I swear its only here(SW) that I see people who prefer 360 controller. DualShock is the greatest controller ever. imo, 360's analog placement is a joke. looks very awkward.

[QUOTE="Truth_Hurts_U"]

PS3 remote = small hands.

360 remote = medium to large hands.

When i use the sticks on my PS3 controller my thumbs always smash into each other. Then on top of it all I gotta stretch my fingers to reach the bumpers and hold them there. Instead of resting them on a trigger. There is many flaws with the PS3 controller. The only flaw 360 remote has is the D-pad.

I'm glad 360 has removable batteries. You can recharge wireless... And if your batteries can no longer hold a charge like my 2 1/2 year oldones can't do any more. You can easily replace them.

GrilledCharlie

I agree with this guy. I have larger than average hands, and they actually cramp up after a 30-60 min session of KZ2 or Socom. I have not had problems with the batteries on the PS3 controller, but I have 2 of them. So, when one runs out, I just charge it and use the other one. I do prefer just throwing in another charged battery pack on the 360 controller though...too easy. Since I play a lot of first person shooter, I definitely prefer the 360 controller. It just fits my hands better and seems to be made for shooters.

thats the point, it is made for shooters. DualShock is an all rounder.

My hands cramp with the DS3 after about 30 min of playing..The thing could be made of carbon fiber, titanium and control the space shuttle would not change a thing....the ergo's are just horrible..

The 360 controller is better for a longer period.....I don't play fighters and the games I do play have very little interaction with the d-pad....by no means is it perfect...but of the two..... I prefer the 360 controller...

[QUOTE="sikanderahmed"]nah the sticks are fine for fighting games, maybe not good for 2D games but 360 controller D-Pad is good enough for those games

foxhound_fox

Analogue sticks are never fine for fighting games. Its either d-pad or arcade stick.

The 360 d-pad is good enough for nothing. It is possibly the worst d-pad ever made and severely hurts the 360 gamepad's all-around functionality.

Try the new D Pad......its infintely better

actually have to agree, reason why i stopped playing my PS3 and K2 honestly. The controller bugs me a lot...for racers and games like RE5, its fine..but everything else, its uncomfortable to use. Still can't believe it uses rubber buttons and the controller just needs to be bigger. All sony had to do was increase the size of it. and 3 generations with the same controller...come on. Still wish they went with the boomarang. To bad people ****** about it and sony changed it.

I love my play-n-charge kit for 360. Rechargeable AA's can't be plugged in and charged while playing.

On the 360 controller, the 360 analog sticks are diagonal from one another. It's a bit of a stretch, and somewhat uncomfortable. It also frequently disconnects from the console when played wirelessly. While the D-Pad feels right on the right of the analog, it's not as functionable as the PS3 D-Pad. I'm judging this from when I played Gears of War 1 on a 360. The controller didn't feel right to me. I also don't like the fact that the controllers run on AA batteries. These are kinda old, and seem to suck even more battery out than Lithium ion battery(the PS3 controller battery). If it's rechargeable, good, but I don't enjoy buying a charger or replacing AAs when they run out of juice. At least the batteries ARE replaceable, so if your controller has rechargeable AAs, and you manage to get something to charge it, you can just replace the batteries when they run out of charge. I prefer the DualShock SIXAXIS. Some motion control is interesting, the analog sticks are asymmetrical(a good fit), and the D-Pad works better, though I prefer the left analog stick for movement and D-Pad for other actions. The R2 and L2 controllers kinda hang on the edge, though, which I don't really like. I also like the PS Button to access the system interface. However, I don't like the fact that batteries are irreplaceable. That means when my controller runs lower and lower in charge, eventually, it won't charge anymore and will either have to play wired or buy a new controller. So far, though, this isn't a problem for me, and you can play the controller via USB wired when the battery is out of juice.

i use the d-pad all the time for quick weapon selection, menus and so forth and yes the 360 d-pad is pretty lame i have to admit that.

i actually prefer the dual shock, and it's all because the triggers on the 360 have a petruding plastic bit underneath that pushes against my middle finger, making it a little uncomfortable to hold normally. Otherwise i would prefer it as i prefer it's larger size, and it "fills" the hands better. I hate the trigger on the ps3 controller they feel so nasty, but i like the rest of the controller. If they go the 360 trigger route next gen the dualshock is awesome.

I don't have the play and charge kit, I thought it used standard rechargable AAs. I'm not sure why they wouldn't have gone that route...

