360 better platform for shooters?

Sony Playstation consoles are the worst for shooters for me simply because of the controller layout. The triggers and thumbsticks are in awkward positions that makes me feel like I'm holding one of the first digital cameras and trying to take a picture. Couldn't disagree more with most in this thread. Except for the DPad, the Dualshock 3 doesn't come close to the 360 controller (in my opinion at the very least). I hated using the DS3 to play KZ2 after playing Halo & even MW2 with the 360 controller. As for Gears, I've never noticed any of the problems TC is having. But again, the DPad sucks on the 360 controller. Though I was always going to buy a 3rd party fightpad & stick for my fighters anyway.

MS this gen is burning too many first party bridges and they are putting themselves in a position to get screwed over in the future when it comes to exclusives and first party.

I don't understand why MS won't make new exclusives because their making billions from XBL and DLC fees and they dont have to support extra systems like Sony does.

And thats where I give SONY alot of credit. They have to supprot three paltforms and tehre still investing in the future. All MS has to worry about is 360.

360 controller is just perfect imo. The most confortable i have ever used. The dpad is pretty bad but i barely use it.

Fact is the 360 is a Shooter fans console, but the PS3 has many more shooters. The PS3 fanbase simply enjoys more diverse genres. 360 fans stereotypically are action junkies, not as diverse.

Haven't you heard anything 360 controller is better is fact, while it's opinion, and ds3 being better is opinion while that is fact. The DS3 is the better controller for every genre out there on consoles.

When I was used to the 360 controller and picked up a PS3 controller to play the placement of the analog sticks and the triggers in general felt weird and less comfortable. Than I got used to PS3 controller and noticed HOW LITTLE DIFFERENCE there is. It comes down to preference between the two, there is not one that is clearly better.

If this wasn't a console wars thread however I would say that M/KB > controllers.

When I first saw the 'Revolution'(wii) controller I though it would be perfect for playing FPS on a console, or even RTS, boy was I wrong ...

This. Although I can't aim with a mouse, I can recognize its accuracy over an analog stick once used to it. The DS3 sticks are longer and more sensitive than the sticks on the 360 pad, resulting in better leverage and it recognizing more subtle input. The triggers are kind of a wash, they're a better shape on 360 but, again, more sensitive on the ds3. Also, most shooters don't use the triggers on the ps3, so it's kind of a non-issue.
