[QUOTE="Czenkus"][QUOTE="Khansoul"][QUOTE="Czenkus"][QUOTE="omgimba"] Cause the PS3 didnt win them the Format war... That isn't worth anything for Sony.... Right...
Acclaim fails at intelligence.

To be fair, there are plenty of blu ray players that dont have PS3 on the box.
The format was meaningless look at the pathetic Blu-ray numbers. Itune movies outsold Blu-ray thus proving digital download will inevitably be the next step.
Very good point.
Either that or CHEAPER movies are the next step. Spending anywhere from $16-35 for a single feature length film on blu-ray is just ridiculous, especially considering you can find used DVDs for under $10 easily, and they're usually $5 or less (if you're shopping Amazon). The sad part is that most the blu rays don't even take advantage of the extra space, aside from the hi-def version of the flicks. Some blu-rays even have LESS bonus features than their DVD counterparts. Personally, it's these reasons why I haven't purchased a single blu-ray movie yet.
lol iunes movies sure if you like watching it on a 2 inch screen. blu-ray being the price it is reached 2% of movies sales just in 2 years. 2% was because the ps 3 had it in the machine. think about the % hdtv are in house holds that means the people that have hdtv are watch ing blu-ray movies you really think once hdtv becomes say 50% in house holds they will be watching itune movies. ya ok. hdtv sales are rising every day = blu-ray movies sales rising as well. dvd was 30 bucks a movie did that stop it to become a the standard movie sales when vhs was 5 bucks a movie as well.vhs was 80 bucks a movie when it came out if you remember did that stop it from being 5 bucks in a few years later.
sony lose in the gaming division was not only a loss for that it also a loss for sony in the movie industry
once the stand alone blu-ray players becomes say 100 to 200 bucks price range = more ps3,hdtv's,blu-ray movies, ect. sales.
i like you to download a hd movie and see how long it takes before you can watch your movie.
