About all the Wii U DOOMSDAY comments/threads

Remember a couple years back how the 3DS was doomed? Remember how it had "no games"?

Do you people ever learn? When the big 1st party titles start dropping (Mario Kart & Smash Bros.) the sales are going to take off like CRAZY!

How many copies of Mario Kart were sold for the Wii? 26 million I believe. Is there any other single platform game that can make that claim, on any other platform?

Also with Bayonetta 2, Rayman Legends, Lego City Undercover, Wonderful 101, Xenoblade sequel, 3D Mario, Wind Waker HD, "new" Zelda, Mario Kart Wii U, Pikmin 3 and whatever RETRO STUDIOS is working on.... which you can bet is either METROID OR DONKEY KONG. How can any gamer look at that list and think, "meh, who cares".

I didn't expect many games right away, but it at least needs ports to keep interest and there doesn't seem to be a lot of those.

The 3ds has games? It only has like 3 good games, the rest are either remakes or shovelware.lightleggy

Adventure Time, Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros 2, Professor Layton, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Kid Icarus, Resident Evil: Revelations... shall I go on?

All systems have this kind of stuff from the get go. Just try not to get worked up on all of it.

Its okay to complain about ineptitude or otherwise on Ninty's part on the launch itself and such, but keep in mind that even if it doesn't sell well, they are still probably going to make the most profit in the long run. Its happened for pretty much all the gens they have been in. They are pretty good at not losing very much money.

Then again I'm basing this off sales failure when it could have a large assortment of their games south of Gamecube, which is what people really should care about for the most part. If they fail to keep up the games, then it might be bad of course, but don't equate sales to any kind of doom just yet if they do deliver, since thats what you will care about deep down.

The Gamecube was during the era where the PS2 wiped the floor with ALL competitors, something that hasn't happened in that breadth before, so its a moot point really. Similar to how anomalous the Wii and DS was on its sales and money made for Nintendo. I doubt the direction for this gen will go that way considering that many have moved on, and will not pay high dollar for these kinds of things when they got other cheaper entertainment options. Not saying the new systems will be high price, but they probably will range around 400 or so while there is a ton of entertainment that is much cheaper.

wii u is way over priced. aunt marie and uncle bobs of the world aint going to buy another wii. all nintendo has is the core gamers and the youngsters . price kills the main group that helps nintendo. and with 3rd parties still not supporting the wii u the core gamer isnt gonna pay so much money just for a few nintendo exlusives a year.when they know both the ps4 and nextbox will be coming soon. nintendo released the wii u about 2 years too late imo. they have almost no chance when the other two systems come out . unless they lower the price by alot or stuff in at least 2 games in the box.

They stopped development on the console due to poor sales. After that, Nintendo started making profit from the system. I'm not saying that stopping production to make profit is any better, because it was certainly not a good thing.

Here is the scariest thing about WiiU. The Wii sold 100M and had abysmal 3rd party support. GC got abandoned by 3rd parties and even Nintendo said "the hell with that". Now, Wii U game production is much higher than GC or Wii and the console is on pace to sell less than the Gamecube and software sales are selling at half the rate of the gamecube.  How much support you think it's going to get if they don't turn it around soon?

Yeah it's way too early to count Nintendo out, they haven't released any of their heavy-hitters yet. When Zelda, Mario, Smash brothers etc hit the market, sheep will line up like hobos to a soup kitchen.Sushiglutton

The Wii U has been out for two months. The Xbox 360 has been out for going on 8 years. I certainly hope it has a better library, but I was referring to what the console is offering this year. I apologize, I meant to put "in 2013" in my post.

Xbox offers a whole lot more as of now, there really is no denying that unless you already have a PS3. The price for one is a major pull, more than any feature out there for the most part. Not saying that WiiU won't pick up their library, as I'm sure they will, but as of now there are two systems that are much more appealing if you decide to adopt late.
