360 only leading PS3 by 6 million now.. down by 2 million in 3 months..

Should PS3 match or exceed 360s install base developers will do what they have always done this generation, one game; three platforms.

PS3 won't get more exclusives as a result of having a install base lead, perhaps it would of last generation; but not this generation.

People forget that MS is still making a profit on every unit sold.............while sony is not. So MS can (and will after the holidays) drop the price of the console. What happens then? All this assumption is that they remain at the same price for the next year. MS isnt that stupid, if they see sony making a dent in the lead, they will drop the price, even if they lose money on every unit. MS is making a hefty profit, and sony just posted 700m loss. MS can EASILY afford to lose money on the unit since they have the highest software sales, attach rate, more DLC sold, the juggernaut that is LIVE fees. when considering what the numbers might actually be, it's not likely that the ps3 will pass the 360 during the 360's active lifetime. we've been hearing these dominance predictions yearly.

It didn't outsold games...the Gran Turismo series has outsold gaming consoles buddy. Each one of those game have sell ABOVE 5 million including Metal Gear Sollid 4...that was at 4.75 million copies at the start of 2009, so clearly all Metal Gear Solid games have sell ridiculously well and the name Metal Gear is pretty damn popular across the whole gaming world.

Sony has the biggest 1st party tittles among the big 3...but by a HAIR, compared to Nintendo.

While they have fallen hard on their butt this generation and some might just consider it an embarrassment on their part...those guys needed a deep hit. Their arrogance was way off charts believing the whole PlayStation community would jump without hesitating at the next PS console with a price so high its audience wouldn't notice. Not only that but they decided to take different risks with expensive hardware, and lies such as the 120fps, 4D, ect. Just to sell their clearly expensive console.

But don't underestimate the power of the PlayStation. Its brand power is damn strong for a console to sell this great for 3 and a half years with a price so flawed at a time when the economy is at its worst since the Great Depression. No CONSOLE from the competition would have done this, and survived this far....none. I might even say the success from the 1st PS console and PS2 saved Sony's arrogant ass this generation seeing how it built up some followers on their part and give them a damn well respectable 27 million consoles sold with 1 of the highest, if not the highest expensive gaming console ever and STILL comeback strong at the worst time in humanity's history.

I while I might not see the future...I don't see it an impossible thing for Sony to comeout 2nd place this generation.

The PS3 won't catch the 360 until the end of the gen when Microsoft stops production of the model. I love my PS3 but it is only beating the 360 by 150K a month right now. At this pace no way it cuts the to the 4-4.5 million lead by the end of this year that the TC states. Hey lets just be happy that the PS3 is a very viable system this gen finally.

When Natal comes out 360 will sales will easily outsell PS3 again.

There will probably be a price drop aswell when Natal comes out.

Sorry Cows but the PS3 is never going to catch up in sales.

Don't you think I know all of that? The 1st party exclusives I'm referring to that weren't system sellers are on the PS3,not PS1 & PS2, thank you very much. I've been a PS fan since the PS1 days, but stop acting like Sony is invincible at everything because they're not.

Gran Turismo is comming in 2010....and it still WON'T change the fact that the series has outsold ANY Xbox 1 & 360 games to have ever been released including BOTH Xbox gaming consoles.

So you want to talk about 1st party games selling? Where ever you go, you'll have Gran Turismo 5 invalidating any sales arguments regarding the annoying Xbox 360vs PS3 argument. Hell, the Demo outsold the last 2 Forza games.

God of War 3 is another system seller, thats massively popular just as Gran Turismo is.

Also, let's not forget that the reason why they're at the 27 million mark now was because they had to keep coming out with more SKU's & constantly dropping prices just for them to play catch up to the 360 & for them to stay in the gaming market. That's the only reason why they got 27 million sold in such a short time in 3 years.

if natal is exactly like the trailer video, I bet MS will get their ass sued because many users will get injured for swinging, kicking, and punching in air.

Exactly. Cows are getting all cocky just because Sony lowered the price of the PS3 down to $300 & has brought out the slim model. What will happen when MS drops the prices of the 360's down to $150 & $250? Especially when they bring out Natal next year? And not to mention that Natal has been getting a lot more attention than the PS wand is from both 3rd party developers & consumers. Yeah. Then what?
