a win.

And its funny how you assume that your injured QB got back into rhythm after one game. Your defense if garbage and you have no running game. PS. and you should have lost to the Bills. End of story. Haha you suck.

And its funny how you assume that your injured QB got back into rhythm after one game. Your defense if garbage and you have no running game. PS. and you should have lost to the Bills. End of story. Haha you suck.BlackStalker

Look at Brady's second half statistics. Do it now. Then get back to me.

I would also like you to prove to me that you have seen more than one NE game. Because if you have, you would understand that most of the time they don't need to run. Tell me how the last TD's by the Patriots were scored. I don't remember seeing Faulk or Maroney or Morris or Taylor in the endzone.

I say it will be a close game, Jets defense is way better than the Bill, and the bills gave Brady trouble. The only reason the even won that game was be sheer twist of faith. If Mckelvin had taken the knee in the endzone, hell, if he didn't fumble, yeah.

[QUOTE="bunchofpixels"][QUOTE="LordMaiden"] I'm not worried about the division as much as I'm worried about the Steelers. That team scares the crap out of me.PiTPenguins2787

Brady always makes the Steelers D look like swiss cheese.

The Steelers D now is the best it has been in a very long time. The Steelers D would make the Pats Offense look like it did in superbowl 42.

Brady knows the Steelers defense and has torched them every time he has played them. They are slightly better than they were any other year.

Everytime....everytime, I said EVERYTIME!

A team talks trash about the Patriots, the Pats stay quiet, resilent. Then they show who is big daddy is on the field.

Casualties:

  • Philadelphia Eagles WR: Freddie Mitchell(2004)

"The Philadelphia Eagles' other loquacious receiver — the one without the Pro Bowl pedigree and ankle injury — offended some Patriots when he dissed their secondary in a television interview. In a segment taped yesterday on ESPN, Mitchell admitted he couldn't name any of the Patriots defensive backs, saying he only knew their numbers. Except for No. 37 that is.

"I got something for you Harrison when I meet you too," he said."

Result:

One reception for 11 yards. Harrison had more receptions picking off McNabb twice! Patriots win the Super Bowl 24-21

  • Pittsburgh Steelers Safety: Anthony Smith(2007)

Safety Anthony Smith not only thinks the Steelers have a chance Sunday to beat the undefeated New England Patriots, he guarantees it.

"We're going to win," Smith said after practice . "Yeah, I can guarantee a win." Against the then Undefeated Patriots.

Result:

Smith gives up big plays, one noticeably to WR Jabar Gaffney where Smith was beat, and humiliated. Patriots win that game 34-13.

  • San Diego Chargers RB: LaDainian Tomlinson(2007)

LaDainian Tomlinson was upset Sunday evening, and it wasn't just because his Chargers had just lost to the Patriots. The league's MVP was also irritated by the way some of New England's players handled their victory. Seems they weren't exactly gracious winners."I would never react in that way. I was very upset," Tomlinson said.

"When you go to the middle of our field and start doing the dance Shawne Merriman is known for, that is disrespectful. They showed no ****and maybe that comes from the head coach."

Result:

Next time they played on Sept. 16 he rushed 18 times for only 43 yards with four receptions for only 15 yards to go with that no TD's. Patriots won that game 38-14.

  • Buffalo Bills WR: Terrell Owens(2009)

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens provided the first trash talk with the Patriots leading up to Monday night's season-opener at Gillette Stadium. Owens was asked if he had anything up his sleeve for the Patriots. "Nah, nothing up my sleeve," said Owens. "I might bring my spy camera out, though." Prior to the Monday Night Football matchup.

Result:

Two receptions for 46 yards. Patriots beat the Bills in a thriller 25-24.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope the Jets realize what they are getting themselves into. Not guarantee-ing (bad spelling lol) anything, but there is a history for those who talk trash and failed, miserably.

It is just not smart to wake a sleeping dog and the Jets just kicked it.

Excellent, Mr. Awesome. That play vs the Steelers was the one where Brady threw a flea-flicker......right over Smith's head.

The laughingstock are the Brady haters who constantly downplay anything he accomplishes.

I cannot wait to see the responses this Sunday when the Jets are being hammered.

Not like the golden boy Brady was talking any crap by stating that "talk is cheap" and saying the "Super Bowl isn't until February" with a conceited attitude during his little PC.

I guess what doesn't matter is that Brady is never the one to instigate trash talk.

You're nitpicking. All you're doing is calling out one half without the other.

Patriot hating is so 2007.
