You can do HDMI and optical sound cables with the XBox 360 into your receiver. I really haven't compared the two side by side. Both sound great to me. I have a 5.1 setup with subwoofer. It rocks.

I hate listening to people go on about their sound systems. Very annoying when you hate loud noises, and use head phones for everything, including consoles.WasntAvailable

If a game has good sound, that's like the icing on the cake for me.
I LOVE great sound quality, and will not hesitate to crank up the surround sound just to hear the glory this is to be heard. (I did that for Dead Space, and it made the experience all that more amazing for me)
I'm sorry if sound comes off annoying to you, but for me it's one of the many aspects for a game that completes it.

yeah I have to agree I prefer XBL over PSN for one main reason is if I want to see all available games I can check a long list alphabetically of over 400 games but on PSN I can only do it by genre or if I choose alphabetical I have to keep going in and out of screens a-c, d-f, g-i and so on.
