I dont think its going to be as integral as having Live Gold to your Console Experince. But I really need to know more about all its going to offer before I make a decision. They made no mention of cross game chat, party options, or beefed up servers or connection streangths.

Actually it is. Its stupid that we have to pay for map packs left and right. With this you get it automatically. Hmm pay $30 for map packs or just get PSN + and get it for $50 with a ton of other stuff.

Okay, found a list: -Get a selection of free games every month -Auto downloads of content and patches -Exclusive content and DLC -"Title trials" of games The free games are only playable while you have a subscription, so it's essentially a rental service. Auto downloads...nice, I guess, although you'll still have to wait for them to install when you fire up a game. This should be a standard feature anyway given the size of PS3 patches. Exclusive content...so they're going to shift upcoming DLC into time-exclusive for people who pay $50? Without this service everyone would get it for free immediately? What a deal!

Premium DLC will still cost more money than it should, you'll just be able to buy it earlier if you subscribe to their service.

if they added cross game chat how would that work cuz u would only be able to talk to ppl who had the premium service and im sure most of my psn friends will never get it

$50 is only above and beyond what is already free. The only reason I can think of to pay the money is to get all the free games they will provide each month. Then again, it sounds like once you stop paying you lose that content which sucks.
This is such a HUGE fail. Paying for "free" games you wont even own? (cancel your subscription and you lose the games) Paying for AUTO PATCH UPDATES... SERIOUSLY.. Something Xbox LIVE does for ALL users. Paying for DEMOS (well Cows already did this for GT5:P) Fail all round.
I might fork over $17 just to try it out. Or was it $20? Either way, if I don't like then I will stop paying. SImply as that. We still get to play online for free.

It's a subscription, at least for $50/yr with Sony you get some stuff included in the service. MS should do the same, at least it would help justifty the cost some. I'll probably do the 3 month trial on PS3 and see how it goes.
I believe it doesn't as they thought it would fracture the network between free and pay, which leads me to believe they're either planning on implementing it across the board or still not implementing it at all.
(but I personally don't care about cross-game chat, although I'm sure some people do)
