Running Crysis on very high isn't that special, it's the resolution that kills rigs. ;)

[QUOTE="dfgdetgertgerew"]damn my freaking 5 year old pc can max crysis on very high playable framerates, but i get hitching loading when moving to new area's because im out of memory. crysis dev mode said game was using 1900+ mb and i only got 2048 LOL, and 212 used default by os. that crap is using the harddrive as memory lolNedemisand just what are the specs of this 5 year old marvel?
512mb overclocked and watercooled 6800 Ultras in SLI, AMD FX-57 Single Core overclocked to 3.2GHz (watercooled), 2GB RAM OCZ 2-2-2 timing, Windows XP. Maybe just maybe 1024x768 high no AA 20fps.
All these new threads/topics make me want to reinstall Crysis and play it again. Actually... nah... I think Total War's good enough for now.

Sorry but you can't buy a $500 PC and CRUSH Crysis.

I can. I don't see why anybody else couldn't. It's not like you can't install your old OS on your new PC.Just doubled checked and I did -- indeed -- have a few settings at Very High. Your level of detail (LOD) is bugged. I believe it has something to do with the texture streaming. Restarting the game might fix it, but if not, put r_texturestreaming 0 in an autoexec.cfg in the Crysis root folder.

same thing can be said the other way around... the whole NES library, SNES library, genesis library, n64 library, psx library, etcThey didn't factor in the cost of the OS. Tack on another $100.Stevo_the_gamerYup, and they where running on XP. The performance would stall if they run it on Vista DX10. Very misleading title, just wrong.
