Whoa, I wouldnt think that the autocrossbow would last so long.

heh heh, we'll see just how crazy Kefka can get. Sephiroth did some messed up stuff (I didn't cry over Aeris, but, stabbing her like that was cold...) Im in South Figaro tryin' to see if some guy named "Shadow" will join me yet (it's like every potential party member is cool) and how I'm supposed to give some old guy cider.

How are things in Chrono Trigger? Have you gotten a chance to play it yet some more, or, are you still collecting in XII?

queen_valentine

Oh yea! Once you have a tool, you have it forever! (Well, unless you sell it...)

I almost cried when Aeris was stabbed. I just couldn't believe it, you know? It was just so ruthless!

Oh man, I wish I could say stuff about Shadow and stuff but I don't want to spoil anything for you! I will just keep quiet... :P

This your first time in South Figaro then, right?

Mmm...I haven't played Chrono Trigger since last time. I actually haven't been gaming too much. I played a little bit of FFVI Advanced the other night and I just got Pokemon Diamond for my birthday so I've been playing a little bit of that too.

I have the next two days off so I think I will put in some gaming time then! :)

Yeah, I didn't know thatabout the tools in the beginning, so, I was nervous about using it (I figured I just had one, and it'd be some massive attack, then I'd have to buy more).

I think the only reason why I didn't get emotional about it was because before I bought the game, I searched FF7 on AOL's gamesite (I wonder if they still have that...havent been there in 10 years or so) for battle movies, but, the searchcame back as10 different "DEATH OF AERIS" posts/downloads. I guess if I never saw that, I would have been more pissed.

It is my first time in South Figaro. So alot happens with Shadow then? :) Nice! Anyway, I hope you have fun on your birthday weekend ;)

Haha, I am sorry that you had Aeris's Death spoiled for you! That sucks! That reminds me, once I was reading Entertainment Weekly and I was reading something about Harry Potter and it told me that [spoiler] Dumbledore dies in the 6th book. Hands down Kefka goes down as one of the zaniest villains ever. I liked how he was such a pompous jerk. They really gave him some great human qualities. He was definately one of the more animated characters. They need more villains like him. :)

Agreed!! I just love Kefka. He is definitely an insane villain.

I pretty much love the entire cast. I think my least favourites would have to be Relm, Strago (they just came in too late in the game, you know?), Umaro, Gogo (I know they're "just for fun" characters, but still...), and maybe even Gau. Although I do feel bad for the little guy.

Why Relm and Strago? I thought Umaro, Gogo, and Mog should've been taken out of the game, they really have nothing to do with the story. How is Umaro one of your favorites, he's a shoddy character and you can't really play him? Now I can understand Gau, he has a great backstory although you do have to pick up a few things to find his back story. He has a great personality, and contributes greatly to the story. He even brings comedy to the table.

lol, you know, I didnt know when I replied to this, the spoiler would show up too ;). It's cool though. I havent followed the books. But I just started watchin' some of the movies to see why HP gets so much attention (just 4 and 5 so far). And my friend said the movies and books are becomin' a 'lil different, so, I guess I can go in bein' suprised no matter what. Sorry for that though. I mean, I know how serious that series is...ALWAYS be careful when readin' about a series from a journalist.

Hahaha, that's crazy. I didn't know spoilers showed up on quotes either!

I like the books but I am not super into them like a lot of people are. Which is probably why I'm still on the 5th book. That, and I'm just not a good reader. And I mean not a good reader in the sense that I tend to start a book and then stop midway for no reason. Then I'll try to pick it back up but I'll forget what I was reading so I start all over again. And then repeat. :P

Wow Cecil it looks great, only I'm not sure what to make of it. Swords, and advanced robotics...? RPG, yet real time battle? It's going to be a crazy hybrid, hope it comes out great though. I've never seen anything like that before.

I only thought he fit because of his connection to Sabin. He did guide them through the Veltd, and find them a way to get back to thier friends. I thought they needed to give him more of a role. I would actually kind of like a sequal to this game, but instead give ALL the characters more spotlight. They should've focused more on each individual if they had that many characters. However World of Ruin kind of was a sequal in its self. I would've bought a sequal if it ended with Kefka winning. No other Final Fantasy had any kind of scenario quite like that. Final Fantasy VIII was somewhat similar, but it was horribly done. (My opinion of course.)

