Activision: Gamers will 100% go for the cheaper next gen console (PS4VSX1)

PS4 is only 40 dollars cheaper when you add Eye.ShoulderOfOrion

It's funny because at the start of Gen 7, Lems/Casuals said that Xbox would win because it was cheaper, but Cows were set that having "more" (blu ray, cell, etc.) would outweigh the cost and lead their platform to victory. PS3 was then promptly crushed that holiday season by the $250 Wii. Now at the start of Gen 8, Cows are claiming they can win with the $400 PS4 while Lems/Casuals believe that having "more" (Cloud, TV integration, Kinect 2) will outweigh the greater cost. Funny how history repeats itself sometimes.LordOfPoms

Wii was an enigma, and also the PS3 didn't have a mountain of angry consumers to calm down after they tried fvcking them over like MS does. 

Pre Orders provide a solid insight as to how things might go, and the XB1 is getting crushed by the PS4 in that regard. We'll see how things go now that MS changed their policies, but I expect the Xbox to be playing catchup this gen.

Yes 400 dollars for a system that is pretty much the same in terms of hardware (but still more powerful) is nice.

The fact the big difference is the lack of camera on PS4 which I can still buy if I want for 60 dollars and it still be 40 dollars less than a xb1 with its camera is nice.

The fact I can get ps+ which gives A LOT MORE than xbl live does, for less is nice also.

But what it comes down to is politics for me. MS slammed its consumers hard with tons of drm and said "deal with it" and spent weeks, months arguing with consumers as to why they should deal with it, then flip flopped not for the sake of the customer but to get better sales. The fact they put even something simple as netflix behind a paywall and dozens of other reasons why I wont support MS. I wont support them for their terrible lack of respect for the very people who keep them in business.

Im not a fanboy of any system because I love games. But I also wont support a company that treats its customers like walking wallets and nothing else. If sony did the same thing as MS and MS was the company to give its customers options and showed that they mattered then I would have pre ordered a xb1 instead of a ps4.

If a company does things that dont make me feel like a valued customer I dont give them money, regardless of who they are.

The PS3 was blu-ray and blu-ray alone was from $800 to $1,000 stand alone on 2006,so basically the PS3 wasn't just a next console with was also a Blu-ray player all in 1,to get that else where mean that you had to spend from $1,200 to $1,400 dollars to do else where what the PS3 did for $600 and $500.

The xbox one is weaker than the PS4 and cost $100 more.

Said it before and ill say it again, if you are really worried about a $100.00 then you probably shouldnt get either system

You've got to read into what they're saying.

If they showed a group of people both consoles, and said "Both will play highly-anticipated games with next-gen visuals, but one is $100 more" then of course everyone would choose the one that's $100 less.

But that's not the real-world scenario, and that's not what Activision is talking about. They're just simply talking about the focus group who really knows nothing about the systems other than that they do "pretty much the same thing" for a different price.

Obviously people will sway one way or another if they know more about the consoles. The Xbox One's library being amazing, and the enhanced feature set, is why the console is staying competitive at the current moment despite mountains of bad press.

i picked a motherboard has holds 32GB OF RAM lol i could of made it cheaper by getting one only 8gb or 16gb ram limit might aswell go for higher ram limit.

I would happily pay a little more for the product I want over the product I dont.

Its true that those more casual gamers might punch for the lower price console because they see multiplats on both console and cant justify the extra 100 on the Xbox One. Me...Im X1 day 1.
