what a waste of blu ray discs. should've made a KH HD combo instead. that will actually sell

I absolutely hate getting games from Gamestop, but I still go there for the ultra-cheap $5 and less games. I simply don't understand how someone would lose a case or manual, no matter how important, and have a disc scratched to near unplayable quality. Is it really that hard to keep a disc inside a case?I'm definitely buying.
It's really worth it if people HAVEN'T played the series at all. So for me, I think it's a good value. And I don't like my games or buy my games USED. That depends on how badly scratch they are. That's just me.

[QUOTE="tagyhag"]I bet if someone made a game that costs 200$, has absolutely no gameplay, but gives you either 100,000 gamerscore or 100 platinum trophies, people would buy it. :PBZSIN
Hell no.

I'd rent it instead.
Hey renting isnt a bad idea :P
Yup. If people could, some would just straight up buy gamerscore points and trophies. :([QUOTE="Bigboi500"][QUOTE="tagyhag"]
Would people really buy the collection just for the trophies? Really? :(

Which is really sad as those points won't even mean anything.
I can understand why a person would choose a version of a game that has points instead of the version that doesn't. It shouldn't be the main reason why you are playing the game in the first place though.

I would never thouch an un-complete game with my money.
Why do people expect Sony to add BC to the PS3 when the PS2 is probably making more money and selling more than enough to warrant their undying support for it? You'd see the same thing if Xboxs and Gamecubes were still being sold. It'll take a while, but I think BC will come out on the PS3 sooner or later. This collection isnt for me. From what i played years back, i couldnt stand Slo Cooper (Give me Jak collection anyday).
And no, having BC is infinately better than what Sony is giving us now.

I hate spending money there, unless it's on cheap used games.Nine times out of ten, you can find better deals at any other store. They've only recently been have good deals, and most people only buy from GS because they have no idea how much they're getting ripped off.
Agreed. Some people seem to think they're for status and glamour only. They're meant for personal goals, fun, and to back up claims, not "haha, I'm a better gamer than you are because of my gamerscore and/or trophy level". I can't stand that kind of mentality.
Bigboi500
Which is why I both want and don't want Nintendo to have something similar on the 3DS.
It's a double-edged sword. It could bring new dimensions of replayability to games like Etrian Odyssey, Mega Man or any random Nintendo Platformer but it could also mean a million of trash games that people would buy for the easy points.

That is true, ever since i started using amazon.ca i just stopped going to EBgames but only recently they been having some great deals like Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time new for only $19. that lasted for a week and also tekken 6 for $19. i got tekken 6 since it was a good deal to get it for that price, their deals last for a week so i been always keeping an eye on their deals
Really? 3 whole games that you probably have never played for 40$? How is that a bad deal at all?Sounds expensive to me...especially considering how old the games are.

Yeah, you have to be really careful when buying a lot of used games as once in a while you can find new version of the games for much cheaper than the average used copy is going for.
It's also a really bad idea to stay loyal to a single store.
It's nice to see that our playstation chat room, in which no one wanted PSMove, has now inspired you to fourm post about Sly  Of course im buying, thats 3 freaking platinums for the price of 2 PSN titles  hell yes!!!
Edit:darn! i didnt see the getting it for trophies option  that .01% would've been from yours truly :P
kairikh
lol not really, i wanted to make one since yesterday but because of the GoW3 thread i made reached to over page 6 i thoguht i'd talk about sly today and not let people see 2 threads from me on 1 day lmao and because i got a bit too lazy yesterday, didnt feel like typing :P

Used games are only good to buy at Gamestop when on sale and under $20, IMO. A lot of new games have hit the $20 mark for an unopened copy, which isn't as scratched up and actually comes with a case and manual.

