I showed some Natal clips to a few people at my job and they all freaked out. And it wasn't a "wait a couple of minutes and then say it's cool" reaction, it was an instant freakout like "Holy ****, that's freaking cool"..None of these people were gamers and a few bought Wii's in the past for their families..If they get the tech down and market it properly, it could be successful for them. And from the looks of things they are on the right track. Showing it on Good Morning America and Jimmy Fallon within days of each other is a damn good start. They aren't even out of the prototype stage and they already have national coverage.

Eeeesh..... I don't know dude. I think MS might be setting either themselves or the public up for some floppageI totally get why someone watching that E3 trailer would be excited. What they show happening in that video is cool as hell. But as you know, a lot of it is half-baked.
For instance with the Burnout videos we've seen. You can't bring up any HUD or menu. So, what, you have to stop and pick up a controller to do that? If I want to use a manual transmission, how will it know when i want to up-shift or down-shift? Those are soem small motion differences I am not sure it will pick up. Then you can get into the REALLY insane stuff like the skateboard scanning and Milo.
As concepts for the future, I think they are excellent. I just don't think we are close enough to see most of this in real use this generation. I do think Natal will be used in games. And probably a lot more than what some fanboys will say (will be more than just wii-sports type stuff). But I don't see if beiung used a lot more than the six-axis has been so far this gen. A handful of games will do it justice. More will use it decently here and there. And the majority of games won't lend themselves to it much at all.
All opinion, of course. Wouldn't be the first time someone (yes, myself included) said, "that can't happen" and it does.
