ESPN is really pathetic trying to make it seem like the people of TN are completely ignorant as to people being able to have a dark side to them. Sure, we looked up to him, he was the foundation of the organization and was always involved in the community, so naturally everyone respected him. I don't know where I'm going with this, someone else may be able to fill in the words..but I don't like how ESPN is portraying the circumstances of his death and the reaction of Nashville..it's just incorrect and is not reflective at all.DeadMagazines
ESPN puts their spin on anything and everything, that's why I do my best to avoid them, anyway it makes me sick too, all the croc tears and pretense of shock.

At the very least they don't have any sanctimonious buttholes saying that, "he had to pay" like this thread does. Shame on those of you who would actually post something like that. I hope that people are just as merciless toward you when the time comes that you give into temptation.

I dont think anybody is saying he deserved to die. Just that he had to pay the consequences of his actions. Which in his case was death. Some people get sued, beat up,etc... for cheating but his punishment was death. He had no idea he would lose his life over this and nobody else probably did not think so either. You play with fire and you will get burned. What do you think should have happened for him being a cheater and betraying his wife and kids?

coltsfan4ever
I think that he should have been given the oppurtunity to reconcile with his wife and raise his boys, one would hope humbled and more appreciative of his blessings. Execution however, is out of the question.

I heard on ESPN News that Steve was going through divorce plans with his wife, so you can take some of the flack off of him. I'm sure a lot of us would understand if he saw another women while he was going through divorce.

On the subject of him cheating on his wife, I feel he deserved to get caught rather then he deserving to be killed.

no, he told his girlfriend he was planning on a divorce, not his wife. With his wife, they planned on moving into a new house, around the sametime he told the girlfriend they were getting a divorce.

This is so sad, everyone has to say their words just so

"The Steve McNair that I knew"

It's a shame that already people are saying "only remember this part of him"

It shouldn't be like this. I mean the guy was always in the conversation for the NFL Man of the Year.

Jaysonguy
yeah i know, he's still a great person in my mind even though I lost a little bit of respect for him when I found out he cheated on his wife. And did you guys see the Jeff Fisher press conference, he looked like he was about walk away because he couldn't take it anymore. I hope he and his family is ok too. R.I.P. Steve McNair

I did lose some respect for cheating, but I still consider how he paved the way for more African Americans to play Qb in the NFL, his humanitarian work for organizations, his toughness on the field, his leadership to his teammates, and how he helped the victims in Katrina. I will remember McNair as a courageous person, but it is a wakeup call showing professional athlete's personal lives are flawed. But that doesn't take it away from the legacy I will see from him and remember him.

I agree 100%, I hope Vick and Vince Young are taking notes.

C'mon Jeremiah, I'm sure that you understand figures of speech in english enough to know that, "he paid for what he did" is tantamount to "got what he deserved." Temptation and bad decisions are there for all of us and it's not for you or I to say when someone has or had not "paid" for their mistakes.

[QUOTE="Espurs117"][QUOTE="limpbizkit818"]Is it confirmed that he was cheating on his wife? Or is the murder/suicide idea still just a theory? If it's true then I have lost all respect for McNair. I watch all of these players along with the news media make the guy out to be such a great person on TV, yet he died while cheating on his wife? Greatcoltsfan4ever

While I do not support cheating, it isn't fair to flat out say McNair was an "ass" basically. We don't know why he did it. Maybe they were on a "break". Maybe she had cheated on him before. Who knows?

The guy was LEGALLY married still to his wife. I dont care why he cheated or the circumstances to have him be with this girl. The fact is he was a married man and father. He had no business doing what he did. Nobody can justify what he did. And even if his wife did cheat on him before why not just get a divorce then? But I have my doubts she ever cheated on him. But the point is moot. He got caught up doing something he should not have been doing and he paid for it with his life.

So what? My parents are legally married and haven't been together for years. Some people don't wanna go tru the divorce, it costs money you know. McNair would of lost alot. Stop acting like you know their relationship because of what some book tells you is right and wrong. "If his wife cheated on him why get a divorce" Yeah, okay. Nobody deserves to die because of cheating. 50 percent of Marriages end in divorce you know, that means a good percentage are broken off because of cheating. So all these people deserve to die? Im sure you know someone who cheated on someone, why don't you start the lynching party there and then we can move on from there.

but I dont think when people say that, they mean it in that way, just struggle to put it in a more friendly tone, if there is one.

money isnt an issue when talking about McNair. He manged to simp a young 20yr old taking her on trips, condos, and buying SUVs while planning on buying a 3million dollar house for his family. He married a wife who is taken care of 4 sons, 2 of which arent hers. What was he planning to do with this 20 yr old, have more kids? He was just gassing her head up and look what happened. His best bet was to get a divorce, instead of doing what he did, he could afford it. You are right, no one deserves to die for cheating, just that, he got the worst end of it.

Of course it isn't he was an NFL player. My point was not everyone will just get a divorce for the simple fact of someone cheatin

Agreed. He got what he deserved imo. I dont care what anybody says you cant justify what he was doing. Dude was married with kids and he was caught up being with another woman.

ha....k buddy. judging by your comment i guess a lot of people in the world deserve to be shot and murdered. I'll bet you 90% of athletes/musicians/actors/celebrities/pretty much anyone with power and wealth who have the ability to have extramarital affairs, HAVE them in secrecy. Not to mention the number of average guys/girls who do the same. grow up kids, its not pretty but these things happen often

Steve McNair also inspired many African American quarterbacks like Vince Young and Jason Campbell so CleanPlayer is right.

Well the worst was true

Not only was he cheating on his wife with Sahel Kazemi but he was cheating on Kazemi with ANOTHER woman.

When Kazemi found out about the relationship it's said that she killed both McNair and herself

I loved the guy as a player and that's where it ends. There is no reason for anyone to hold any sort of admiration for his as a person

According to TMZ, she had a lot of stress involving her roommate moving out and car payments.Yes, because McNair's millions of dollars couldnt continue to spoil you  She also thought McNair was seeing someone else, could it be his wife  ? She most likely shot him when he was asleep. Wowz.
