3DS graphics comparison by (IGN)

well now your doing the same that TC did when he made this thread.

he Gave 1 game and advantage, Both should be viewed fairly, which means small 3DS screen and big Xbox360

Trying to compare a handheld screen versus a 46 inch LCD is just ludicrous.. yet here we are, talking about how close 3DS graphics are to consoles.....

as for power, IMO it's on the gamecube's level, kinda like ds was n64 level.

Resident Evil does look pretty sick, but I'm not forking up $300 for the 3ds.

I know things have changed since then, but Wii was the same price and was $250 in US, not $300 like people keep saying...

Nothing here impresses me, the 3D could have the possibility to change that though.

So instead of adding a new thread i thought id ask this here. So is the MGS 3d an exact remake(of sorts) for the 3ds? or is it like its own thing? Cuz that would be the sickest thing ever if it was the actual game

That was the whole point of the comments, though. That at that size screen and resolution the technical specs shouldn't equate the visual fidelity.

That's really dumb that they shrink down the 360 screens to 3DS size. A 720p game has about 10x as many pixels.

Also this claim about near 360's visual seems unfair, Considering when u lower the resolution, There are alot of details lost in transition, Hence making it easy for the 3ds to replicate .

1. You stretched the image, I can stretch a pic Crysis and that'll distort it.

2. The 3DS is graphically impressive and can really push graphics for a handheld because the screen is only so big.

3. You're taking the comparison way too literally. You should think, if the 360 was plugged into a 3 inch screen, how good would it look in comparison to these 3DS games. And through some of these screens, surprisingly close.

On topic:

Ridge racer looks terrible. Otherwise all the games look good. It's nice to see Nintendo actually updating the graphics for the N64 games. Metal Gear and Resident Evil are very surprising, they look great.

Mario Kart has never been a game to push polygons.

3DS destroys them graphics wise with comparable size screenshots.

3DS graphics are great. Some games look even better than the Wii, in comparison.

Yeah, the RE5 screens are sort of unfair considering there's a lot more detail in the HD screens that's masked by the small size.

Oh well, the 3DS is still looking really nice.

Zelda OoT remake makes it an insta buy.

All those games look great, but ridge racer has terrible graphics.

(but racers on handhelds always look terrible.

They rly need to fix OOT up. Everything looks like it has a self illumination shader, and isnt being affected by any light sources. I mean it still looks nice, and very colorful, but the lighting is kinda ticking me off. Other than that most other games look rly nice with the exception of ridge racer.

Edit: Potentially Nintendo could make this the best looking Zelda ever :P I doubt they go that far though.

Very good graphics. Especially some of the 3DS pictures sizing up to the 360 games (Street Fighter).

The days of bad 3D graphics (On hand helds) are over.

I'm a little disappointed by the Zelda screens. Looks like only the character models got an upgrade.Zero5000X
