At least handhelds are still about gaming, home consoles are more about milking, DLC and now you have to have a contract to play online that god knows what they'll plan to use it for. And ofcourse next gen consoles will cost much more.

considering how budgets to make games are rising every gen at high rates its unsurprising that handhelds and mobile gaming are gaining steam.

well, it's all opinions... I have only a DS and only for Zelda games (that suck compared to it's console counterparts), played M&L games (those own)...and PW games (were ok)Played PSP games too...PW was awesome, Gow were ok, but console ones were better and CC was great at least CC >>>>>FFXIII =/Giancar

You're chatting with quite possibly the first nomadic gamer (handheld enthusiast). I'd almost take handheld games over consoles all the time. :P

Zelda games (LA, OoS, OoA, MC rock; PH & ST were meh), M&L (all awesome), PW (only played first, awesome).

PSP games have been mostly ports for me. FFT (awesome), TO (better than FFT), etc.

Chrono Cross > FFXIII... but FFXIII > FFVII/VIII.

IX > XII > X/X-2 > XIII > IV/VI/VIII > VII > I/III/V > II/XI/XIV

3D IS overrated and so is 3DS. :cool:

VI has a few too many flaws. Leveling system is my least favorite part.

A remake is bound to happen for 3DS, ala FFIV on DS. But after V is remade, I bet.

Waiting for 3DS-"Lite" version to come out before buying. If Kid Icarus turns out to be good I will probably buy a 3DS at that time.

3D IS overrated and so is 3DS. :cool:

My kid's going to find a 3DS under the Christmas tree in a couple of weeks. We'll see how big it becomes.

I agree, with the handhelds becoming more accessable to the net and getting great graphics and capabilities, plus all the niche titles, handhelds are were its at.

I find it strange that the DS is getting almost more new releases than the 3DS is and that people are still buying the DSi despite 3DS being backwards compatible and selling at a comparable price. Nintendo really needs to kill the DSi if they want the 3DS sales and support to shine imho.
