[QUOTE="Mister__Awesome"]

Everytime....everytime, I said EVERYTIME!

A team talks trash about the Patriots, the Pats stay quiet, resilent. Then they show who is big daddy is on the field.

Casualties:

  • Philadelphia Eagles WR: Freddie Mitchell(2004)

"The Philadelphia Eagles' other loquacious receiver - the one without the Pro Bowl pedigree and ankle injury - offended some Patriots when he dissed their secondary in a television interview. In a segment taped yesterday on ESPN, Mitchell admitted he couldn't name any of the Patriots defensive backs, saying he only knew their numbers. Except for No. 37 that is.

"I got something for you Harrison when I meet you too," he said."

Result:

One reception for 11 yards. Harrison had more receptions picking off McNabb twice! Patriots win the Super Bowl 24-21

  • Pittsburgh Steelers Safety: Anthony Smith(2007)

Safety Anthony Smith not only thinks the Steelers have a chance Sunday to beat the undefeated New England Patriots, he guarantees it.

"We're going to win," Smith said after practice . "Yeah, I can guarantee a win." Against the then Undefeated Patriots.

Result:

Smith gives up big plays, one noticeably to WR Jabar Gaffney where Smith was beat, and humiliated. Patriots win that game 34-13.

  • San Diego Chargers RB: LaDainian Tomlinson(2007)

LaDainian Tomlinson was upset Sunday evening, and it wasn't just because his Chargers had just lost to the Patriots. The league's MVP was also irritated by the way some of New England's players handled their victory. Seems they weren't exactly gracious winners."I would never react in that way. I was very upset," Tomlinson said.

"When you go to the middle of our field and start doing the dance Shawne Merriman is known for, that is disrespectful. They showed no ****and maybe that comes from the head coach."

Result:

Next time they played on Sept. 16 he rushed 18 times for only 43 yards with four receptions for only 15 yards to go with that no TD's. Patriots won that game 38-14.

  • Buffalo Bills WR: Terrell Owens(2009)

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens provided the first trash talk with the Patriots leading up to Monday night's season-opener at Gillette Stadium. Owens was asked if he had anything up his sleeve for the Patriots. "Nah, nothing up my sleeve," said Owens. "I might bring my spy camera out, though." Prior to the Monday Night Football matchup.

Result:

Two receptions for 46 yards. Patriots beat the Bills in a thriller 25-24.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope the Jets realize what they are getting themselves into. Not guarantee-ing (bad spelling lol) anything, but there is a history for those who talk trash and failed, miserably.

It is just not smart to wake a sleeping dog and the Jets just kicked it.

soundmanager216

How did the Jets kick it? last I checked, no jets member has said anything, this is a forum for football fans to talk trash, obviously we cant predict how they play.

I wanted to know the same thing. Who on the Jets said anything? As far as I know Ryan said there was an advantage in QB and Coaching on the Pats part.

I'm gonna be brutally honest. This game will either be a close win for the Jets or a blowout for the Pats. If Sanchez wants to show the Jets are for real he's gonna have to tear the Pats D apart. I realy can't imagine what he's hinking right now though. Not too long ago he was playing college ball for USC and now he's playing in New York City for the first time in a real game hosting Tom Brady's Patriots. If the Jets win I'm giving so much credit to Sanchez.

It was Kerry Rhodes who made those comments.

"You go out from the first quarter on, from the first play on, and try to embarrass them," Rhodes said. "Not just go out there and try to win, try to embarrass them. Try to make them feel bad when they leave here. We don't want to just beat them. We want to send a message to them, 'We're not backing down from you and we expect to win this game, and it's not going to be luck, it's not going to be a mistake.' "

Yeah, I didnt remember the name but it was reported 3hrs ago in NYC that infact Rhodes did say something guys ^ The thing is that , he speaks for all teams that the Pats ran up the score on that will never forget and cant wait to beat the crap out the Pats. Yes, you play to win but the way the Pats were winning and "embarrassing" teams is debatable.

I'm guessing that anyone who thinks this will be close has more to do with a shaky start by a QB, rather than confidence in the opposing team. If Brady carries his productivity from the second half of week 1 into this game, who in their right mind is going to think the Jets will outscore NE?

There is nothing debatable about any of that. There is something called defense. It's the NFL. Nobody should whine about running up the score.

Yes but when your clearly up by a ton, instead of taking a knee towards the end or kicking it away in the 4th Q during 4th down, its ridiculous to go for it and score a TD.

Pretty much what the Pats did that year they almost went undefeated so it's not that bad, but of course ESPN will make a big deal to hype up the game.

I agree with you on this completly. If the pats play hard and win, then so be it. But he has to face a Jets defense that is much stronger than he has faced in the past and I dont think people realize exactly how good the Jets d has become but mark my word, people will realize they are more than the run of the mill defense.

Very close game, Jets just took the lead 10-9 on a terrific drive to open the second half. Should be an epic finish.

I still think the Pats win the division. The nice thing about losing this early is we won't have to endure another undefeated season/lose SB heartache.

All this after one game? Brady is still getting into things, Welker and Mayo were both injured, and the entire defence is rebuilding. "Changing of the guard"? No, sorry. The Pats aren't going anywhere.

Ok buddy. I didn't say the Patriots are winning the Super Bowl. No one can say that about any team this early in the season. Did I say the loss means nothing? No, it puts them in second and it snaps a pretty long streak. But this loss doesn't mean they will just lay down for the rest of the season, and they will not still be contenders.

Ryan, Turner, Gonzalez, it's just a matter if the Falcon D can hold the Pats, but if there is still no Welker or Mayo or whoever that other guy is then i think they have a good shot.

I love threads like this because it's great when it comes back to bite the TC in the *** The fact you didn't even think this game would be close is laughable, if you think these are the patriots or close to what they had before during there championship years then you're playing yourself.

I love threads like this because it's great when it comes back to bite the TC in the *** The fact you didn't even think this game would be close is laughable, if you think these are the patriots or close to what they had before during there championship years then you're playing yourself. andyboiii

Yup, it sounded like, someone was living in the past. He needs to contemperize MAN

[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]I guess the Dolphins won't be repeating, changing of the guard in the AFC East, i knew it and it was awesome watching my brother storming out of the house :lol:bball_freak_2
All this after one game? Brady is still getting into things, Welker and Mayo were both injured, and the entire defence is rebuilding. "Changing of the guard"? No, sorry. The Pats aren't going anywhere.

I fount it funny the commentators kept mentioning Wes Welker being on the sideline when it would of clearly made no difference if he was playing or not..
