i highly doubt that

I don't care, you doubts won't be helping my past ps3's.

your lies give me a good laugh

You're not gonna be laughing if you get the same problems I had.

What error code comes up? What region is your ps3?

I can't remember, have a fixed one now. All I know is that it was about 8 digits and started with an 8. I couldn't play games, but DVD movies worked fine. You happy. Oh, and I'm in PAL.

Very :D Since you are in PAL, and have a PAL system that is displaying an NTSC U/C error code.

I don't why you're all bagging on him. This is exactly the type of behavior lemmings exhibited when the quality of the 360 was being questioned. Granted the PS3 is nowhere near as faulty, it's still entriely possible that someone, somewhere has went through a bunch of them. And whether his claims are true or not, why does it matter so much to you that you just have to disprove him?

Well,
several reasons,
1. it's odd that of all the people in the world, a guy with a 360 avatar, a 360 exclusive game signature, and tons of 360 reviews, but no ps3 reviews, has torn through 4, count them 4 systems, all with the same error code that isn't even originating in his region.
2. It's super odd that his first post about it occurs in a thread displaying a 360 hardware failure
3. When things don't add up, they generally aren't true.

Why would they have different errorcodes for different regions? Could you provide a source to back this up?

I think he is one of those people who makes things up and states them as facts and as if he knows for sure to make it seem correct. I already told him he is misinformed.

Lmao.

Try having a 360 that DREs constantly and manages to scratch or in the case of Rainbow Six Vegas, crack right through the center. AKA ****ing my **** up. ;(

It's a shame that falcons are still breaking if they are in fact Falcons there, I see no reason for them not to be. Guess that when my 360 eventually kicks the bucket the one they'll send back to me won't be all that fixed.

Don't lie, you don't have a PS3.

If you're gonna lie, at least try to be more convincing. Add some PS3 games to your collection.;)

hmm... lets see... a disk read error... if you are seriously going to say that is a **** up.. It could have been the Demo they scrapped up for the weeks prior to GDC that caused that (software problem, not hardware) ... and secondly, the only reason they get RRODsat game demos is because they put the 360 in a case where it is able collect all the hot air from it and ultimately screw up the CPU. All I see is Microsoft messing up on one thing... keeping the 360 in an enclosed shelter= bad idea, because it was not built to run at extremely high temperatures. But in all honestly, do you have anything better to beat on than a few errors that take place at a game show?? ... I can almost guarantee that if someone stood around the PS3 demos long enough, they would be able to take a picture of something going wrong with the system.

1. Didn't a PS3 also die at E3 in 06 or 07? (It was also stuck in one of those transparent plastic boxes.

2. The first xbox didn't RROD, check the error code again. It's cables weren't correctly plugged in.

Someone just needs to clean the disk. it's not a red rings thing. Jeez, I had to clean the disk in my car cd player the other day to get it to play. You're reaching here, pal.:)ozmandayus
Actually you don't know that, so pass off your speculation as fact, a dirty disk might be the issue, might not. If I had to guess, I'd guess that this was not the issue because to leave a messed up system in the middle of convention hall I'd figure it has to be something that couldn't be so easily fixed. Basically, what I'm saying is that if it were just a dirty/smudged disc, as soon as someone who worked for Microsoft saw it, they would've wiped the disc and put it back in. Now of course Kotaku could've taken the picture in the minutes between the point that it messed up and someone who works for Microsoft saw it, but I doubt that is the case.

Your argument doesn't make any sense. It might have been an hardware error correct, but if it were, there would only have been more motivation to get the system replaced (do something about it), then just a one time misread of a dirty disc.

To everyone saying it is a dirty disc.....First of all why would MS have dirty discs? You would think their games would all be brand new. Unless the MS employeee who set it up was an idiot an mishandled the game. And like someone said before you would of thought an MS employee would have seen it and cleaned the disc off. The machine couldve just gotten the error and an employee hasnt seen it yet, or the MS employees are just too lazy to fix it, or something is wrong with the machine. Im guessing its the 360 is broken...

[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]3 year warranty. RROD = Who cares?EuroMafia

So in other words "M$ can shaft us all they like, teh teh warranty"

They haven't fixed the problem yet, atleast the consumer can relax for a while and not worry about RROD.

lol, what's funny is this broken console would not be covered under their 3 year warranty. I find it funny how the defense of a disc drive failure is to quote a 3 year warranty that only covers RRoD specifically. Guess you can relax.....until you get a disc drive failure.

1. Didn't a PS3 also die at E3 in 06 or 07? (It was also stuck in one of those transparent plastic boxes.

2. The first xbox didn't RROD, check the error code again. It's cables weren't correctly plugged in.

Krisgebis

If memory serves me right if cabels were not correctly plugged in you would get 4 red rings flashing (which I've done that before).

Im guessing its the 360 is broken...SaintTheKing

All I have to say is, when I had my 360, I left Madden 08 in the system, in the 3rd quarter of all most every game, I got that error. When I first got Forza 2, as soon as I put the game in, I got that error. How many other people had the same problem?

I happily laughed at microsoft when their machine red-ringed. Embarrassing or what? But this is just kotaku trying to be cool with "look, another one rofl!" It's clearly just a bad disc. The 'box is running right there, perfectly fine.

i also have a 360 but what good is Gears 2 if your 360 is broken? i hate having to worry about my 360 breaking everytime a good game comes out.
