[QUOTE="mistervengeance"][QUOTE="ironcreed"] What the hell ever. This will be one of those games that sells really well, but will have mixed bag reviews simply because it dares to be different. Some will love it, some will hate it. Truly a polarizing game in every respect.
As for myself, I have always known that I would love this game, and the demo only confirmed as much. And speaking of the demo, I cannot recall one that has made me want to play it over and over again, and I know that I am certainly not alone there. I think the addictive nature of the demo speaks for itself in regards to what the game will be like. Still extremely excited for it, personally.

in the same way big rigs dared to be different?Wow, what an accurate comparison there, lol. No, it dares to be different with it's gameplay. Which despite some of the early reviews, quite a lot of GAMERS who played the demo seemed to find refreshing after they got used to it. And I will admit that the unconventional gameplay felt very awkward to me at first, but after I played the demo the second time it flowed very well for me and it was a breath of fresh air. When games try to branch out and be innovative, some will get it and dig it, and others will not just because it is different. It is really as simple as that, my friend.
the core gameplay is bloody terrible and nothing can change that. i shouldn't have to play a game for 2 hours to like it, it should be fun to play right off the bat. at least the core gameplay should work.
The supposedly computer-controlled truck you're supposed to be racing against in the game never actually moves. It's right there next to you at the beginning of a race, but it has no purpose in the game. This is to say, actually, that none of the game's races have a purpose because there's no competition and no time limit. You win every single time. So unless you especially like seeing a winning-screen over and over again that reads "You're Winner!", there is absolutely no point in playing Big Rigs.
Gamespot
see, now that is DARING to be different. apparently gamespot didn't like the fact that big rigs was an attempt to attract people into gaming who aren't so good and get frustrated when they lose.
anyway, detracting from my half-serious metaphor there, if the core gameplay is terrible, nothing else in the game can redeem this. and i seem to have proven myself right with several PROFESSIONAL reviews backing me.
