I don't see what people aren't seeing in Zelda. The texture work is much improved and the clarity is increased also. Snake Eater looks amazing on the 3DS, That is the game that is making me want the 3DS so bad. TheColbert
I don't think they are claiming it looks bad, but moreso that more work could have been put into it. Considering that these games are rehashes, I can't really disagree with that. Part of it could be that RE looks unbelievably good--imagine seeing the Zelda remake and having your mind blown.
[QUOTE="AmayaPapaya"]Agree, not that big of a change. I'm really impressed by how great MGS3D and RE look :o Really I'm fine with OoT not changing, it's a massive open world to reproduce on a handheld, and it probably runs at a higher FPS than the N64 version.OOT doesn't look like it is upgraded too much. Mario Kart looks amazing though.

But yeah MGS3DS spanks the Ps2 version's graphics around and Revelations is almost on par with RE5, and RE5 isn't a bad looking console game!
MGS looks amazing i'm difenetley getting the 3ds first day if RE revelations and MGS3 are launch games.johny300I want the new Professor Layton, MGS3DS, Ocarina of Time 3D, and RE: Revelations at launch.

I'd rather have a quick Ocarina of Time port first then see work begin on a brand new Zelda. What I'd like most is an OoT/MM dual pack, but that's unlikely. Oh man, this probably means the cel-shaded style will stay on handhelds, but now it'll be like Wind Waker, like a traditional 3-D Zelda. I'm so excited :D.[QUOTE="windsquid9000"][QUOTE="oldkingallant"] Actually Snake Eater isn't being ported to the 3DS, Subsistence is :P. Sorry had to be a smart ass.oldkingallantI thought it was Snake Eater with a free camera and new [handheld oriented] content. To my knowledge it looks like Subsistence. Just going off the camera, and at least to me if it's not top down it's not Snake Eater. God I'm glad they released Subsistence, playing with the top down camera got annoying when there was an enemy 2 feet in front of me and I'd walk around the corner, thinking it was clear, just to end up in a big fight.Yeah, I think I was only able to make it through the first two areas without getting detected. :P And I say "Snake Eater with a free camera" because I'm don't think they're bringing over Subsistence's extra content.
Weak hardware and a very very low resolution better be no more than $200 australianUltizer
Perhaps we need to reiterate....
Left is 3DS, right is RE5... considering this is a handheld versus an HD console, that's impressive.
MGS3-D vs. MGS3 on PS2. Wrecks it, not even a comparison. So it's at least beyond PS2 level graphics.
Looks about as good as Mario Kart Wii.
This is a port of a Zelda game on a handheld... a full 3-D Zelda on a handheld. The graphics will be better when they make one specifically for 3DS, but even pulling off Zelda on a handheld is impressive.
The fact that the SSFIV graphics even compete with those on the PS3 and 360 is a massive accomplishment in handheld tech.
Now think of the fact that they will all be in 3-D.
How is this weak tech for a handheld again?
Oh and just for emphasis:
To my knowledge it looks like Subsistence. Just going off the camera, and at least to me if it's not top down it's not Snake Eater. And I say "Snake Eater with a free camera" because I'm don't think they're bringing over Subsistence's extra content. Same I played Snake Eater with a friend and at a certain point we just had to go nuts with a knife... surprisingly it worked. When I found a shotgun thinks just took a turn for the funny, I literally blew people back 20 feet with the thing. I'd still die over and over because I'd get detected too early and have to fall back to combat. Great game, just Subsistence is a massive improvement. Subsistence is definitely my favorite of them all.[QUOTE="oldkingallant"][QUOTE="windsquid9000"] I thought it was Snake Eater with a free camera and new [handheld oriented] content.windsquid9000
and might i remember that motion always looks better than still images. the street fighter 4 trailer that capcom's been showing around since the 29th is absurdly beautiful... and where are those "RE: revelations VS 5" gifs? because revelations is one of the most impressive-looking games announced so far.BrunoBRSI can't seem to find em, the cutscene shots are on par with most console cutscenes though so they're impressive too.

Of course it's subsistence. Birds-eye view worked for the older games but the jungle setting was pretty awful with it. . I've tried both versions and Subsistence is the version to get/port.

just because you said "port", i'm throwing this here: while it doesn't look like it from what they've shown, konami said the game is not metal gear solid 3 (and by that i think they include subsistence), it will only share the same story, or something on the lines.[QUOTE="Epak_"][QUOTE="oldkingallant"] To my knowledge it looks like Subsistence. It's a remake of Snake Eater, not a port. Yes, it has a 3D camera and new content, but it's not Subsistence's content.Of course it's subsistence. i guess not. unless you don't want the story too fresh in your memory :P[QUOTE="runbleduck"]the best graphics looks like a downgraded port to the PSPWilly105Actually, that's it at it worse. At it's best, it looks like RE5. Not really... it's simply impossible for the 3DS to ever look like RE5. It was a terrible comparison on IGN's part to downsample an HD game to 240p, when one of the most important reasons for RE5's good looks (as well as pretty much every 360/PS3/PC game) is its high definition detail. RE Mercanies looks great, but the two REs are in completely different leagues.
Man, just the concept of RE Mercenaries sounded great to me (even better if it has multiplayer), and seeing how good it looks too, its even better. Also, I forgot how MGS3 on PS2 looked. Holy crap does it look better on 3DS.Skittles_McGeeAre you basing that of a couple screen shots? The second screenshot of MGS3 for the PS2 looks nothing like what I have seen when playing that game, and the first one clearly looks better for the PS2. Hype is always fun though within reason.

I think what rly distinguishes those 2 pictures the most is the higher contrast in the 1st pic. Thats nothing more than a postproccessing effect.

Well no, I can see his point. It's not just contrast there is definitely better textures on RE5. But that doesn't mean that RE for the 3DS looks bad. The best graphics on a hand held yet. Much better than the Wii even. Can't wait for MGS3DS.Please Log In to post.
