Poll 90s Nintendo or 90s Sega - who was better in your opinion? (51 votes)

90’s Nintendo 63%
90’s Sega 37%

Both were very competitive during that decade and both had quality consoles. I was just starting game at that time, so I don’t think have the best opinion on it. But what from what I gather, Nintendo had the superior platformers and also had strong support from Square Enix. But Sega seemed to have more mature titles and more variety. What do you think, SW? 90s Nintendo or 90s Sega - who was better in your opinion?

@Jag85: That goes without saying, however he went from Sega to Sony, which is like going from a fine restuarant to McDonalds lol.

That was literally me in the late '90s lol. Like most UK Sega fans at the time, I didn't get a Saturn but instead jumped ship to the popular console, PlayStation. It wasn't until I got a cheap second-hand Dreamcast in the early 2000s that Sega eventually won me back.

And you call yourself a Sega fan, for shame. I bought and still own all of Sega consoles and went from the Mega Drive to the Saturn, how did you think that Toshinden & Ridge Racer were better than Daytona USA & Virtua Fighter?

Nintendo was a staple, your bread-and-butter; but Sega had a nice treat once in a while.

@BenjaminBanklin: That's surprising, I thought you were a cow through & through.

So you had good gaming taste at one point, what happened?

I always had good gaming taste. Never pigeonhole yourself to one platform, or you'll end up heartbroken like the zealots that choose to go down with the ship. For example... this forum

I did want a Saturn initially, but it was too expensive. The PS1 was cheaper, so got that instead. The Saturn's £100 higher price tag was a fatal mistake.
