Is he still going by the Kindergarden rule of

"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it"

It's business, get use to it.

I like how you're paraphrasing the quote.

Activisoin = Bad

EA = God/ The holy savior.

Next time read the entire article TC. This is what he ALSO said : "This isn't politics," Hirshberg said, as he wrapped up an awards ceremony keynote at the Gamescom event in Cologne. "In order for one to win, the other doesn't have to lose. This is an entertainment industry, it's an innovation industry, and at best, it's an art form... We shouldn't be tearing each other apart, fighting for a larger slice of the pie. We should all be focused on trying to grow a bigger pie. If we as an industry act like there are a finite number of games in the world, then there will be." - :|

Their game harms it how? Just because millions of people prefer their games and not whatever you play? How is that harming? It helps the industry. It pulls in money.

Also, I agree with Activision, for once.

If you don't love COD, then simply never talk about it. Period.

While I disagree with with that anti CoD talk harms the industry. I do however agree with this,

"This isn't politics, in order for one to win, the other doesn't have to lose. This is an entertainment industry, it's an innovation industry, and at best, it's an art form... We shouldn't be tearing each other apart, fighting for a larger slice of the pie. We should all be focused on trying to grow a bigger pie."

People are entitled to say what they want. And if they want to criticize CoD, then so be it.

In the end they are both really greedy companies. Yes, EA too. This smack talk is stupid, they're not even remotely the same games. Quite the opposite of each other in terms of FPS games.

That is not what he said. He wasn't specifically saying that "Anti-Call of Duty Talk Harms the Gaming Industry". What he said was that: "We shouldn't be tearing each other apart, fighting for a larger slice of the pie." So he's speaking much more generaly (and he's correct ofc). I don't play COD, l but this witch-hunt is geting sligtly silly.

It hurts your wallet maybe but its good for us to voice our opinion bout your messiah of a product.

He's calling out EA ofc but that's not the point. What TC and the article are falsely claiming is that he is saying that talking down COD specifically is bad for the industry (whover does it). That is NOT what he said, nor did he imply it.

I know at least other genres are still going strong. And even some FPS's still have original thoughts. (ie FEAR.)

No it's not. He's speaking in general terms when he spoke about companies not "tearing each other apart", even though he ofc is directly inspired by what the EA boss said. But he didn't imply that saying bad things about COD in particular is worse than doing it about another game (which is what Kotaku's headline did). U are blinded by hate :)!

Everything he said was correct.

EA is showinglack of confidence in BF3 and desperation if they need to resort to fanboyish comments like "die CoD, die  ".

Not that I blame them, they probably know that besides technical merits, MW3 is going to be superior in every way.

They kinda have point, even though they're partially trolling here :P

But seriously, gamers hate CoD like how Palestinians hate Israelis. The difference is that the Palestinians actually have a good reason behind their hate.

When CoD is the only thing being bought by the casual gamers, it does hurt the industry. That money could be going toward actual good games with some actual innovation. Instead, those casual gamers only know about Call of Duty so that's all they buy.

I actually agree with him, gamers should stop bashing CoD and provide ways they can improve the game, instead of being mad that other companies are copying the multi-million dollar franchise.*raises flame shield (hylian shield)*

Still has annual releases with little to no improvement over each sequel so your point? nothing to hate really i would be driven bonkers if my favourite music artist released a mediocre album every year, i think the same of SAW just let the franchise die for god sake or least tone back release schedules.

Yearly releases are actually not good for games like CoD, its understandable sports games get roster updates especially in football as so much can change in the space of ayear but FPS games do not need new iterations every year especially CoD its hardly changed at all.

Btw before you bring an arguement b-b-b-b-ut sports games dont change much i give you Fifa over the past 4-5 years its improved tenfold.

Why change something that's perfect? the fans are fine with the gameplay and we will continue to support them.