I agree with you, Gabranth. And I also liked Gau and didn't find he didn't fit... I thought he was quite funny, especially in the moments he was around Sabin :P

I'm glad though that even if Kefka didn't win in the very end, we tasted a bit of it when the world collapsed and he reigned from his tower.

Yea I know. I remember the very first time I played through VI I couldn't believe that Kefka had actually managed to destroy the world....it was so depressing.

I agree, no other villain has come quite as close. I loved how they made that part of the story. Time flies by, and you must gather up the old heroes and go and defeat the tyrant who triumphed over the good guys. Wow that game really makes me appreciate Square Enix. You keep making me nerd out over it. Hahahaha!!!! :D

Oh my god this is embarassing, but I remember playing it the first time, when I got upto the part where Kefka destroyed the world, I was totally shocked - shocked that I thought that was the end of the game A_A although afterwards when I realised the cast was still alive I realised, ohh it's still going :P

I never felt that side in which the bad guy actually got his way after all. Even though in the end Kefka doesn't win, I was still shell shocked that he managed to get that far. It was truly an awesome experience :)

~ Mind you I played this game ages ago when I was still young and dumb, don't tease me too much about that above :P

:P no way Langrisser! I thought the same stuff too! As I too was young when I first played FFVI (or III on the SNES). Definitely one of the most memorable scenes in gaming ever for me.

Especially after the whole scene at the Floating Continent happens, you hear that really sad organ music playing...and it's just Celes and Cid. It's so sad!!!!

I guess that makes us 3! It was so freaking weird and depressing when Kefka destroyed everything, I really couldn't believe that actually had happened in a game. The only other rpg I knew after FFVI that had a "shoking" ending was Breath of Fire 2, in which it had two good endings and the "bad one", where the dragons took over the world!

Yeah that was the World of Ruin music. It really made me go "NO FREGGIN WAY!". I was in total shock some thing like that happened. Before then most Final Fantasy's were light hearted and always ended with good triumphing never really losing. I truly think that was one of the better Final Fantasy. I hope they remake it like Final Fantasy IV. They could do so much then, but if they remake it they'll add another 4 characters. :D Hahahahaha!

Same here. I doubt they would remake 6 though.

They need to remake Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, and Parasite Eve.

I remember that, It was totally awesome! I didn't expect Breath of Fire 2 to have multiple endings. The part where you were given the choice by Ryu's mother to either face DeathEvan or do nothing :P It as kinda unexpected upto that point of the game to get that choice since it was pretty one-linear, so of course I chose to do nothing >_> That ending was scary to witness I admit that :D

You saw that wrong. I like remakes, but I don't like a company relying on remake for support(like Se has been doing).

Also remaking a game is fine, but remaking it the next year(or two) isn't good, especially if it's just a graphical update.

heh, finally, someone said it. It'd be cool if Parasite Eve was remade. I know it's gettin' a new cell phone game (http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q2-2007/051407b.html) but,I'd rather seethe game on somethin' next-gen (maybe even PSP if it came out as good as Crisis Core). Not sure we'd ever see Xenogears though...

Am I the only one who never liked Eve? I tried to, I really did. I never understood what was going on, and the fighting system was horrid. It seemed like a true nightmare from Square Enix, we are talking about the same game right? The one with a young man who is a hero who weilds a glow stick? I have heard of Xenogears, however don't know anything beyond its' name.

The only reason it's going cell-phone is because of Japan.

I'm serious though, why would Square Enix put a game on a cellphone? It is an absolute idiotic thing to do, and a waste of money. I highly doubt people are going to go buy a phone just to play a game. What were they thinking? They can't seriously have put together a quality game because of the limits on cellphones, and each phone has it's own limits. You'll need a good high tech phone just to even play probably.

You're asking the wrong people. That was a very idiotic thing to do, and a bad business move IMO.

They would of got more money releasing it for the PS2.

Yeah, even so if they wanted they could port it to PSP/DS. I think Dissidia is going to be a big flop too because they probably hired one of thier sub developers to create it, and the game it's self is probably going to be mediocre.

Probably.

I don't think that anyone from FF2-6 will be in Dissidia:(

This is the main reason

1. They aren't Nomura's designs. Everyone from 7-now are his designs.

The one thing to counter that is Setzer in KH2, but if that's the case, I hope no one from FF2-6 will be in Dissidia.

I like Nomura's designs, but I think the guy gets too much credit. It sometimes feels like he's the only one in the world who can create, and draw a character. It seems like he runs the show behind the scenes, at least thats what I feel.
