unless you can so me some hard EU numbers or some historical data showing EU percentages Vs US numbers its fact 360 hasn't sold 10 as of Feb 07

Estimates could be more, could be less than the actual number stated. Of course if you wanted to make MS look bad you'd say "Oh they sold less" but it could be just the opposite because the numbers aren't exact. Anybody can pull numbers out their ass when they are talking about estimates. Your little math demo just proved that the blog is just trying to make a big deal out of nothing. The same thing is happening to Sony AND Nintendo right now.

 Denying what? You can't come to grips with the fact that the demand for the PS3 is now less then the demand for 360. Face it, there isn't a market in the world where PS3 is in heavy demand...

Thats why they dropped their sales predictions. With 10.4 sold to retailers, Retailors are well stocked with them, And since Numbers sold to retailor are more than those sold to consumers M$ now has to wait until The walmart's etc clear there investories tbefore they can sell to them again.

It isn't demand that dropped, its M$ oversocking the retailer chain which dropped the forcasts

NPD doesn't actually survey some retailers, including walmart, but they EXTRAPOLATE those numbers into their final totals.

This has only been said, on this forum, about two hundred times. Pay attention and stop spreading misinformation.

the rea; money in consoles is in the software,  that's why consoles historically were sold at a loss.  look at all the million selling titles on the 360.  if they are manafeing that without halo and less than 10million sold then they are even farther ahead than ms claims to be.  that would make sony and nintendo have no chance of ever catching up.  the 360 will win the '07 holiday season too,  with halo3 and a price cut.  the 360 has won,  nontendo made a strong showing taking second,  and sony ...well the king is dead long live the xbox.rdo

I'm glad I could clear that up for you. 

I still think that no one can really claim anything as fact as long as everything is calculated by estimation.

I think some of what the dude wrote could be somewhat accurate, and think that the 360 is around 10 million sold.

But I lost all credibility for the article when he stated that the PS3 is on track to out sell the 360 by the end of the year. This dude obviously has a hate on for MS, and the article obviously show this. He lost crediability with that hilarious and obvious outright lie.

Besides that, the harsh reality is the the inferior hardware Wii is outselling both the 360 and PS3. And the 360 is outselling the PS3. Wii will do really good for the next 2 years, but drop off after that. It's graphics are really dated, but the control scheme will keep it in the game for a little while along with it "Mario" games.

says that as of the date the article was written (4/10/2007), the 360 has yet to have sold 10 million unit. the article says that MS employed "channel stuffing" to allow them to announce higher sales figures than were true. also explains why MS officially announced the elite at the end of the quarter in order to boost sales figures through booking reservatons for the new console version. MS is undoubtedly in the lead for this game gen currently, but tactics such as these have an air of desperation and you can only wonder how long will its lead last? the article also has a whole bunch of intersting info on the dealings between the manufacters and the retailers.