My family lives off rechargable AAs. We've always got a stock of charged ones laying around, so I never needed a play and charge kit.

proved my point...can't really complain when the majority of the d-pads use rely on text/selections, etc...thats just being picky. Good enough.

What's the use of pressure sensitive buttons these days? Only thing I think they would be useful in is racing games, and we now have triggers for that.

i though the same thing whats the point of preasure sensitive face buttons? let alone that you have what half a milimeter between pushing it and full contact you have to have the lightest touch ever to make use of preasure sensitive face buttons the ds3 uses plastic rubber contacts just like the 360 controller preasure sensitive face buttons aren't used in most games cause its quite literally worthless.

Haven't we done this before? Its fairly agreed that the asymetrical analogue sticks of the 360 are better, and the d-pad on the dualshock kills the 360's. Other than that, its just what you're used to. Let it go, please. This argument has been sucked dry a long time ago.

In my opinion, pressure sensitive buttons over round ones. I'm talking about the middle controls, but either way, it isn't that big of a deal.

I used to think the 360 gamepad was great... then I started using it a lot.

The analogue sticks are too thin and concave which makes it hard to hold it in one direction for extended periods of time. The face buttons are not pressure sensitive and are too round. The shoulder bumpers are hard to hit with the index fingers. And the d-pad was invented by the devil.

Sure, the thing fits into your hands but the Wavebird slaughters it. And hell, I prefer the Dualshock despite it causing severe hand cramps... at least it has a d-pad that is usable.

foxhound_fox

My sentiments almost exactly. However, to me, the absolute worst part is the bumpers. They feel cheap and can be hard to use with your index finger, especially LB when trying to support the controller. The DS3 does suck more for FPS, but I find it superior for all other genres. And really, for FPS, all controllers blow anyway.

here is my thought: the 360 controller analog placement and button are wonderful for 3D game and FPS. but fail miserably at fighting game. to bad the Dpad felt unresponsive and really inaccurate . the DS3 are all round works in every game genre, it felts small and light. the only downside are the trigger which are absolutely awful.

i have no problem using the ps3/360 controller, but the 360 pad seems to be not wide enough for my hands, my hands feel kinda cramped compared to ps3;s. the analog sticks actually are better on the dualshock tho.

ok, on the 360 pad it's like the handles are too big and it makes the fingers of both of my hands touch while using the pad kinda. ps3's controller is easily more comfortable, the analogs have further distance on ps3's and they are smoother,

seriously the right and left buttons above the triggers are ackward to try to reach when you have both thumbs on the analogs on 360 controller. it's more comfortable on dualshock when you have both thumbs on analog and using ur index fingers to press left or right buttons.

haha, i remember playing playstation 1# and the dualshock wasnt even released yet there wasnt any analogs on the controller only a d-pad. but when it was released it bought it, didnt think much of it because not much games supported it except maybe crash bandicoot. but ps2 is when dual analog games started being made alot, when you think about it sony did pretty much revolutionize how console games are played. the n64 controller had 1 analog, and 4 buttons you could use for movement like the arrow keys on a keyboard, but a analog is better for movement because on the n64 pad you had to control 4 buttons with ur thumb, using analog for movement you can change from walking slow/fast just by lightly pressing down the analog, also the analogs themselves are buttons press it in.. it's just better using a analog than 4 buttons like n64 controller had lol.

uh or you could just connect it to a cord and play corded unless you really want to throw the controller away. They do sell usb to mini cables in larger lengths so it's not like length is much of an issue either.

The DS3 vs. 360 pad debate is kinda humorous. The original Xbox's controller was not good, so Microsoft changed it by just making it more like the Dualshock

360 controller and dualshock 3 are both good for different games. For some reason i liked bioshock and call of duty 4 better on ps3, but then other shooters are better on 360. Most other games i prefer the dualshock 3 just because ive had a ps1 and ps2 and its justa nostalgic controller. but i agree that having to put new batteries on the 360 controller is bs.

Why dont you just wash your hands after eating or after touching dirty things before you play? If you touch your controller with your hands with oil of food, Im sure that any controller may feel like butter.

True, but the Dualshock and the original PS controller are basically a SNES controller with two prolongations for more comfort.

The crucial thing when comparing the sixaxis and the 360 controller is IMO, the placement of the analog sticks, and the overall feel of the controller, and 360 wins hands-down...