I 100% agree on that. i only started using amazon this year. saved a lot of money by doing so, i used to buy my games day 1 for $79 including taxs before. thats the reason why i went on to amazon then found how great it is. agreed never stay on one store. always searching is the ebst way for saving money and be satisfied

Agreed.
Which is why the avarage price for a complete used game (in good condition) that I'm buying at ebay is around $8 (shipping included).
More than that and you can find most games new for a couple of $ more.
I already own all 3,but im still getting it. I havent played sly for a while and since no new sly game is in sight its a good way to get the fix.Plus TROPHIES!!!
Great deal, three games, with updated graphics and trophies on one disc for only $40. I'm getting it.
Now for a Ratchet and Clank Collection and Jak and Daxter Collection *crosses fingers*. :D

Exacly. Its also kinda addictive. Its hard for me to play a game with no trophies/achivments.
You must be joking...Sounds expensive to me...especially considering how old the games are.

Never been a fan of the Sly games. I do not think they were bad titles but I'm not to much of a platformer fan.
$40 for games that are in a higher resolution with trophies. No thanks.Stevo_the_gamer
This sounds correct.
Nah. I think these collections are stupid. I'll just get them for the PS2, I don't need trophies to encourage me to play a game.
I would probably buy this set since I never had the chance to play any of the Sly games back when I had the PS2.
Maybe if they were on sale for cheaper I may. I still have all three on the PS2 in perfect condition. In my financial situation, I'd rather spend the money on new games than old ones, even if they are some of my favorites (I love Sly Cooper)
Poll is messed up as it is not just HD and trophies, its also Move, 3D and convenience. I think it depends on the collection. The new sly collection is 3 games, in HD, with move AND 3D support, and trophies. That is well worth it. Makes the GoW collection look awful. Oh and btw the Metroid Prime Trilogy collectors edition is also WELL worth it. 2 amazing games remastered with widescreen and controls that make the game more fun and easier to play, plus the newly released game (metroid prime 3). Love the disc to death :). oh and in a sweet metal case lol.
$40 for games you could find in bargain bins for $5 each? Hell no.Guppy507
that's because you hate sony right?
the demands are high people are demanding hd remakes with improvements. over a million people bought the gow collection and the same will happen to the sly hd collection.

so you're saying that most of them didn't buy that collection because they don't have BC?they would all be full of jaggies in low res and look like crap on your screen too... This is RE-RENDERED (not just upscaled) 4xAA 720p with new textures with added trophies for each game. Its a complete series in a box. Figures lemmings and sheep would find fault in this... Let me guess you were praising Ninty when Metriod prime trilogy came out for limited time, but that wasn't re-rendered (how could they wii doesn't do HD), that didn't have trophies and it didn't get new textures, but I bet you praised it, am I right?sony finds anyway to make money dont they?i will not buy this i could get all three games for under 20 dollars now thats a complete waste of my money

Or he could have chosen to buy the original games for a cheaper price.
Something that unfortunately most PS3 users can't do.

so you're saying that most of them didn't buy that collection because they don't have BC? BC still looks like garabage... Upscaling is not the same as re-rendering. Re-rendering is like taking a PC game and uping the resolution, everything is rerendered, example playing Quake 3 in 640x480 and pumping it up to 1600x1200 big difference. This also adds 4X Anti-Aliasing, 3d support and move support for those that want it, and trophies. Much better then BC!!!![QUOTE="dethroned3"][QUOTE="Guppy507"]$40 for games you could find in bargain bins for $5 each? Hell no.-The-G-Man-

i'm royally pissed that sony removed bc. but c'mon, they're releasing 3 awesome games with improvements for those that haven't played the game.
have you ever heard of the super street fighter tubo HD re-make? the serious sam hd remake? the numerous new motion control gamecube games?
I'm pretty sure making money is the goal of every company. And besides I've played Sly 1 and 2 and sly 3 is what I haven't played yet. They're only doing this for the Sly fans and I think any Sly fan would be interested in this. Oh and I still think it's funny how everything about you screams nintendo fanboy and yet you deny being one.sony finds anyway to make money dont they?i will not buy this i could get all three games for under 20 dollars now thats a complete waste of my money
