2011 goty

There are a ****load of good games coming out this year that all stand a pretty good chance at taking the throne, but my money is on Uncharted 3. Just saying.

P.S. I couldn't fit all of the contenders into the poll, so I went with what I thought were some of the better shots

P.P.S. Okay guys, I'm sorry I forgot about ME3, and Skyrim and Witcher 2 and any other game that you think deserves to be up here, and there are alot of games that do. But as I scrolled through the comments, I've seen not one person talk about dragon age 2...

My personal one will likely be Mass Effect 3, dunno 'bout you guys.

Of those, I can only really see UC3 winning. I'm personally looking forward to Gears 3 the most on the list, but I can't see a GotY being a game that is primarily a shooter. I'm surprised DA2 & ME3 aren't up there though, being bigger than most the games on the list. I'd also throw in a new, promising IP, such as The Last Guardian. We could see a Demon's Souls sleeper of 2011 hopefully.

Of those, Uncharted 3. I see mine being between The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Uncharted 3, possibly Mass Effect 3, Diablo III if it releases, and maybe inFamous 2 if it is as much of an improvement over the first as it could potentially be.

If not GOTY, then at least RPG of the year. Geralt for the mother******* win.

I'm going to come out and say, killzone 3. Or the last guardian.

Diablo 3 (if released)

The Last Guardian(if released)

Uncharted 3

Mass effect 3

Killzone 3 or Gears 3(1 or the other is bound to be in the top 5)

Potential surprise contenders

Resistance 3

Infamous 2

^(both could make massive leaps from previous ones, like U1 and U2)

Elder scrolls

I want Killzone 3 to win but we all know Uncharted will win.

What, remove Killzone3 for Mass Effect 3. Have you gone insane man. Killzone rocks Mass Effect is just mediocre. If you want game for wimps get Mass Effect, if you want a game with some challenge get Killzone. But your right about the others no one cares about them.

I'd have to vote Gears of War 3. Uncharted has a far better story due to their amazing characters, but Gears has better gameplay and multi-player.

Naughty Dog is directing the game, again....you know.

So why wouldn't the game be anywhere near or even surpass Uncharted 2? :?
I'm personally expecting UC3 to outscore UC2 everywhere with a 97-98 Metacritic and solid AAAA (10) on Gamespot.

Also the number of games won't stop it from being recognized. Tons and tons games has been released this generation and UC2 was scored higher than all of them being the 6th highest rated game of all time.

Only Zelda, Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 are a threat to it. Other than that, I see no other game taking its place as the pantheon of Third Person Shooters like UC3 will be.

I don't doubt The Last Guardian is going to take the awards by storm. And Skyrim stands a pretty big chance too. All these other games are going to be solid... but nothing about them seems original or ground-breaking. What GS seems to like is fresh, highly-refined experiences. Considering SMG, MGS4, DS and RDR all took the GOTY awards... I would be surprised to see Skyrim or TLG take it.

I am pretty sure The Witcher 2 is going to put ME3 in check similar to 2007, so ME3 might stand no chance. Maybe the Last Guardian will shock everyone and score well and win on GameSpot.

you shouldnt hype games like that. you'll set yourself up for major disappointment =/

I'm excited for UC3 but im going to contain my hype so it willsurpass my expectations, making for a better gaming experience 8)

I'd say the witcher 2 has a pretty good chance of winning it.

I think TES5, Portal 2, Zelda Skyward Sword, are the only titles that may take it.

I don't see any of the Sony exclusives getting it, and TBH I see The Last Guardian flopping.
