Locust aren't aliens, they inhabit the same planet. Helghast are humans that were altered by their home climate. It seems to be Locust are fighting what they see as threat to their planet. A commentary on humans need to plunder and destroy. I love killzone2 and have even gone back and played 1 again. Still don't see a compelling story/reason for the war. Also are their eyes red or is that the mask? Visari and the guy from Liberation don't seem to need one. Too many holes in the characters/story for me. I vote Locust.

Locust, gotta give props to the scariness of those beasts. The Helghasts are pretty intimidating as well but not as much as a Locust leader who has Kryll flying around him for his boss fight (General Raam FYI).

Locust backstory is being revealed in the games. I enjoy being in the soldiers shoes, learning about the enemy as they would. What backstory for the Helghast? A couple of rousing speeches at the start of the games? What was done to them? How were they "shunned and oppressed" as Visari claims in the intro to KZ1?

I agree. I don't remember that part either. The drones could have been humans, sure but what about the wretches? Were they their children? And the Kryll? They sure as hell did'nt come from a human.
The helghast don't even look powerful, so I'm going with locust.
Though neither games enemies are insanely original or amazing. Locust do look more badass though :)

Really? Please watch some Killzone 2 vids. Helghasts are just smart much more powerful than the locust. The Locust especially the Theron Guards are just standing while the COGS' are shooting them lol. They are extremeley stupid.
