[QUOTE="Tulak_Hord"][QUOTE="zomgwtfbbqlol1"][QUOTE="Tulak_Hord"][QUOTE="zomgwtfbbqlol1"][QUOTE="Tulak_Hord"][QUOTE="tbolt76"] STOP, DON'T GET THE KURO...INSTEAD, INVEST IN A SONY XBR8.
LOOK HERE
While the plasma is great, LCDs are a far better choice if you are going to be gaming. Then later on, when you do get that gaming PC, your XBR will be able to double as a monitor.

LCD's are not a "far" better choice when it comes to gaming. Games like Condemned look better on plasma TV's since they have better black levels.
umm XBR8 beats Plasma in Black Levels...No it doesn't, even your article doesn'tsay the XBR8 is better, it said the previous demo got owned by a plasm, and sony got a better TV, which looks better than the previous one.
Even the Samsung 950 with LED, 120Hz and dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 doesn't have as good blacks as a Pioneer Kuro.
Sony whom with their last generation TV's had lower native and dynamic contrast ratio's than samsung, even when they went outside the norm by making their dynamic C.R.'s 9x native C.R. when eveyone was making it five times native.
Anyway, before you make a comparison as grand as this (especially with TV's) compare them with your eyes not a digital camera.
The TV sony compaired it wiht was confirmed a pioneer, but some say it was infact a Kuro, and sony has always had the best LCDs too, the XBR4 was the 1st of its kind that could compaire to Plasma's, and the XBR8 has beat them, and considerinfg the fact they made OLED TVs they know what they are doing, a lot more thatn Samsungthe Kuro VS sony TV form pinoneer's event was with an old Sony LCD, not even an XBR
SONY XBR8 VS Pinoneer TV (maybe kuro)
if anything the XBR8 matches the "extreme contrast concept" kuro
Like I said earlier, I really don't care about about Pioneer or Sony's event, Considering how a digital camera is a poor judgment of how television quality.
Anyway, the first LED LCD was a samsung the 81 series, so Sony didn't invent LED. Anyway, I work with TV's and I know for a fact the XBR4 cannot compare with a plasma. The 120Hz was decent, but the black levels sucked. The Samsung 71 series had better black levels.
So I will have to see the XBR8, and I can bet it doesn't look as a plasma with black levels. Not when the black levels on the W series looks like crap.
OLED is diffrent... and they are the 1st to make an OLED TV....and the reason im compairing Sony to Pioneer is bcz Pioneer is said to be the best Black, but proof shows sony beat them with the XBR8, ill check into it personally later this year, but i can tell u knwo the XBR4 is a very much underrated LCD and looks amazing (wiht the lights on too 0) ) also i never said it had the best blacks, but it was the 1st LCD line that can compaire to a Plasma.
and dont bring the W series in bcz Bravia Engine 2PROTM Technology (XBR8) vs Bravia Engine 2TM Technology (W series)
XBR is a high end sony TV, the others are pretty bad in comparison
The W and Z series are Sony's best TV's in the market. We have recieved XBR6's but they haven't been displayed yet. Anyway, the XBR8 is an LED TV, not OLED. The first OLED was a Sony 11" 480p TV . The XBR8 uses an LED backlight which was first used by Samsung, and OLED TV's don't require a backlight to process video.
And the XBR4 was actually overrated. Everyone I know who bought it, got it because it was a sony, and the TV didn't look as good as a 71 series.....how do I know because I spent eveyday watching all the XBR's strating from the XBR2's to XBR5's till they were clearanced and gotten rid off, and I can say the same about the 71 series.
The Xbr4 was not even as good as the panasonic 700 series (they were out at the same time) when it came to black levels.....I will not judge other colors since some people prefer their other colors on TV's in a certain way (brighter or darker, I prefer darker).
