My first impressions of the game when I first read about it is that it's trying too much, and found it a little funny that the first word that stood out in that review was schizophrenic. :P

unlike the 1up review game informers is actually pretty well written and addresses the many flaws of the game and also some of the positive aspects it has

It's AA now, but it was a AAA when it was first annouced, and has had huge hype because of how long they have been working on it... / hypeing it.

I'm not defending him, just saying this game has had it's fair share of hype.

played the demo just now and thought it was pretty good. not a 9 but an 8 in my opinion. 1up was way too harsh. the game is pretty fun IMO. graphics suck but you get to do some cool things and they throw in some rpg elements. its worth a rental i think. i like how they present the story and the gameplayis flashy and pretty fun. its not a killer app but its solid enough. no one ever predicted this to be the second coming of christ like Halo 3 or MGS4 so I dont understand why everyones making a big deal out of a couple bad reviews.h575309

It was hyped like crazy before it surfaced at E3 2006 (I think it was that year) and then it was dropped, only to be hyped again late last year and earlier this year. It's not hyped like crazy anymore, but there are def people hyped for it, and acting likt it won't be another lair, even-though everyone tells them it won't be AAA.

Too Human was supposed to be as big as Mass Effect, Both game were shown for the first time back in 2005, showed similar art and people were definitely hyped for both games, I go as far that Too Human got even more hype than Mass Effect did. It was one of the bigger exclusives for the 360. Then came reality, videos showed poor graphics, laughable art, poor animation, the more people see the game, the more hate it garnered.

Anyways, I don't think Mass Effect is that polished. Sure, it's a good game, but technically, it's just as flawed.

it was awesome with it's 2001: A space odyssey and Logan's run inspirations, not to mention it's messages of recicling work.out etc.

I also loved the ending, to me this movie is right up there with timeless sci-fi cla ssics like Logan's run, 2001: A space, odysse, Blader Runner, Star Wars, Dune, etc.
