[QUOTE="Neal_Gore"]Not really since the some of the people that play WoW are the same people that talk smack about XBL being 50 bucks a year

And since you label lemmings as the same then you hermits must all be the same too

-The-G-Man-

And how do you know this?

Xbox Live is not optional if you want to play games online.  MMOs are optional.  The 360 has an MMO as well.

I am not going to get to much into this but in terms of WOW its a way bigger ripoff to play than XBL...but thats all I will say and I know not every pc game requires you to pay to play

The funny thing is the people that look exactly like their character in the WoW and I'm talking about the dwarf

When I'm a senior citezen I'll think about getting into silly games like WoW

Typical response. Say a good game mentioned on the system you don't like isn't good because you don't like it, which you are probably saying you don't like in the first place simply because it isn't on your favorite system. I swear, you people need to be more original.

I own a PC that would be considered in nerd talk as a "sweet gaming rig or sexy gaming machine" but i'm not paying 15 bucks a month to live in the World of Warcraft when I'm happy living on planet earth.

Hermits talk about free gaming and yet they pay 15 bucks a month for WOWzers which comes out to 180 dollars a year

Not every PC gamer plays WoW or MMOs so you fail.

Not really since the some of the people that play WoW are the same people that talk smack about XBL being 50 bucks a year

Well you need XBL to play against other people online in every game, you don't need WoW to play against other people online in every game.

XBL isn't like free PC online gaming.

With PC gaming you got a bunch of serparate services for voice, buddy lists etc. etc and with XBL you have all that in one nifty package.

Of course they are trying to change that with vista and games for Windows

with XBL you dont even get dedicaded servers lol....WTF are you even paying for.

BTW, you have obviously never heard of X-fire.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]Thats because it offers just as much play time as continuously buying other games. For the sheer ammount of content the game offers, 15 a month is trivial when you think how many games you'd have to buy to get just as much content.Jandurin
But, that's 180 a year.  I don't spend that much on any 1 game ever.  Furthermore, you still buy other games.

I don't. For me, WoW is the go to game. I have logged over 780 hours over my time playing. Do I need do figure in how much 780 hours worth of 20 hour games priced at 59.99 on consoles would cost? A lot more than 180.

Maybe you should look up the costof dedicated servers. There is someone paying just be happy they don't pass the cost over to you. They do ask for donations which I am sure none of you ever give.

The only MMO I know of is Final Fantasy and you do not need to be a gold member to play it online. I cannot believe PC gamers complain about a mesely $50.00 a year. Hell i get my subs for $20.00 on eBay.

Final Fantasy would be that MMO.  I simply pointed out to him that while he bashes PCs for having MMOs which you have to pay to play, the 360 has one such game as well.

The fact still remains that online play is free for PCs and on Xbox Live it is not.  You don't have to pay for most of the features of Xbox Live anyway.

That's why you buy 40 hour games for $20 after the gen is over for your go to gaming.

That would come to $390 for 780 hours of play, but with a different experience for each game.  I guess, then, you have to worry that you won't like those games.

In the end, I think I would get bored of WoW long before 780 hours came around.  That's like 15 hours a week (over a year).  I checked in the calculator.  My estimate was EXACTLY on.  Go me.

I could see people getting bored before that mark, but in the end, WoW is a lot cheaper when you sum up play time value.

In many ways i think Xbox Live gaming is much better than PC online gaming regardless if it's free or not. The thing about live is it's like a huge online community of gamers and we are all connected regardless of what game we are playing. I know there are stuff like Xfire but they are not integrated and I for one never used it. Also having voice in every single game is a major plus.

If you're looking for great FPS, RTS, and RPG's you get them.

FPS - Halo 3, BioShock, F.E.A.R, Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway, Call of Duty 2 & 4(Treyarch makes crappy games), GRAW, GRAW 2, Rainbow Six Vegas, Half-Life 2: Orange Box

RTS - EndWar, Halo Wars, LOTR BFME2

RPG's - Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Mass Effect

Action/Adventure - Assassin's Creed, GTA IV, Splinter Cell 4 & 5, Hitman Blood Money, Condemned

So for anyone whos interested in PC games but can't afford a PC that can run all the games then get a 360.

jimmygrace

no 360 makes for a very very bad pc . ps3 can be used a pc with linux 360 cant . by the way "great rts" you got to be joking lol it like what 2 rts games lol . it may be cheaper then a high end pc however the games are much more expensive . pc>>>>>>360

If we, talk strictly as a gaming machine, the PC still gets the most high quality games....

As far as games go, it's totally a preference thing. Some people like Console offer, some like what the PC offers.

Most of the 360 titles are on the PC, anyways.

Console don't last 5-10 years, either.

Also, the PC I proposed, had a 8800gts as the gpu, which even 10 years from no, will be producing much better graphics than the 360.

projectpat2007

Consoles are built to last gamers 5-10 years

NES 85-92 (7 years)

SNES 90-98 (8 years)

Genesis 89-97 (8 years)

PS1 (95-03) (8 years)

ps2 (2000 - current)

etc, etc

Thats what I mean't. Yes there are a lot of 360/PC titles...but then there are a lot of sports, fighting, car games that aren't on PC. Like said, it's who likes what...

If we took a 7 year time span, lets start fresh...

in that 7 years, the last of console games will be out for that respective system, the developers drained every last ounce of power from that system.

Now lets take that same 7 years for the Geforce, when we combine the ever evolving technology market under PCs...the GF would last maybe 3 years before it would become unplayible with the newer games You see what I mean, you get way more out of consoles then you would any singe component in PC's. Thats because however that there are so many variables in PCs, so many denominators to deal with, you can't fully EVER take advantage of the power they are given...it's sad but true. That being said, PC's are more powerful yes, far more potential.

Get your subs on eBay. I never once paid retail for mines. It's like $20 - $30 for one year. I don't mind the fee once it guarantees all these features in all games.

I tried Rainbow Six on the 360 then on the PC but the PC version has no voice support. Kinda lame for a game that requires teamwork.

512 gddr3 ram

your going to need intel core quod  just to have more cpu and that costs 100s of $ by it self and 360s high speed ram is expensive . also 360 has a moded ati 1800 gpu witch would cost u 150$ to beat that .

Um.. the 360 lacks everything that makes a freakin personal computer a personal computer.... It only has games!

If TC didn't know, games is an extra for pc's, not the most improtant thing about pcs.

[QUOTE="NobuoMusicMaker"]Uh I can make a PC that's more powerful than the Xbox with less cash involved.cobrax75

lol sure u can do u know 360s specs?

3 core at 3.2 ghz

512 gddr3 ram

your going to need intel core quod just to have more cpu and that costs 100s of $ by it self and 360s high speed ram is expensive . also 360 has a moded ati 1800 gpu witch would cost u 150$ to beat that .

you dont even need close to a quad core.

Agreed, console CPU and Computer CPU's are vastly different. Console CPU's are made for number crunching and nothing else...and while the Xenon CPU in the 360 is a more well rounded CPU vs Cell...it's not even close...

There was some experimenting going on a while back. They came to the thought that each PPE in Xenon was equal to a p4 1.8Ghz.  So Xenon is about 3x dual threaded p4 1.8Ghz CPU's. Thats about as close as a comparision as you'll get. Is that bad, no..esp. in a gaming env. but in the grand scheme of things...PC CPU's will whip the floor with console CPU's.
